Initial Reaction: When you talk about local hangout spots, the Whiskey is one of them. My wife had been enjoying drinks with our friend there when I showed up after my staff retreat activities for the day. It's a fun hangout, playing rock music from the 00s, which gives it a nostalgic vibe. Buck from the bar was very hospitable and made me feel at home. I enjoyed an Almond Joy cocktail that was quite good, as well as a shot of Jameson, which I needed after the long, intensive day I had. They have a solid whiskey selection behind the bar if you were looking to do some pours or shots -- pours based on the bottle I saw. They also make some cool cocktails off the cuff. A touch methodical, but they were good, at least the ones my wife enjoyed. Like at every other bar in Savannah, per the ordinances, there is a door person who checks IDs, so make sure you have it. When I walked in, I was gazing around and then all of a sudden, a man appeared asking for ID. They usually have someone watching from the top of the stairs or from the level you enter, but they will check you so keep note if you're not used to bringing your ID with you (not sure why you wouldn't, but I digress). read more

We patiently waited for 3 espresso martinis and it was worth the wait. The decor gives ivy school graduate with his first finance job, newly decorated by his mom's decorator as a "yay! he is employable gift", apartment. This place rocks! Although it has a very unassuming presence from the outside and its storefront entry, once you walk in the vibe is an elegant and sophisticated environment. Malik greeted us as we entered. The bar and lighted shelves with at least 100 choices of whiskey...and yes, there were other liquors as well. I inquired on a few bottles that I didn't recognize, Malik gave me a small taste of each. I loved that! I ordered '2 fingers' of each whiskey served neat. Malik recommended with both whiskies I try it over ice. So he also gave me a beautiful ice rock in a tumbler to try drinking each whisky since they were both higher in alcohol. This was a super nice touch. The Whiskey was welcoming to outsiders, a sophisticated but not stuffy environment, great music playing, and LOTS of great whiskeys to enjoy. If I lived in Savannah, Malik and I would be hanging out on a regular basis drinking fine whiskey! Whiskey lovers have to try this place. read more

22 November 2025. I believe I was a subject of racial profiling here last night. Bouncer who told me his name was "Jack" denied me and my coworker entry. Man in the photo attached would not let me in because he said he saw me stumbling up and down the rails earlier that night and I was too inebriated to enter. I asked him what he was talking about, I hadn't been there yet all evening as we just left our hotel room. I asked if it was another Asian guy just looked like and he doubled down saying it was definitely me. I asked him to check the security camera time 745pm on 22 November 2025 or better yet, breathalyze me. He refused. And called four other gentlemen to back him up. My coworker is an African American man and I am Asian and we felt very unwelcome. No facts he made were substantiated by evidence. I was excited to show my coworker this place place I found and had been coming to for the past year as evident by the previous positive review I made a year ago. All the bouncers but one was reasonable and professional but at the end of the day refused our entry and service. I took this photo to document our negative interaction and the bouncer with a full beard and mustache then told me that I was banned from all their establishments. I encourage the owner to educate this young man and train him on decision-making, analytical skills, de-escalation skills. A bit of emotional intelligence will go a long way to this gentleman here. It would do wonders for your business and clientele. Please CHECK your surveillance camera for all the facts. I stumbled across this bar on a Wednesday evening. It's tucked next to an abandoned antique store and to the left of the Bohemian Hotel facing toward Bay Street. From the outside other than the LARGE letter of the name against the white building it could easily blend into the abandoned antique store next doors. As I said before I stumbled into this establishment due to the front entrance being blocked by parked cars from the hotel valet and uneven cobble stones. The inside is all dark wood and leather and reminded me of a cider bar lounge. The bar space is directly to your right when you walk in with thick wooden bar chairs and leather booths toward the back which is perfect for larger parties with a small outside balcony. They also have a downstairs which features pool tables and more of a sports bar theme. Behind the bar they have a selection of mainly whiskey and bourbon on display with a small selection of gin, tequila and vodka. The menu is a single page for mixed drinks... this isn't a cocktail establishment it's a whiskey bar just like the name. The staff were friendly. We were greeted by Andrew and since I'm not a whiskey gal I ordered from the menu. (I know how could I?) I had a lovely strawberry thyme gin inspired drink and my friend got an espresso martini which I know every bartender hates. Both were very tasteful and well made. We arrived about 8:30p on a Wednesday and it was quiet with just a few people at the bar. I would recommend this location if you are a whiskey lover or just want to check out a fun sports/lounge bar. read more

Malik was absolutely wonderful. He had a vast knowledge of whiskeys and alcohol in general. He was so polite and funny. Definitely made our 2+ hour visit worth it.
