Never in a million years did I think I'd be ordering and eating Thai food from a dive bar! There aren't many choices for Thai around Savannah and I really was missing some comfort food so why not? You get to pick your level of spice, have a drink while you wait for your order and people watch. Don't expect a fancy plating but the food was flavorful and satisfied my craving!

The food and the new menu is amazing. I tried the Banh Mi sandwich and it is off the charts delicious. The noodle dishes and pho is among the best in Savannah. The bar is comfortable, good tv's and friendly bartenders/servers take good care of you.

Gee, this looks like a bar and we'll, it is a bar. But It's also a great little restaurant. The menu is certainly short, but not in stature. If you're a foodie, you will really like this place. The ambiance...like I said, it's a bar. The service was outstanding. Prices were most reasonable, exceptional if you consider the quality of the food. I seriously doubt you would be disappointed should you visit here, and I recommend that you do so.

It was ok. Not my favorite place. Food was just ok. Service was great. We got there late so the menu was really small. For the prices the portions were extremely small

    Substantially smaller portions

I've been going for years. Severely downsized portions and $30 for a to go order of pad Thai. Double the price for half portions. Never again.

I can't believe I haven't been here. My friends and I stopped by for some drinks, but mostly for the food. Thai bar food and yummy slushees. Who would have thought that this is the best combo! It's not super fancy or overpriced like a lot of places downtown. I think if you're visiting and need some food without the frills, go here. If you live here and want something away from all the downtown chaos during the day, go here. We each had the Thai fried rice. I had the level 2 spicy flavor, and my friend had the level 3. I can normally handle spicy, but will say the level 2 was pretty spicy! I asked for some sweet chili sauce to cool it down, and it helped. Our waitress was so nice! Amazing energy and she helped us out in more ways than one. I wish I got her name, but she had long jet black hair. Can't wait to go back, and really excited about the koozie I got with the Yelp check-in. Do you self a favor and check out Boomys!

A scam! $14.50 Chicken Satay plate, to go..
    Prescilla M.

The Chicken Satay was barely there and the Pho was trash, we had a minor and couldn't dine in, the ambiance outside was chill, the main reason for the 1 star is because, I ordered to go, my family of 4 and I were starving after our late night ghost tour, stopped here and when I finally got my to go order, the girl said she gave me all the chicken satay she had because a new truckload with inventory would come the next day, I paid $14.50 for each plate of chicken Satay (total of 2 plates) for 3 slices of chicken and a cup of rice and the $17 Pho was disgusting. It was a total waste of $50 total. There was no need to scam me, you could have told me you didn't have enough food to make a plate, instead of just taking my money and sending me off. I would never go back to this place, complete trash! So disappointed and completely taken advantage of, this would not have happened had I dined in and looked inside the plate before driving off.

Boomy's has some of the best Thai food around. We've been here several times. The atmosphere is sports bar/late night bar and the food is served in to go boxes BUT don't let that be a deterrent because the food is excellent. I got the sesame chicken noodles (spice level 2) and my husband got the Pad Thai (spice level 3) both dishes were delicious. The spice levels are HOT! Even my level 2 was very hot and the level 3 was almost too hot for my husband. If you enjoy a casual atmosphere, like watching sports and eating Thai food, Boomy's is the place. Only downside is sometimes it seems staffing is short so when it's busy, wait times for drinks/refills etc take a little longer and when they do get to you, be ready to order lol

The vibe in Saturday nite 1/2024

Ambience. C. (Divey Busy) Service. B. Food. (Thai food?!!). Price. A Divey sports bar with several screens splashed throughout the place ... definitely sports! Tonight Saturday had a DJ playing very loud music at 11:00 pm and on. Good vibe. What a concept- Thai FOOD late nite in Dive Bar and loud setting!!! Lots of people seem to be eating! Service was good once I was able to flag down and be nice to my server. She was very pleasant and quick to assist. Didn't know how to order so just asked! And got help when I needed it. Ordered the drunken noodle... came out nice and hot and ordered 4 stars. Nicely spiced. I just need more flavor. A few carrots, bamboo shoots and snow peas with fried tofu. Thank goodness they had fish sauce and vinegar and hoisin on request.... I just needed to flavor my noodles up to my level to make it the bomb! I get that fish sauce is an acquired taste. Glad to be able to get extra fishy sauce on side. $14 for Thai drunken noodles. Good deal actually for the amount of noodles. What a great late nite place to get THAI FOOD!!! I'm A Fan!!!

    Full bar service.

Great spot for live music and the food was pretty good as well. We had a great time.

    Raw meat

Food delivery showed up with raw meat and no silverware? We ordered Boomy's through DoorDash, and upon opening our orders we found that the "beef" was completely RAW and dripping blood all over the noodles. I can understand forgetting to throw in silverware, but serving raw meat is absolutely absurd. Not only is it disgusting but it is also not safe to even eat the noodles since the raw meat was sitting on top. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Thanks for the explanation, Kieth, but if the beef is 'supposed' to be cooked in hot broth, maybe actually serve it that way? After sitting in a DoorDasher's car for 20+ minutes, that broth isn't doing anything to 'cook' the meat. Also, last I checked, cooking is the restaurant's job, not mine. Next time, if there even is a next time, maybe try producing food that's actually ready to eat rather than expecting customers to finish it for you.

    Drunken noodles and Pho
    Nina C.

Really nice relaxing place to go. Service was very good, clean restrooms and the music wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear each other talking. I ordered the seafood drunken noodles and my husband ordered the Pho. I would eat there once a week or more if I lived near.

This pub was about a 10 minute walk from the Residence Inn so not bad at all. We arrived a little after 9:30pm and the place was busy in the bar area but plenty of seating in the dining area. We were immediately greeted and able to secure a spot within 2-4 minutes of arriving. You can tell this is a place where visitors patronize but there are also locals who were familiar with the bartender and had history. The bartender was lively and said whatever you want to drink if I have the ingredients I can make it. Old speckled hen and tenets on tap but no other English beer options. More of a variety of Irish beers. If you are seeking your traditional fish and chips as my lovely partner was this is not the place as they do not have fries, anything battered or fried on the menu. We ordered a open faced pot roast sandwich to share and it was a generous portion, meat was tender, gravy was tasty but if expecting roast in the sense of carrots, onions, parsnips this was just meat and gravy. However, I truly enjoyed it and the mashed potatoes were not instant and very tasty and filling. We felt welcomed, cozy and they were thorough on ID's which I appreciated. If ever in the area again we would return as they stayed open until midnight.

Hi Everyone, So…read moreyou're dressed for the concert and maybe your seeing and are anticipating your delight while you listen to John Cougar Mellencamp, KC and the Sunshine Band, Chicago, Joe Bonamassa, Steve Martin and Martin Short, or the Motown All-Stars (e.g. "Holy Mackerel Ethel, we have to check out the Johnny Mercer, it's got some great shows." Rolling her eyes as if to say, who knew? As she has been saying this for years, as she utters, "Good idea, Geddes.") at the Johnny Mercer Theatre that starts at 7:30 PM. But where to eat, how to get to the restaurant, and back to theatre on time for the concert while making it easy, no stress, fun, relaxing, taste enthralling, thrilling, care free, laid back, exciting, entertaining, safe, and logistically possible? Well, let's see Sweetpea. How about we arrive at 4:30 PM, and park at the Liberty Street Parking garage, right accross the street from the Johnny Mercer Theatre. Easy, check. Next we get an Uber to the Six Pence Pub. Why? No stress, check. We start our meal, with one of their adventuresome, tasty, cocktails which are all fantastic. "But how about getting to the Concert?" Right now, we're having some fun hanging out with our friends and catching up. Fun, check. Please remember Poindexter (I.e. my name for my conscience), we're not driving until after the concert is over which leaves us about five hours to recover from our cocktail before dinner, or two, you Devil you! Relaxing, check. We next get to experience eating some of the most delicious food in Savannah, GA. From the Crab Cake, to the Scotch Eggs, to the Smoked Salmon to their bombastic Broiled Portabella, their appetizers were both savory and palette pleasing. Then our companions had their outstanding, tastebud tintilating, French Onion and Chicken Noddle soups which are both made from scratch. Yea, yea, French Onion and Chicken Noodle soup, big deal. If you have not had it, I am here to tell you, there is nothing ordinary about either, as both were very delicious. We then dined on their Open Roast Beef, their Tender Pot Roast, their Atlantic Salmon all of which offered a very pleasing, tremendous taste in their own right. However, the Broiled flounder stuffed with shrimp and scallops was so exceptional, we ordered another two of these entrees so we could all share this dish as part of each of our meals. Taste enthralling, check. Please note, I did not write the words, "Pub Food" above as the Six Pence Pub's fare will thrill your tastebuds right down to the last morsel. Thrilling, check. Our Server was exceptional, timely, and personable. Care free, check. Our ambience was simply Pub delightful! Laid back, check. But then the bill came and lo and behold our friend had to stand and do a little Irish jig, or did he have to go to the bathroom?... Nah, it was the very reasonable pricing that pleased us all as we scampered to catch our Uber. No, wait a minute, we did not dine and dash. We would never dine and dash. We tipped our Server handsomely, paid our bill, and then we all scampered to catch our Uber as we were all feeling wonderful. Exciting, check. We made the show with twenty-five minutes to spare, which left us enough time to buy our lovely dinner companions a show Tee Shirt to memorialize our evening together. Our show was extremely entertaining which thrilled us all, to no end. Thanks Steve and Martin, you're the best! Thrilling, and entertaining, double check. Logic dictates that when we were able to throughly enjoy our evening while having an easy, no stress, fun, relaxing, taste enthralling, thrilling, care free, laid back, exciting, entertaining time that it is, in fact, logistically possible. Logistically possible, check. And yes, we were safely able to enjoy our ride home while we all talked about how much we enjoyed our evening together. Safe, check. So what is the acronym or memory mnemonic here? ENSFRTETCFLBEESL But how do you pronounce it? Ya'll figure it out. I did almost all the work here in writing this review, lol. Enjoy!

I definitely do not regret our decision as we had a great meal. The interior ambiance of the restaurant truly transports to another place, it is truly beautiful. Our server was so gentle and gave us many recommendations on things to try and even accommodated some of requests. We started with the Espresso Martini and non-alcoholic French 75 (my first time) and these were both great. For appetizers, we had the crab croquettes (cakes), escargots and caesar salad. Everything was delicious (including the complimentary bread) , and to our surprise the Caesar salad had a nice crunch with the addition of fried frog leg pieces (if I'm not mistaken). The main entrees were the stars of the night, while we were originally inclined to try their Steak & Frites, our server recommended the steak tips sautéed over mushroom sauce with pasta and this was the perfect match instead of the classical French fries pairing. We also had the Supreme Roasted Chicken with caramelized veggies and everything was cooked to perfection. We did not leave without dessert and tried their Créme Brûlée, and while it was runnier than usual, the flavor was there. We thought it needed more time. Overall a great experience while in Savannah!
