The ambiance of Ranchi Alegre is so comforting. There are plenty of tables and they all seemed packed with laughter. The staff was extremely kind. I decided on the arroz con gandules with yuca and tostones on the side. Everything was so fresh and delicious! I wish I tried their plantains. And it seemed like it was a common stop for drinks! I was in for a quick lunch but I look forward to trying the drinks next time.

I had a late lunch and wanted to stop in for something for dinner. I had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich! It was really delicious with the Plantanos. The service was very good! The price was very reasonable and would definitely be back again when I come back to Savannah!

One my favorite restaurants! The food is always great. And the bread that they bring to the table when you sit down is something to always look forward to. Highly recommend!

Excellent authentic Cuban food. We had the Cuban sandwich and the Baby Churrasco with Mojitos. We would order all of this again! Staff is very pleasant too!

Be ready to eat some great food and drink a lot! First of all, I love the ambiance of this restaurant. It's a taste of Havana with a bit of Savannah. Moses was my server and bartender and he and his staff took care of my every need. I recommend starting with a mojito as this is a Cuban specialty that most bars will not make. It's rum goodness with other flavors that are a treat to taste. I sampled the Ham Croquettes wish a must for anyone who has never tried them. They were fried crispy ham goodness that only the Cubans know. For the main course I ordered the bistec empanizado which is Cuban Fried steak served up with sweet friend plantains, black beans and rice. This is Cuban comfort food at its best and feel free to add a pinch of salt. The ropa viaja is next on my list! (Shredded soft Beef in creole sauce) Please don't miss the chance to experience some amazing food and service here!

What drink to order Mojito so good

Took yelp reviews and didn't disappoint. I'm a Latina and thank goodness they used seasoning. Server excellent.

Good Cuban food place far from Miami. Good ambience to a New Orleans type ritmo. Came here for appetizers, the Cuban sampler hit the spot. Café con leche was good but no Cuban tostadas available. When in Savannah, will be back again

First time eating here. I had the steak sandwich which was good. I love Cuban food and will be returning. Staff was friendly and quick. Always love the Cuban bread they give you. Ambiance was nice and the restaurant is spacious.

My sister had been here before and wanted to come back on our trip. This place is amazing. The empanadas are some of the best I've had, I would have ordered more and just had them for dinner. The seafood stuffed pineapple was delicious. Everything on my sister plate was great as well. The drinks were really good, I love that they have slushy drinks here too. Staff is very helpful. The restaurant is small but it wasn't loud at all when we were there which was nice. I will be returning someday.

Cuban with beans and salad with IPA. Delish!

My wife and I were in Savannah for a long weekend vacation and we had heard great things about Rancho Alegre. It was only about 3 blocks from hotel. The place was good sized and kind of had a weird greeter that said "Can I help you?" Ummm....Yeah, we would like to sit down and have dinner. They had a pretty good beer list and I ordered a big IPA, which was great. I then ordered a Cuban, which is always my "Go to" with black beans and a house salad. Our server was great and the Cuban was full of pork and super succulent. the bread was perfectly pressed and the black beans were wonderful. It came out hot, which is always good. the house salad was good sized and had a fruity dressing. i would have liked options, but all-in-all, you should definitely go here while in Savannah!

Storefront on Martin Luther King Blvd away from main part of town. Authentic Cuban look and feel inside. Came here because I love Cuban food. My husband and daughter had dined here before and loved it. Honestly I can't wait to go back when I can enjoy a few drinks with my meal. Food and service were very good. Couple things could use some improvement. Sopa Pollo, while delicious lacked substance. It was more broth than anything else. But so yummy I picked up the bowl to drink all the broth. They didn't clear our appetizer plates when our meals arrived. Just dropped them on the table and cleared nothing. We had to stack the empty plates to make room to eat our meals. I had the soup, side of sweet plantains which was yummy and the Papa Rellena, Potato ball stuffed with ground beef Nice size but kind of bland. Table hotsauce (serious heat!) took care of that. Happy we came. Definitely will be back. Sunday afternoon for lunch we walked right in. My daughter tells me it's crowded and fun on weekends with live music. Next time be back for that experience. Next time coming for margaritas & more. Was flying home in few hours so just had soda.

More 7-11 than restaurant? This could be a great spot. Ambiance is awesome and would be so much fun with live music. Serious Cuban menu but lunch food was somewhat mediocre. I had a fried grouper sandwich served with very little tartare sauce and no other toppings. Bland- some additional toppings were needed to make this great. My wife had the Cuban salad with chicken that had generous portions of toppings. Food was fresh. Maybe a miss since we didn't get truly authentic Cuban dishes. The real let down here was the service. Staff were more interested in sitting at their own table and talking or scrolling than serving customers. I had to find the staff at their table to ask for more tartare sauce and drink refills. Drinks ran dry twice and unless we went and found someone, we did not get any service- even to pay our bill. Finally this restaurant has a walk up bar in the back that services carry out alcoholic slushes. There was nonstop traffic for the drink takeout. You cannot not sit at a table and drink these- house rules which makes sense since tables should be for people eating food. However this set up makes it feel like a 7-11 rather than a restaurant. It put a negative light on our dining experience.

Beautiful glass, marble, deep colors of navy, mauve, and gold. Service was wonderful, felt welcomed immediately. For my appetizer, I had the crab cake with homemade tartar sauce, which was a light, bright way to start the evening. For my entree, I had the filet mignon. The server will tell you, the menu says tapas, but the servings are larger than that. Meat portions are generous at 6 oz. My only complaint is that I ordered my steak medium and got closer to well done. At least the steak was still moist and not dried out, but I would be hesitant to do the steak again. The spinach risotto I had with it was creamy and cheesy, however, so that was nice. Other options for food include burrata, a charcuterie board, grilled shrimp, sea bass, salmon, scallops. The cocktails are the real star here. They fall under the categories "strong and adventurous," light fare," and "signature." Non-alcoholic cocktails are also available. I started with the medusa 1597, under "strong and adventurous." Made with Old Tom Gin, extra dry vermouth, truffle, grapefruit, and amaro, it was extremely strong. A bold, slow sipper I would have done better to have later in the evening, but I still appreciate the complexity of it. I also had the Bella primavera, a lighter cocktail under the signature section. Made with pisco, blanc vermouth, French herbal liqueur, watermelon, and basil leaf. A smoother, brighter, faster sip than the Medusa. And I also had the blood orange martini, made with French vodka, blood orange, lime, and cranberry. A little sweet, but not cloying, and again, would have been a better starter as opposed to a closer. I think when I return, I will ask the bartender to make me off the menu drinks. This place seems creative enough that the outcome would be fantastic. I loved this place. The vibe, the view, the service, the offerings. Can't wait to see what more they have in store.

Ambiance is prohibition bar vibes so a little more rustic and casual. I was a bit annoyed by the hostess. We had a reservation for our party of 6 and arrived about 15 minutes early. I asked if we could grab drinks at the bar and she kept coming up with excuses on why we couldn't stand or sit in certain areas. Finally, I just asked her to come up with a solution because we had 15 minutes to kill and they didn't have a waiting area. Funny enough, she decided then to get our table ready. It was just odd. Our server was from Ukraine so she was efficient and fast. Not super friendly or chatty with us which missed the mark on Southern hospitality and made our experience feel cold compared to our previous dinner experiences in town. I don't fault her for it though as she did her job. We ordered an excessive amount of starters and some of the entrees. The stand outs for me was the crispy Brussels sprouts, roasted bone marrow, steamed mussels, and grilled octopus. Skip any of the bread options. They weren't even toasted. For entrees, we also decided to share them. The pork chop and NY strip were stand outs. We ended up sending back the halibut. It tasted mealy and freeze burnt. Skip the crispy Japanese eggplant. I was expecting a grilled dish and it was actually fried with a thick batter. Too heavy for my liking. Overall, we enjoyed our meal but not somewhere I am dying to go back to.
