Was really looking forward to Spanish food in Savannah. They have plenty of options but I was looking for authentic arroz con gondules (rice and peas) with pernil (roasted pork) and maduros (sweet plantains). I got the bowl with everything, off yellow rice and black beans ( NO RICE AND GONDULES, not made here) roasted pork, salad and avocado and corn ( which I didn't want but was added, even though it was told...‍). Good thing I don't have an allergy to corn. Very nice girl at the counter but i guess was distracted. Although it's a nice size bowl which I couldn't finish in one sitting, I was disappointed with the pork. Yes it should be tender like pulled pork but not mushy. Not only that it could have used more flavor, in our culture we love to use numerous spices. Our food is definitely not bland. All I can think is that maybe at one time in the beginning the food was on point and over time it's lacking. The dining area is a nice size for eating indoors and they share the space with a Bolivian establishment which serves meat Pattie's and fresh juice drinks. The food is mediocre and not an option for me. I will continue my hunt for some Spanish food that will please my palette. read more

I read on Facebook that Latin Chicks was raising $$ for Meals For Medical- to feed the frontline medical workers during the pandemic. I looked up this business and discovered they have food trucks in addition to their restaurant. One of their food trucks was in Pooler that night so off we went! The truck was at an apartment complex and there was a line of 8 people when we arrived. It didn't take long to place our order and we received our meal in about 12 minutes. I had a delicious Cuban sandwich with chips and plantains. My son had the chicken quesadilla with rice & black beans. We ordered a couple of empanadas and devoured them in the car on the way home. All the food was tasty and flavorful. The staff were very friendly and were surprised we drove that far to try them out. I can't wait to try the main restaurant now and sample some more foods. read more

Oh My Goodness! The Latin Chicks have love built into every bite they serve! Jackie waited on my husband twice while we were visiting Savannah, and she was delightful...and we ordered takeout after two busy days. He says the restaurant is spotless and has ample seating. We ordered 1/2 Peruvian roasted chicken with yucca and a side salad, and roasted pork with plantains and side salad. It was enough for two meals, and we shared! Soo one day me and my roommate were looking for a place to go eat and we came upon Latin Chicks, and boy am I glad we found it. I'm not sure if it's a chain or not but this place was so nicely decorated that was the very first thing I noticed about it But let's get to what you came here for, the food. I ordered rice with beans with the 1/4 chicken and yuca fries. It was all very delicious. The rotisserie chicken was full of flavor, the yuca fries were amazing, and the rice and beans were also very good. My roommate got the plantains and he let me try one and they were superb. Well I wanted a different taste, because at one point I think they were in Oglethorpe mall,but any-who. The place was hard to find the parking was not too my liking. But the food was tasty the service not so much. I haven't had it in quite some time but it was what I needed at the time. I thought about sitting down but they were full and spaced out. I have enjoyed food from Latin Chicks before but I had the good fortune of trying out their Vida Fresh Food Truck last night and it was just as good as the restaurant. I ordered pork street tacos with a side of black beans and rice and an added side of Mexican corn. The three small tortillas were topped with juicy pork, chopped onion and cilantro. There was also a container of a spicy green sauce (tomatillo?). It was a little sour but that nicely balanced the fatty goodness of the pork. The beans and rice were tasty, but the corn was a little underwhelming. I expected something similar to street corn, but this was kernels of corn in a milky cream with flavorings sprinkled on top. Overall, a nice meal and I will look for them at the next food truck festival. read more

First date with the chick today went well! Been wanting to try it for sometime but finally got around to it. Came in at lunch time and hardly had to wait. Everything seems like it's prepared earlier that day and fresh. I got the Latin bowl with the mojo pork and loved it. The pork had a rich deep taste with bright flavors and cooked excellently. Choose your rice and beans and say yes to the lettuce and tomatoes lol. I chose fried yuca to go a lot with mine but could have done with out to be honest. Lacked flavor. We had the food truck at Mercer Pointe tonight and I WAS APPALLED. The mandate to wear masks was in no way being followed. There was not a mask in sight and they had no problem serving anyone who walked up, mask or not. The pandemic is real, the mandate is real and I will never go to them, now or after things settle down, if they happen to still be in business. Their food truck came to my apartment complex for our food truck Wednesday. Service was quick and friendly and portion size was great! I did not love the tortillas (a little dry) but I am sure the experience of eating from a food truck rather than their restaurant is a little inferior. The food is definitely 5 star. The value is a 5 star. The ambiance is 4 star. I have to admit that I always take my food to go at most places that I go to. My favorite is any of the chicken. My second time here and maybe last. Was in town on business with a manager. I was really looking forward to taking him here as my first experience was good. Unfortunately, the second time around wasn't. Food was fine, but cook was coughing over food while preparing. This place maybe might want to think about going to a mask while cooking. Bathroom was nasty. I can see the lunch rush making a mess there, but 3 employees behind counter on their phones. Guess that took priority over being grossed out when customers going to wash hands. I'm not the kind to just write a bad review to spite a business, but cleanliness is a must for me when going out to eat. There were no paper towels available in the men's room. Unacceptable. First time visitor to Latin Chicks on a Wednesday, around 3PM. When I walked in, I wasn't sure where to order so I waited for several minutes - no one greeted me. It gave me time to look around. I finally said hello loudly. Even after a young lady came to the register, she didn't say hello and she didn't smile. I imagined she was tired, but that was not a good first impression. :) 5 stars for the food, it was delicious. The Peruvian rotisserie chicken was perfectly seasoned, I ordered vegetables, cabbage with zucchini, its smothered with a creamy textured tomato sauce, delicious. The yellow rice is good all by itself. They have a new customer. I wish I can afford to eat here every day. read more

I discovered Latin Chicks in Savannah, GA on my cell phone. (I was traveling from PA to FL and had spent the night in Savannah.) I ordered a take-out meal of 1/4 chicken, plantain, and red beans and rice. Everything was served hot, fresh, and delicious. The person who took my order and the chef were quick, friendly, and efficient. I also had a great churro coated with chocolate for dessert. People should really give this place a chance. Yelp Challenge 8/100 The prices are inexpensive, you can get a lot on your plate for less than 10 bucks. It's located right beside Wendy's and Subway, yet it doesn't get much attention. The food is very healthy, I rather choose this place over process meat. They have a private parking in the front and back. This place has a full bar and a patio for people who like socialize. The place is ambient, trendy and modern Latin theme. Latin Chicks know how to churro. Churro is a cinnamon bun stick that comes in different flavors such as strawberry or chocolate. Cinnamon buns lovers should try it, it taste a lot better than the rolled up coil kind. The grilled chicken is tasty, and from my pictures it's awesome. The yellow rice is a lot more healthier choice than the fried rice i have been eating. It's absolutely good. Though they have lots of other sides i ordered the mash potato which was packed with real potato's. Overall, the food, service, and establishment is ideal for newcomers. Estrella is the real star of this place. If it wasn't for this lady, my review would be much lower. Not because of the food, but the service. They only had one person at the counter who is also responsible for the floor. He obviously could not keep up and took 30 mins to bring our appetizer of papa a la huancaina you the table. Thankfully for us, Estrella noticed and came toward us. She got our order out as quick as possible and brought us our family chicken, fried yuca, plátanos maduros and sauces. The chicken was good, the yuca amazing and Maduros perfectly cooked. She then brought out a churro that was incredibly delicious. Honestly, best churro I've had outside of Latin America. With that said, I highly recommend the food for take out because if your don't get to interact with Estrella service will probably be slow and mediocre at best. (She works in the kitchen). read more

We decided to try a quarantine adventure... get takeaway from the food truck, support a local business and have a nice dinner will social distancing. I grabbed two entrees, and a side....which came to $39. Then I asked for change and they could break a five... so I tipped $5. I was so so so excited to try this the rotisserie chicken entree came with plantains & beans and rice, the 3 street tacos came with beans & rice and then a side of "street" corn. The street tacos were petite was legit, beans and rice were even delicious.... but everything else really didn't have flavor, we were expecting more for the amount we spent. $5 for a side of street corn... which looked to be canned corn put into a white base. Overall no bueno, wouldn't recommend and disappointed on how much we spent. read more

This was the only truck in Starland Yard so I gave it a try. Ordered Cuban sandwich with fried plaintains. All of it was dripping in grease. I had indigestion for hours. The pork in the sandwich was tasteless. And the meal was $14 with no drink! I prefer Publix Cubano for $5. I'd say pass on this one. read more

Bursting with flavor! My wife and dropped in for our second visit to Latin Chucks and were rewarded with a very good meal. We started of with a beef empanada with is served with a small side of slaw. The empanadas have a nice flaky crust and tasty beef filling. I opted for the pork with mojo sauce which was accompanied with a choice of two sides and I selected the green bean and carrots with fried plantains. All of the choices were very tasty with nice size portions. My wife had the pollo saltado. This chicken dish is prepared with wine, onions and peppers. The chicken was very moist and well seasoned. She choose black beans and rice with a cabbage and zucchini side. Both sides were good but the cabbage and zucchini was a little bland compared to the other dishes. We spilt an order of skinny churros with for dessert. This was a large order of five churros played with chocolate sauce. The nurses at our doctors office recommended this restaurant to us. We were warmly greeted and the menu explained. We ordered the Latin bowls which were extremely tasty and filling! Fresh ingredients with wonderful flavor. I couldn't eat all of mine. Definitely will return! read more
