Top tier restaurant for Jamaican food. Truly authentic. Some of the specialty items are cooked to…read moreorder such as the stew shrimp, but if you're like me I don't mind waiting for fresh food. Island Breeze can be difficult to find if you're not familiar with the area. Located on Montgomery Street next door to BoBo's seafood and across the street from an auto body shop. The customer service is good but as a native New Yorker I expect a little attitude from all Carribean restaurants, that's how I know the food is going to be amazing. Haha. I don't get attitude from anyone here but I've called in orders before and the person has definitely been short with me. Again, not a negative because the food is bomb. The inside is small so not made for a crowd. I tend to order my food and then wait in my car or order ahead so the food is ready when I arrive. It gets very busy in there especially at lunch time and if you're like me and always want a patty, make sure to double check because they sell out quickly.

I decided to go with the brown stew fish with rice and peas and mac and cheese as my side. My friend ordered the turkey wings with white rice and sweet green peas. The lady taking our order did let us know that it would be a while for our order to be completed since the fish is cooked to order. There was a small seating area adjacent to the ordering area, so we sat there while waiting for our food to be done. It took a little longer than expected, but the food was definitely worth the wait. The fish was very flavorful and was packed with onions and peppers. The rice and peas paired well with the fish and sauce. The mac and cheese was just okay. My friend thought the turkey wings had a great flavor, but were slightly overcooked. I would come back again the next time I'm in town, but would definitely order ahead to cut down on the wait time.

Come here two Saturday's in a row because it was so good! Was a bit deceived with the name, lol…read more I'm Haitian and was hoping it was Haitian food, but this Caribbean/Southern spot hits the spot. The staff here is so sweet! They really help with making decisions and even offer samples if you're indecisive(like me). They wear masks when packaging food and have an outdoor seating area. Both times I got my food to go, and was in and out pretty quickly. The homemade tropical punch is so good! If ordering a "made to order" menu item, expect to wait about 15 minutes. The curry shrimp is one of those items and I was not disappointed. My friend also got curry goat and the pork chop and both were SO GOOD! As always, I do wish they have more meat, but this is something I'm used to from Caribbean restaurants. BUT- they have all things on the menu when I went in, something that doesn't always happen at the Caribbean joints I'm used to. This is the second Caribbean spot I've tried in the Savannah area, and this is tops!

The BBQ Jerk Ribs, the Brown Chicken Stew, Jerk Chicken, and Lamb Stew have all been excellent. Their collard greens are a reason to go back all their own. Everything my wife and I have tried has been tasty. They are great about following COVID guidance.

This is definitely a takeout spot, with two table tops and a small waiting area and front counter. However, this small place packs a big punch! They have a pretty extensive menu, which includes of variety of both jerk and Curry options as well as oxtails. They also have patties and several desserts. I ended up ordering the combo curry goat and oxtail platter with rice and peas, plantains and then a beef Patty and a slice of Red Velvet cake. I thought the food was really well done, well, seasoned, and excellent in terms of quality and quality. The patties were equally authentic and had the adequate amount of meat filling you would want. The only criticism was the red velvet, which I didn't think was legitimate Red Velvet, but rather red cake mix with a cream cheese icing. That being said, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't authentic Red Velvet. Service was also prompt and helpful with no more than a 7 to 8 minute weight from start to finish. Overall, I would definitely rate this as one of the better restaurants I have had a chance to enjoy in Savannah so far. Looking forward to another visit!

Without question, one of the best dining experiences we've had in Savannah!…read more Sisters of the New South exceeded every expectation. The food was absolutely outstanding, from the quality and preparation to the incredible flavor of every dish. I ordered the fried pork chops, which were perfectly crispy on the outside, thick, tender, and incredibly juicy on the inside. The green lima beans were seasoned beautifully, and the Southern-style baked macaroni and cheese was exceptional. My husband ordered the smothered pork chops and was equally impressed. Every single item we tried was delicious. What made the experience even better was the outstanding customer service. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive, making us feel genuinely appreciated as customers. It's rare to find a restaurant where the food and service are both this exceptional. Sisters of the New South has easily earned the number one spot on our list of favorite restaurants in Savannah. If you're looking for authentic Southern cooking prepared with care and full of flavor, this is the place. We will absolutely be back!
