The owners were so kind. The guy taking my order was super helpful. Amazing prices and weekly specials.

Love this place I was visiting from out of town and really wanted a seafood boil place all the places that I found didn't have a five out of five review on yelp when I found this place I went. There isn't much seating inside but food was made fresh order there was a little bit of weight but when you're getting fresh food, it's gonna be that way they're really nice and friendly food was 10 out of 10 only thing that I wish Was maybe I ended up getting the sampler bucket and I don't like shrimp or sausage. I just wanted the snow crabs and there wasn't just like a snow crab bucket so they offered to swap out shrimp and sausages for more potatoes and corn, which is great but it would've been nice if I could've got an extra cluster. Still 10 out of 10 would definitely go back.

Extremely good seafood, if your looking for a crab bucket this is the place to go. Service was great, really nice people.

Lemon pepper wings flavor profile-delicious. Needed more time in the fryer.

I was traveling home to Florida and stopped in to get something good to eat so of course I yelped seafood and this spot had high ratings. Upon arrival I didn't realize it was a take-out spot only. I was as hoping to sit down for a quick meal then hit the road before too late. The lady at the register was warm in welcoming me and very pleasant throughout my visit. I was introduced to the owners which was an added bonus. If I had more time I wouldn't have mind the lengthy time it took to prepare the meal. I waited for quite some time to complete the order which only required the 5 piece lemon pepper wings. Almost an hour wait. I had to ask them to pull them so that I can eat in the car quickly then hit the road. All of the flavors were there (fish, seafood dressing and greens) but the wings needed more time in the fryer (one fryer was broken, on a Sunday, with specials going on) to get the job done. A back up plan is vital to running a business. The owners were amazing! Sweet, willing to offer additional food items as a kind gesture and just plain good people. Next time (I'm open to another visit, the food is that good), I will definitely be sure to have time and patience to see the process through. On another note... I've eaten at lobster shacks and hole-in-the wall spots serving up good food. I believe that we can do better on the decorum. At the very least the entry/waiting area should be well organized and comfortable for customers to feel good while waiting. Panels of the ceiling falling down, fans blowing, and clutter around the soda machines just won't cut it. We can do better and I'm saying this with the utmost respect and love for this family business. The food is so good, better preparation for mishaps, organizing the waiting area, and tidying up the spot is critical.

An amazing little hole in the wall restaurant. Their wing and fired ribs are to die for. Really friendly people. Would recommend to anyone!!

It will take some time to get your food if you get the fried chicken but it is worth it! It's cooked fresh to order. Hubby ordered the ox tail special with mash potatoes, green beans, mac and cheese. Daughter ordered four piece fried chicken with sweet potatoes, and I ordered the three piece fried chicken with greens. Some of our sides were an upcharge but it was worth it. Everything was delicious, we shared our sides. Hubby ordered banana pudding and finished it before we got out of the bathroom! The bathrooms are unisex and so clean and cute! The food did take about 30 minutes to come out, which was a bit longer than expected. Overall, I'd rate the food a 3.9 out of 5;it was good, but not quite exceptional. One thing to note is that there's a 2% fee added for dining in, and some of the menu prices felt a bit on the higher side. That said, it was still a decent experience overall and worth trying if you're in the area.

It honestly reminds me of that 'Country Greek' hospitality where nobody leaves hungry. The food is just phenomenal. That Fried Chicken is easily some of the best in the South, perfectly crispy and seasoned. I couldn't get enough of the Sweet Potato Soufflé and the Creamed Corn, which was so fresh and rich. The Macaroni and Cheese was exactly how it should be, thick and flavorful with that perfect baked crust. Every bowl they brought out was delicious, from the Butter Beans to the Flaky Biscuits. If you look at the photos, the sheer amount of food is mind-blowing. It's like a massive family feast every single day. Eating on Jones Street in such a historic spot makes the whole thing feel like a core memory. It is absolutely worth the wait.

The restaurant is communal style and only opened from 11am-2pm. There are about 8 oval shaped tables total that can seat approximately 8-10 people per table. I believe they said they can seat 75 total. When you go inside, at each table they'll have sweet tea and plenty of dishes of food for you to choose from already on the table. The options included fried chicken, sweet cornbread, biscuits, green beans, black eyed peas, Mac n cheese, squash, okra, dirty rice, collard greens, potatoes au gratin, Lima beans, pulled pork, beef stew, mashed sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, potato salad, and maybe a few more options. You pass the dishes around the table and load your plate up until your heart is content. The best items to me were the fried chicken, sweet cornbread, and peach cobbler. The dirty rice was undercooked and there were hard pieces. Everything else was just sustenance. If you're a vegetarian, your options will be limited to sides only. You might be able to have squash, Mac n cheese, and maybe potato salad. Many of the items are cooked with meat or made with beef or chicken stock. It's $35 flat per person. Based on the 2 hour and 15 minute wait, I don't think the food was worth it. If the wait was 30 mins to 45 mins, maybe.

The location is outside the city and you would need to drive from the city center. The cafe is to the right of the church, with a glass door that's in-between the restaurant and church building. I had heard the fried chicken was excellent and was aiming for that. Sadly, the restaurant ran out so I went for plan B: braised oxtails. The oxtails were fantastic: full of savory flavor swimming in a really nice gravy that wasn't too thick. Putting it on top of my red rice made for wonderful comfort food. The red rice, which wasn't mushy at all, had a bit of tartness and there was a fairly substantial tomato flavor to it. The other sides were more pedestrian. The braised cabbage was rather bland and lacked any personality. I only ate it because I needed to feel better for myself that I ate some vegetables. The mac n' cheese wasn't creamy but it was passable. The mac was more like a casserole. Service was friendly throughout and professional. It's a church cafeteria that's actually worth going out for.
