So you're supposed to wait to be seated (to get a table number), then go up and order and they bring your food to your table. When I arrived, there was nobody at the maitre'd stand so I just got in line like the other two parties ahead of me. I quickly figured things out and made my order of the fried Fish and Shrimp platter with cajun fries. I just came from the gym so I was pretty hungry. The food came out piping hot and it was simply delicious. The food was fried/cooked perfectly with no excess oil. Portion wise, I feel that I got good value for my money. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try but I guess I'll have to visit again! read more

Once you get sat and decide what to order, you go to the counter to order. We went ahead and ordered the fried shrimp po'boy with sweet potato fries and crawfish steamed boil. The total came out to be around $40 with tip of course. The po'boy and fries were so flavorful; the seasoning was all there and so fresh. The crawfish was good too. It comes with potatoes and 2 corn on the cobs, but it was hard to get the meat out of the tail (I've been told that means it's not as fresh as it should be). This was my first time here and a friend of mine loves this place and wanted to eat here while we were in town. She loves the shrimp tacos and that's what she got, but I decided to get the fried calamari cone and a side of potato salad with a nice cold beer and it was perfect. I do not even generally like potato salad nor do I like coleslaw but I knew the cone had coleslaw in it so I risked it anyway and figured out what the heck and the risk was worth it! Both were really delicious. The coleslaw was mostly at the bottom of the cone and I do wish it would've been spread throughout a little bit better but still it was really really good with the calamari and the waffle cone itself was edible and very tasty. My total was only $20.87 and I don't think that's bad at all for a touristy area with great flavorful food. We were on foot so we didn't have to worry about parking or anything and our wait time was less than 10 minutes in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. We were excited to try this place because we all love fried clams and while they don't have whole belly ones, the strips were worth a try. I have to say that it turns out the clam strips are not their strong suit. The boil bags seem to be the hit item and I would try that if I went back. The clam strips were more breading than anything and the breading was too heavy. We also had some clam chowder which was okay and an oyster cone which was a fun novelty, but the slaw underneath was a little strange. It's super casual (order at the front counter amd they bring your food to your table) but everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. When you walk in, you're told your table number or get seated with the menus then walk to the counter to order and it'll be brought out to the table. This was our first stop in Savannah the night we arrived and we weren't disappointed! We snagged a seat right by the window and ended up spotting Bert Kreischer walking down the sidewalk while we waited for our food! I got the low country boil and it was good, not great. The shrimp were overcooked and she shell was really hard to peel off. The corn and sausage that come in the bag were delicious. The seasoning was spicy! I love spicy but it was lighting me up so watch out for that. My husband got the crawfish boil and added sausage. He liked it and ended up helping me finish mine. My friend and I were craving a seafood boil, and chose Savannah Seafood Shack based on its good reviews. They weren't super busy on a Friday evening, and the interior had a casual vibe. The decor was nautical-themed, with fishing net on the ceiling, and sea creature wall art. We seated ourselves and then went up to order at the counter. I chose the The Love Shack Steamin Combo, which was a little on the pricy side, but included Shrimp, Crawfish, Clams, Mussels, and Snow Crab Legs. It also came with potatoes and corn on the cob, which I wasn't able to substitute for any other sides. Service was quick and our Steamin Combos came out in plastic bags, with bibs (super necessary), crab crackers/utensils, lemon, and garlic butter. The portion size was perfect and I ended up finishing all the seafood, but eating it was a whole project (mostly in a fun way). The Crab was my favorite part and went so well with the garlic butter.
