    Harvest Salad

I stopped by here for a quick lunch before heading out of Savannah. We only ordered a few appetizers and did not try the main courses here. For appetizers we had the fried green tomoatoes, harvest salad, and Lobster and Lump Crab Bisque. All three were delicious and filling, especially the bisque. If you come here, I recommend you try the lobster and lump crab bisque. The service here was very quick and accomodating. I asked the waiter to remove the pecans from the salad and they were able to accomodate me. The restaraunt also offers outdoor and indoor seating. Only thing I want to note is that if you do sit outdoors, the fans above the table are a little low, so watch your head.

Excellent service, really good food, and beautiful presentation! The crabcakes, the tomato salad, and the salmon, not pictured, were outstanding.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining there this evening. The restaurant is set on the river and the inside is upscale without being haughty. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the Oscar grouper. Both meals were fabulous our experience was enhanced by our server Clint R. He was attentive and made several great recommendations. Kudos to the kitchen staff for a wonderful meal. Highly recommend to any and all! Lindsay and Linda Johnson

Lobster soup although not "bisque" was delicious. The famous salad "like a Caesar" was very, very mediocre. Honestly, it comes with dressing on the side which was surprising but the lettuce and the dressing were identical to Costco's and Sam's. I'd be shocked if that isn't where it was from. Crab cake was pretty good but was undercooked. It also looked like it had a bite out of it before it got to us as you can see in my photo. We sat outside and it was a beautiful evening. Without that this might have earned a 2 star review!

Stopped in for lunch when they opened. Everyone was very nice and inviting. Staff gave great recommendations for food and drinks. Restaurant had an old time feel which we loved. Prices seemed a little high but not a deal breaker. Food was great. Overall we enjoyed our experience here.

We flew in to Savannah for lunch and had the crab dip, fried green tomatoes, grouper Oscar and cheese cake for dessert. Everything was delicious!!

We recently visited for dinner to celebrate both of my parents Birthdays while in town. Loved the atmosphere and location (parking lot directly across the street if you're lucky) and service was very friendly (with the exception of the check-in gentleman stationed out front who had quite an unwelcoming demeanor). We were pleased that the tables didn't feel crammed together, offering a bit more room to breathe and enjoy your own group. Great menu variety and pricing was fair. My father found his steak tasty but a tad tough and my mom adored her salmon. I found my baked chicken dish to be very flavorful, and the sweet potato mash side delectable. Apparently they don't do anything special for anyone there to celebrate a special day, but overall it was a very good meal. The only low spot was the restroom situation. On approach, quite a bit of toilet paper strewn about outside and an extra unpleasant odor inside the women's. Of course one doesn't expect the most pleasant of aromas in a bathroom, but this one was more like that of a port o potty than a nice restaurant.

This place was just okay! Staff were friendly for the most part (until I tried to use the bathroom as they were closing). Food wasn't great, my French fries tasted a little old and the shrimp and lobster roll wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I did like the blue crab dip!! But vibes are cool! We had dogs so had to sit outside here but it was nice outside right on the river walk.

We went to River House Seafood as the 2nd stop on our food crawl in Savannah. We ordered the Escargot for a little snack. It came with 4 slices of bread and 2 lemons to eat with the escargot. The sauce had a good sweet and savory butter flavor the coated the escargot. I wish there was more bread with the escargot - the bread to escargot ratio wasn't good, there needs at least 4 more pieces of bread to go with the 20 pieces of escargot. The service was good. We went there with the intentions to get in and out, and that met our expectations. I enjoyed the vibe too, especially the aesthetic of the restaurant. They kept the interior original it seems, and matches the Savannah vibe.

Best thing i can say is the outside eating on the Savannah river is a beautiful location..NOW the rest Appetizers, cornbread oysters came bathed in the mignonette sauce as opposed to the menu described drizzle. The mignonette sauce tasted like plain vinegar and worse they came out warm. Second appetizer, lobster and crab bisque - worst rendition of lobster bisque we"ve had.. NO lobster , no sherry and worse it came warm Entrees Mahi sandwich with coleslaw - the coleslaw is where they should have put some of the excess vinegar and blackened flounder sandwich with fries - showing consistency the fries came warm Tired of the slow service , the warm food and the at best weak flavors we opted to skip dessert. For a beer the place is fine , for a meal id keep searching

Food was good! We were having a hard time finding somewhere local with a "normal" menu ( as visitors we found a lot of the restaurants have more creative dishes) and decided to come here. The salmon dinner was good and we were both happy. It has a nice ambiance and the service was good

Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.

Arrived to see a much more limited menu than their normal menu that we were excited about. I ordered blackened shrimp basket, my boyfriend had the low country boil, and my friend had the mahi sandwich. We also came for oysters and came to see that they only were offering just one style of oysters. They came out small and with no accompaniments aside from lemon. It was hard to stomach paying $42 for 12 tiny oysters (later seeing their prices were actually upcharged from their normal menu). Service was fine. They were attentive but seemed disorganized and comfused because we had two different servers come to take our orders at different times. At one point they ended up bringing us our waters and drink order twice. The good: Beautiful location on the water perfect for scenery and people watching. The cocktail we had was pretty delicious. All in all the food was just fine. Best dish was probably my blackened shrimp. We probably won't return even for an off holiday trip because the small amount of food for the upcharged prices were not worth it.

It was giving chain restaurant a little more than I expected. We tried the grilled oyster sampler, and while they all looked slightly different, somehow they all tasted like variations of Rockefeller. I could not tell you which was which. The she-crab soup? Absolutely not. Zero flavor. I took one bite and sent it back, and I rarely send food back. The shrimp & grits were... interesting. Very sweet, very corn-forward, and the texture was more porridge/cream of wheat than the thick, savory grits I had in mind. Was it terrible? No. On a rainy day, I could actually see myself eating a bowl of it. But if you tell me shrimp & grits, my mouth has already prepared for something completely different. Now--the fried green tomatoes? THAT was the star. Crispy, topped with a little crab salad and this hot sauce that pulled the whole thing together. The crab cakes were pretty solid too, especially with the two sauces, and the collard greens were tender and well done. Overall, I'd come back for lunch, oysters, drinks and a few appetizers. But dinner reservation? I'm not jumping through hoops. Savannah has too many really good restaurants for that. 3/5 -- cute, fun, a few hits, but the food needed a little more love.

Sitting along the river while watching massive cargo ships slowly make their way toward the Atlantic creates one of those uniquely Savannah experiences you simply can't find anywhere else. Our server, Matthew, was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely made the evening even more enjoyable. Service like his is a big part of what turns a great meal into an unforgettable one. Now, the food... The crab cake was one of the best I've ever had--easily 95% lump crab with barely any filler. Just fresh, sweet crab prepared perfectly. The beef carpaccio was elegant, incredibly flavorful, and disappeared far too quickly. Then came the French onion soup. There's a reason the National Onion Association recognized it as the best. Rich, deeply caramelized, perfectly balanced, and topped with a blanket of bubbling cheese. Without question, the best French onion soup I've ever had. The black truffle scallops were buttery, tender, and absolutely decadent. The evening's special--a blackened filet paired with shrimp linguine--was phenomenal. The filet was cooked to perfection, and the shrimp linguine brought bold Cajun flavors that made us feel like we had been transported straight to Louisiana. To finish it all off, watching enormous cargo ships leave the Port of Savannah bound for destinations around the world while enjoying an incredible meal is an experience all its own. Vic's on the River delivered on every level: exceptional food, first-class service, and an atmosphere that's impossible to duplicate. This wasn't just another dinner--it was one of the highlights of our trip to Savannah. Don't leave without ordering the French onion soup.
