We flew in to Savannah for lunch and had the crab dip, fried green tomatoes, grouper Oscar and cheese cake for dessert. Everything was delicious!!

This place was just okay! Staff were friendly for the most part (until I tried to use the bathroom as they were closing). Food wasn't great, my French fries tasted a little old and the shrimp and lobster roll wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I did like the blue crab dip!! But vibes are cool! We had dogs so had to sit outside here but it was nice outside right on the river walk.

Im here!!! Lets see if it was worth the drive!

We recently visited for dinner to celebrate both of my parents Birthdays while in town. Loved the atmosphere and location (parking lot directly across the street if you're lucky) and service was very friendly (with the exception of the check-in gentleman stationed out front who had quite an unwelcoming demeanor). We were pleased that the tables didn't feel crammed together, offering a bit more room to breathe and enjoy your own group. Great menu variety and pricing was fair. My father found his steak tasty but a tad tough and my mom adored her salmon. I found my baked chicken dish to be very flavorful, and the sweet potato mash side delectable. Apparently they don't do anything special for anyone there to celebrate a special day, but overall it was a very good meal. The only low spot was the restroom situation. On approach, quite a bit of toilet paper strewn about outside and an extra unpleasant odor inside the women's. Of course one doesn't expect the most pleasant of aromas in a bathroom, but this one was more like that of a port o potty than a nice restaurant.

We went to River House Seafood as the 2nd stop on our food crawl in Savannah. We ordered the Escargot for a little snack. It came with 4 slices of bread and 2 lemons to eat with the escargot. The sauce had a good sweet and savory butter flavor the coated the escargot. I wish there was more bread with the escargot - the bread to escargot ratio wasn't good, there needs at least 4 more pieces of bread to go with the 20 pieces of escargot. The service was good. We went there with the intentions to get in and out, and that met our expectations. I enjoyed the vibe too, especially the aesthetic of the restaurant. They kept the interior original it seems, and matches the Savannah vibe.

Best thing i can say is the outside eating on the Savannah river is a beautiful location..NOW the rest Appetizers, cornbread oysters came bathed in the mignonette sauce as opposed to the menu described drizzle. The mignonette sauce tasted like plain vinegar and worse they came out warm. Second appetizer, lobster and crab bisque - worst rendition of lobster bisque we"ve had.. NO lobster , no sherry and worse it came warm Entrees Mahi sandwich with coleslaw - the coleslaw is where they should have put some of the excess vinegar and blackened flounder sandwich with fries - showing consistency the fries came warm Tired of the slow service , the warm food and the at best weak flavors we opted to skip dessert. For a beer the place is fine , for a meal id keep searching

We took an ride share to this restaurant so we don't know how the parking is. There were cars driving in front of the restaurant, but there was no visible place for cars to park. The view of the river at this restaurant is perfect. When we entered, we crossed their very busy bar and we walked into a large restaurant. It was clean with white table cloths and not many people at the tables. By time we left every table was taken and there was a wait outside. So, go early to be seated quickly. We started with the fried green tomatoes and the cup of lobster bisque. For entrees, we shared the southern fried chicken and the shrimp & grits. The little one love the bisque and the fried tomatoes. Added bonus : 10% military discount year round

For a late evening dinner, we stopped in here and sat at the bar for a relaxing time. Though there were plenty of tables available we were told there'd be a 25 minute wait. I presume it was a staffing issue. This was fine as the bartender was friendly and attentive to us. My colleagues got French onion soup, and the bisque soup. The French onion soup I was told was OK, but the bisque left a little to be desired in the area of taste. We also ordered some crab dip to share. The chips they give you to dip were unique but good. The dip left a lot to be desired. I think the only crab thing about it was in the title of the description. It lacked taste and lacked the crab. For dinner, I ordered what the bartender said was her favorite, the crispy fried catfish. It took a bit of time for the meal to come out, but that was OK because when it came out, it was hot. The catfish was a good size but was on the fishy tasting side. Not necessarily much flavor yet flaky. The fish sat in a bowl of shrimp and andouille creole sauce with a piece of cornbread. The sauce also included sausage. The sauce I thought was very good. A lot of flavor with just a hint of spice and hotness. Neither of my colleagues liked their entrée. One got the. pecan bourbon salmon, and the other gut shrimp and grits. Both of them said it wasn't very tasty leaving a lot to be desired. One interesting anecdote, a couple sat next to us who were clearly in their 60s. The bartender asked them for ID and since the gentleman didn't have one, she told him she could not serve him alcohol.

It was a very hot day in Savanna,Georgia, and as a warm breeze came down the boardwalk, we happened to come across a facade that seemed to whisper to our souls to enter our doors. So, like moths to a flame, we entered. We were sat down and i ordered a pepper jelly chicken sandwich. Upon first bite, it was as if noisy wheels of joy started turning in my mind. This establishment was absolute cinema. My papa ordered a plate of shrimp and grits and wouldn't stop shaking his head so slowly like Stevie enjoying his music so blindly. Mom ordered an oyster po boy and was also was delighted.

Beautiful place on the river. The place was clean but you can tell it was old from the beautiful bricks on the walls and floors. The She-Crab Soup was more reddish than I have had in the past but did have a lot of crab and not hot or anintense of a crab flavor but still worth the $7 cup. The crab cake was a big fat grilled single cake but it was full of crabmeat at and delicious. Would absolutely get agai. The Grouper Oscar was grilled perfectly, not overcooked. The pot a toes and Veggies were cooked perfectly too. The 'crabmeat' topper was more of a mush or foam topping but it did have a crabish flavor too. It was delicious. Ambiance is more of a white table cloth upscale dining experience. We had a bloody Mary at the rooftop bar upstairs while we waited for our table.

I don't give 1-star reviews unless something goes horribly wrong, but I'll say I should have gone in with much lower expectations on the food. First, I will say I really dig the brick surroundings, and the location is great. Waitress was okay at best, only saw her a few times. It was the food that was wildly disappointing. Even though I was on my own, I ordered a few things just to try. The "beer cheese" (words used loosely) with the pretzel was more a milky liquified buttery substance that was nauseating. The scallops were oversauced and undersized. The lobster ravioli was virtually tasteless. $100 meal for a single person shouldn't make you mad. I should have just stuck with fried shrimp. Maybe I'll give it a second try next time I'm in town, but there are far better places to eat - I mean, most other places in Savannah.

Stop reading this, get a reservation, and go eat at this AMAZING restaurant. We love going to Savannah for vacation trips and this is always a must stop for us. For this trip we were in town for 2 nights and we ate at River House both nights. It's THAT GOOD. The service is amazing. It's white tablecloth and five star service. The menu is to die for. I always have a hard time deciding on what to eat becuase of the amazing options. First night there I had the grouper Oscar. The second night I had the blackened flounder. Their food is simply fresh, tasty, and perfect. Our server on night one was Leslie. She has a beautiful smile and was an amazing server for our table. Gave me great suggestions. Our server on night two was Sydney and we thought no one could compete with Leslie but she proved us wrong! She kept our drinks full, and stayed right with us throughout -- she was so good and got my largest tip of the weekend. And deserved it! The place is nice and semi-dark inside. Beautiful inside with great views of the river.

The menu is short and straightforward for lunch at least. Not a large selection, focusing on various fish and shellfish dishes revolving around shrimp, fish and chips, and oysters primarily. If you're looking for a burger or wings, you're not going to find one here. So take note. I enjoyed my crab cake BLT immensely with bacon and tarragon aioli. I also added some Cholula for good measure, as I like the creaminess of that hot sauce with the saltiness and savoriness of the crab cake and bacon on the sandwich. Overall, service was solid, and our drinks and food orders were taken fairly quickly. We enjoyed the view outside, as the skies were clear and not too chilly for the time of year we were there in November. But I'm sure it can get more nippy as you enter the winter months -- my Florida blood is speaking, so pay that no mind.

Steer away from Anna's gumbo as it was inedible. The taste was so weird and so salty it was like eating salt. The shrimp was hard inside. Unfortunately I had to throw away $16 of gumbo. There was a worker that was just constantly eating French fries with his gloves on near the takeout station.
