We were just walking past this restaurant and decided to pop in for a quick drink and snack. My husband and I shared the fish tacos. Three tacos were only $15. The restaurant is quiet and pretty. They were serving brunch while we were in there. I'd definitely go back for sure.

Really wonderful meal and attentive service by our waiter Rick. We had the Parker house tools, diver scallops and coastal 15 cioppino dish and all were served piping hot and seasoned so well. The restaurant had a nice vibe and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

I stayed at the Bohemian Hotel and this is the adjoining restaurant. Open, modern space, though fairly generic by today's standards. Great views of the river and has standard seating, bar seating, lounge seating, and outdoor/sidewalk seating. So lots to choose from. I attended dinner Sunday night around 5:30 PM and it was not crowded at all, only a couple tables and a few bar patrons. My server, who is also a bartender at the restaurant, was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Receipt says her name was Valerie. I had the short rib boursin ravioli with sprouts, mushrooms, and carrot. The dish description makes it sound like a hearty dish, but it's a little pretentious in the way it's like three ravioli and some little green sprouts thrown on top. The texture was good, but the flavor was lacking. Other dishes available and maybe a little more filling: pan roasted salmon, grilled sea bass, corn meal crusted fish and grits, scallops, hanger steak. I had the parmesan fries as a side. They were thick and hot and crisp, so those were a win. They also have small plates featuring hush puppies, gumbo, and beets and goat cheese. Drinks weren't astounding. I had a spritz like drink that was refreshing and light and would make a good to go drink. I also had the caracola, made with two types of rum, lime, aperol, orgeat, and falernum. This drink, served flaming, was pleasing. And I finished with a to go margarita made the way the server likes her own. I would definitely try this place again if staying at the Bohemian, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to dine here otherwise, given how many options there are in Savannah. But it was a decent experience and the server (Valerie!) was awesome!

We spent Christmas in Savannah and met our friends at this great hangout as they stayed at the Bohemian Hotel. Awesome as it's super central and there's also a rooftop bar. Who really made the experience memorable was our bartender Rick who went above and beyond to make sure we're well taken care of. Oh yes, those Van Gogh Vodka Cider Mules are sumptuous, tasty and in a great container. 10/10 for Rick's craftsmanship and attention. Highly recommended!

Had lunch here one afternoon while in the area. The restaurant is located on the lower floor, on the water front side. We had reservations at 2:00 and was greeted walking in by the hostess and seated in the same moment. The restaurant is newer on the inside, but there was an obvious sewer smell coming from the area in the eatery where we sat. It did affect the dining experience, so much so we moved ourselves to another table a few tables away. It helped but did not remove the smell. Our servers were okay, but not in sync with each other and there were long lags between them showing up to check on us. Drink glasses (water) not refilled when empty. Having to track down our server in order to place a second libation order as well, it did not impress as we had hoped. The food was okay, perhaps even good but between the foul smells coming from the sewage and lack of quality service. It definitely affected our lunch overall. 3 Stars it is what it is 01079

It was okay. Drinks were not that strong. The brussels sprouts were amazing. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Just didn't like the side that came with it.

Beautiful place right on river street inside the Bohemian Hotel. They offer breakfast, brunch, small bites and dinner. They have a great dining that has seating overlooking the river and you can see the huge cargo ships go by. They have a cool drink that serves 2-4 ppl with gin and comes in a cute "message in a bottle." I enjoyed their tuna poke and crispy chicken sandwich as well as their cinnamon crunch French toast from their breakfast menu. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Pranay, Thompson, Ray, and Mary all took care of me while I stayed there.

Cute restaurant right on the river in beautiful historic district Savannah. We sat outside to enjoy the refreshing and cool air. Service was wonderful and very attentive. The bacon and chorizo quiche was yummy and filling. It also came with a side of fresh fruit. The bowl of grits was huge and delicious, as southern grits should be. The salmon and cream cheese bagel was very good. I highly recommend.

This restaurant is located inside the Bohemian hotel. You can enter from the hotel lobby side (4th floor on elevator) or the River Street entrance (floor 1* on the elevator). If you come in lobby side go to the elevators on the left and press 1* and it opens up to the restaurant. They have a bar that seats 15 approx and then the waitress stand on the restaurant side. We had a reservation for 8:30 and I think you would be fine without one too. This was on a Thursday night in the summertime (July 2025). Lisa, our server was a highlight of our visit. She was knowledgeable about the menu, made good recommendations and also chatted with us about other places to visit while we were in Savannah. She took the extra time to do that which we both thought was exceptional, over and beyond service. For dinner, we started with a half dozen oysters and the hushpuppies. The seasonal oysters for the the night were the salt bombs from Savannah. They were tiny little things but decent oysters. I enjoyed the hot sauce lemon juice combination the best on them. The hush puppies were a miss, I wouldn't order them again. I thought there would be actual pieces of shrimp or lobster in them. They were kind of like a fried corn bread instead? And served with a nice butter and I think honey spread. Fine but nothing special. Next course we got the Caesar salad and the beet whipped feta appetizer. Salad was a basic salad I thought the dressing was authentic and thick you could taste the anchovies in a good way. The beet and whipped feta was the standout dish for me. It was a single beet sliced thin on top of a whipped feta with some nuts I think pistachio around it. 10/10 I would go back just to sit at the bar, order this and have the Savannah sangria and be happy! For dinner, we got the seabass and the cioppino. Seabass was fine. They serve the entire fillet so the spine is in the middle. It was mild tasting. Nothing earth shattering. It was on a bed of lettuce with Parmesan cheese, tomato's and fennel. Light. Nice to eat when you're doing lots of courses. The cioppino was excellent. Shrimp, muscles and clams with a nice savory tomato broth and sourdough. Perfectly done!

This place was so good- I would def come back. It's on River street so was worried it would be packed but it was open. The staff was friendly, the decor is cute, a little high end. The gumbo had good flavor but it was lukewarm when it came out so I had to send it back to get warmed again. The scallops and mushroom risotto was very good, and the Brussel sprouts were perfect.

Went for our anniversary dinner, food was sooo good! The chocolate cake was a great finale. Amazing service & our server even brought us some celebratory champagne! We loved this place!

Had a very fine meal for my first time here. The food is really good. Oddly it's the staffing that leaves a bit to be desired. They had two waiters working the entire restaurant. They did pretty well, but the restaurant was 3/4 full on a Wednesday evening so everything probably took a little longer than it should. Having said that, I would definitely go back, the food is worth it. The restaurant interior is beautiful.

Great Happy Hour. Great beers. Great service. Beautiful seating right on the river front. Don't miss it.

Before our trip, one of my fraternity brothers told me that if I wanted some of the best Southern soul food in Savannah, I had to visit Mrs. Wilkes. He also warned me that there would be a long wait. Let me just say--he was absolutely right on both counts! We arrived at the restaurant and stood in line outside in the rain. We didn't get seated until 1:00 PM. Normally, I would not wait that long for a meal, but for the record, and I can't believe I'm saying this--it was worth every minute of the wait. The experience was unlike any restaurant I've ever visited. My wife and I were seated at a large table with approximately eight other people whom we had never met. Yet within minutes, it felt like we were dining with family. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and filled with genuine Southern hospitality. The food was simply outstanding. Every traditional Southern dish you can imagine was brought to the table and passed family-style from person to person. The home-cooked flavors reminded me of the meals many of us grew up enjoying. Everything was delicious, and the desserts were just as impressive. What made the experience even more special was the sense of community. People of different backgrounds and races were dining together, sharing food, conversation, and fellowship. The staff worked together seamlessly and went out of their way to make every guest feel welcome. While we waited in line, a gracious lady shared the history of the restaurant and the legacy of Mrs. Wilkes herself. The staff even provided umbrellas to guests who didn't have one--including me--which was a thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes about their commitment to customer service. From the food, to the hospitality, to the rich history and unique family-style dining experience, Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room exceeded every expectation. If you're visiting Savannah, this is not just a meal--it's an experience. I proudly give Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room a 5 out of 5-star rating and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah.

The cabbage tasted like it had been boiled in plain water with absolutely no seasoning. Both the red rice and the New Orleans rice reminded us of Minute Rice or Uncle Ben's microwavable rice--bland, lacking flavor, and nothing like the rich, seasoned rice dishes we were expecting. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned, and the potato wedges were cooked perfectly, but those two items weren't enough to save the meal. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. The refund came through exactly as he said it would. To be clear, the food on my visit genuinely missed, and I'm not pretending otherwise. But Tyler responded publicly, owned it, and followed through completely. That kind of accountability is rare, and it's what earned the bump. Credit where it's due on the space, too -- the ambiance is genuinely great. Warm, candle-lit dining room, an open kitchen, a well-stocked bar, and a covered patio that had a real buzz to it. It's a spot that looks and feels like somewhere you want to be, which is exactly why I'd give the kitchen another shot based on how the owner runs this place. --- Original review (2 stars): Disappointing birthday dinner. Came in for my birthday and left underwhelmed. Our server Troy was the one bright spot -- professional and attentive all night. Caesar salad: Several bitter pieces of lettuce, and no black pepper offered or available. Faroe Island salmon: Overly buttery like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The shishito cream sauce was way too acidic -- tasted like uncooked wine or vinegar. Crispy rice cakes were bland and a strange pairing (rice blocks with salmon?). The baby bok choy was decent until the sauce drowned it out. Braised beef short rib: Tender but flavorless. The mashed potatoes tasted old, not fresh that evening. To top it off, my wife had arranged ahead of time for the birthday dessert to be brought out -- the message never reached Troy, so that moment never happened. Troy deserved better than what the kitchen sent out.
