Smothered rosemary porkchops with side of baked mac n cheese and corn bread.

Hidden GEM in Savannah that is located outside the tourist district. It's small and cozy, decorated with inspirational quotes inside and out, adorned with plants bring life to the dining area. The BEEF POT ROAST AND GRAVY was so good on my first visit, I wasn't sure I could order anything else. However I built up courage to try the SMOTHERED ROSEMARY PORKCHOPS. OMG...my new favorite. Super tender, moist and covered in a savory gravy. You select two sides. I love the CORN BREAD and BAKED MAC N CHEESE. I haven't tried any other sides yet. Corn bread is fluffy and buttery with touch of sweetness, while not being sweet. Baked mac n cheese is just pure goodness. This is delcicious down home cooking. It is comfort food. The owner is super friendly and hospitable. She works the order counter and I suspect she is integral in the food prep.

Very nice people. My Honey and I had dinner about 7pm. They close at 8pm. You order at a plexi-glass window. We had two people aged of us and it took a while for her to take our order. I orders were pot roast, green beans and mac&cheese, fried chicken collards and mac&cheese. The fried chicken is cooked to order. We ate at the reaturant. Seating is limited. We were challenged by the neighborhood beggars inside and outside. The food was okay nothing to rave about. The best part was the Mac& cheese. The collards taste out the can with no seasoning and the pot roast had no flavor. I first had scraps of the pot roast but asked for more meat and I was willing to pay. Meals were served in carry-out container and we used plastic utensils. The total was about $48.00. This meal was not worth that much especially being served with plastic items. I would not vote this resturant as the best soul food.

Ordered fried chicken, mac and cheese, broccoli, ox tails, and collards. As other people have said, the collards weren't very tasty because they're basically vegetarian. The chicken was a bit dry, but the breading was good. The oxtails were way over salted and it was just too much. The mac and cheese was enjoyable.

Service was great. Restaurant was clean! I loved all the little posters, photos and positive plaques. They ran out of sweet potatoes but were quick to get me something else.

Seriously some of the best food I've ever had. First time ever having oxtail (literally fall off the bone), mac and cheese and spinach. All of it top top notch!

I've lived in Savannah for a few months now and eaten pretty well. This was hands down the best meal I've had since moving here. And the service was not just friendly but warm and welcoming. I will be back a LOT.

Came across this location through a yelp search. The young lady taking our order was very polite and friendly. Funky classic rnb playing in the background. Indoor deco was like an indoor garden. Great variety of items on the menu. ( breakfast is served all day) I opted for the fried shrimp rice plate that included two sides. (10 medium shrimp on a bed of yellow rice- white rice is also and option, macaroni and cheese and greens so good make me wanna slap your mama lol) I highly recommend!!

Every time I come and trying something new the food gets better. And the owner (Rachel) is such a beautiful person. Her daughter is always nice and helps me make up my mind when I'm too hungry to make a decision. ‍

    I'm a sucker for a good sign!

This is a place where the name says it all. It's very inviting and not only are the staff nice and attentive, they make you feel at home! With that being said, the food is. . . made with love! I've been a few times before writing this as I didn't want the excitement to overshadow the truth. I'm here to tell you that some things can be too good to be true but this is not

This place is phenomenal, honestly each dish here is more delicious than the next. Completely from scratch! When I tell you the flavor/ seasonings are spot on...! Perfectly cooked....Heaven!!! Miss Rachel & staff....thank you for literally putting your heart and soul into this place.. it shows and I will be back several times a week

Me waiting on the meal of a lifetime!

Then they bring out the fried chicken on platters. 21 different bowls of southern dishes- okra, rutabagas, greens, beans, corn, biscuits and corn bread.... Oh my there was a lot. You will not go hungry as the staff are near each table and bringing refills of items needed. Then when you've had your fill, they bring by peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream on top and/or banana pudding! They take cash or check only. They thankfully had an ATM inside. But the man at the cash register said we could leave and go to our own bank if we wanted and come back to pay!! That wouldn't happen at very many places. Southern hospitality, great food, memories- it is all here. Don't miss this place when you come to Savannah!!

Looking back, we probably should've kept right on walking. We ordered the fried chicken, potato wedges, red rice, New Orleans rice, and cabbage, jalapeno cornbread and pecan cornbread. Unfortunately, the only things we actually enjoyed were the fried chicken and the potato wedges. Once again, it was an epic fail. The cabbage tasted like it had been boiled in plain water with absolutely no seasoning. Both the red rice and the New Orleans rice reminded us of Minute Rice or Uncle Ben's microwavable rice--bland, lacking flavor, and nothing like the rich, seasoned rice dishes we were expecting. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned, and the potato wedges were cooked perfectly, but those two items weren't enough to save the meal. We came hoping for authentic Southern comfort food, but left disappointed. Sadly, this is one restaurant we won't be adding to our list of places to revisit.

Because of that, I came in with fairly low expectations, but I left thoroughly impressed. The restaurant has a fascinating history and a great atmosphere, but what really stood out was the quality of the food. We started with a couple of appetizers, and every one of them was excellent. For our entrees, we tried the shrimp and grits and the fried seafood platter. The shrimp and grits were exceptional. The sauce had incredible depth of flavor, the grits were perfectly smooth and creamy, and the shrimp were cooked just right--tender, delicate, and never rubbery. The fried seafood platter was equally impressive. The white fish had a light, crisp breading that enhanced the flavor without overpowering it. The fish itself was moist, flaky, and cooked perfectly. The fried oysters practically melted in your mouth, with none of the graininess that fried oysters can sometimes have. The fried shrimp were outstanding as well--so good that several people at our table couldn't resist stealing a few from my plate! Our server was fantastic. He offered excellent recommendations, described each dish in detail, answered all of our questions, and checked on us regularly throughout the meal without ever being intrusive. We also enjoyed learning about the restaurant's history from a tour group that passed through while we were dining. Before leaving, we browsed the gift shop, which had a nice selection of pirate-themed memorabilia at very reasonable prices. Overall, this was an outstanding dining experience. It is one of the city's oldest buildings and originally served as an inn and gathering place for sailors and pirates. I would give the overall experience 3 stars mainly because the food did not live up to the setting. I'll admit, I kind of had a feeling looking at the buffet that it might not be the highlight, but I really wanted fried chicken, so I went for it. If you visit, I would recommend ordering à la carte rather than doing the buffet. The buffet was underwhelming - the fried chicken was decent and the mashed potatoes were good, but most of the other dishes were forgettable. The à la carte options looked much more appealing, and I would lean toward the sandwiches and burgers based on what I saw. The complimentary biscuits were also great That being said, the service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and really helped make the experience enjoyable. The actual house is the highlight. Take some time to walk around and explore the different rooms - the historic details, atmosphere, and character are what make this place worth visiting.

That search led me to The Olde Pink House--a magnificent historic mansion dating back to 1771, now home to one of Savannah's most memorable restaurants. The décor is beautiful, with antique furnishings, fireplaces, elegant woodwork, chandeliers, and enough historical character to make any ghost hunter feel immediately at home. The building is surprisingly large, with numerous dining rooms, each decorated and arranged differently. Exploring it feels almost like wandering through a well-preserved haunted mansion--though thankfully, the staff were much friendlier than the ghosts I had recently captured. The food was excellent, and everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. I'm not usually much of a beer drinker, but I tried the Hostess City, a craft beer brewed exclusively for The Olde Pink House, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Our server was wonderful, and we were even able to exchange ghost stories with them. We all had a good laugh, although I'm fairly certain one of the portraits nearby was laughing along with us. We arrived dressed entirely in black, and not a single person batted an eye. In Savannah, this is apparently considered perfectly respectable evening attire--or perhaps everyone simply assumed we were attending a funeral for one of the restless dead. After dinner, we asked whether we could explore the other sections of the restaurant, and we were told it would be no problem. We were able to visit the different dining rooms and examine the antiques and objects respectfully without disturbing the other guests. Be sure to visit the bar downstairs, Planters Tavern. It has a wonderfully haunted atmosphere, with brick walls, old-world décor, and a beautiful fireplace that must be especially inviting during the winter months. The basement's fireplaces were reportedly part of the home's original kitchen, which only adds to the feeling that the room remembers far more than it lets on. The Olde Pink House offers excellent food, beautiful surroundings, friendly service, and just enough supernatural atmosphere to keep a ghost hunter interested. I arrived looking for somewhere to recover from the night's haunting. I left well fed, pleasantly spirits-laden, and only mildly concerned that one of the ghosts may have followed me home.
