Great service and really good food! I had the ackee and salt fish with plantains and Johnny cake. My friend had jerk pork. I also tried the curry goat. Everything was really good and the staff was super friendly. The spicy items had a good amount of spice for flavor but not so much that they were difficult to eat. I would totally recommend this to anyone who likes Jamaican food.

If you're craving authentic Jamaican flavors, Mo'Bay Island Cuisine is the spot! I tried the jerk chicken with steamed cabbage and spicy rice, and the flavors did not disappoint. The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of heat and smokiness, while the steamed cabbage was tender and flavorful--a perfect complement. The spicy rice lived up to its name--a bit too spicy for my taste, but if you love heat, you'll love it! To cool things down, I had a pineapple ginger drink that was both refreshing and delicious. I also couldn't resist a coconut drop dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Great food, great flavors, and a true taste of the islands. I'll definitely be back!

My parents have been here several times whenever they come to visit the Savannah area and this was our first stop after we checked into our hotel. When pulling in, the restaurant is located in a shopping mall next to a Chinese takeout. To be honest, I did not know what to expect from a Jamaican spot in Pooler, GA especially since I lived in South Florida and was surrounded by the flavors of the Caribbean. From first glance, it's clean and has ample seating. We ordered oxtails for my dad, jerk chicken for my mom, and brown stew chicken for myself. Since we were dining in, we did wait for some time for our food. However, we watched as the kitchen staff replaced old rice with new trays, and other menu items. In the meantime, we also ordered jerk chicken patties, coco bread, and a beef patty. Once our food was delivered to our table, my mom went in immediately hence the picture of the eaten chicken lol. When opening up my box, whew the portions are huge - which is how I like my Jamaican spots to be! My brown stew chicken was very moist, flavorful, and freshly cooked. It had that hint of spice, and was covered in that rich stew. I requested for extra gravy on the rice - which was perfectly cooked, subtle flavor of that coconut milk. The cabbage was the highlight for me and went first out of my box. It was steamed very well, swimming in flavor, and chewy. My parents loved their food as well. As far as the patties, the jerk chicken patty was filled with their jerk chicken that was served and had great spice and the chicken was moist. The coco bread was fluffy and had the texture of warm soft potato roll. You have to split the coco bread and put your patty in it to give the balance of the sweet bread with the savory patty. Overall, if you're craving Jamaican food with a down home feel - definitely stop into Mo' Bay, I know I'll be back whenever I'm in Savannah.

5 stars for taste, service, and overall quality. I loved my jerk chicken and brown sauce chicken so much, that I ate the leftovers at 1:00 am in the elevator after checking into our hotel in North Carolina. AMAZING.

We had the entree with oxtails, cabbage and white rice. We also had the jerk buffalo wings and spicy curry rice with oxtail gravy.

The food was delicious and the customer service was excellent!! I definitely recommends coming here!

Like landing at John Wayne, SFO or LAX and going straight to In N Out, when landing here at Savannah/Hilton Head airport - you must proceed directly from the rental car parking lot and go straight to Mo'Bay!! The oxtail meal was so, so good, that I got another oxtail meal just for the hotel. The young lady was very inviting and explained what was popular on the menu. The oxtail was very soft and that gravy should come in a jar. I loved the chicken and beef Patties as well. The plantains were sweet and soft and the cabbage had a nice snap. All my years, I've been a big fan of Filipino oxtail (cooked with peanut butter sauce) but I think Jamaican oxtail has moved up to first place. What I really need to do is learn the recipe on YouTube because I do have a slow cooker. Also with the posters and Reggae music and Jamaican drinks - it all just adds to the ambiance and decor.

I been to couple of different Jamaican places and this by far the best. Had some friends of my who are from the islands and they were very pleased.

Very, very tasty. I was on my way to Savannah last Friday and saw the great reviews for this place and knew I had to get some on my way into town. I called to place an order for carry-out when I was about 20 minutes away and after a few minutes on hold, I was able to get my order placed. It was ready when I arrived. This place is located in a smaller strip mall. There's some seating inside, though not a ton. Bright yellows and greens and Jamaican memorabilia make this place very inviting. There are drink coolers with beverages and you order and pay at the register on the counter. To my surprise, much of the food was in a hot bar on display at the front counter. No big deal or anything - just thought it was interesting. I liked getting a brief glimpse of some of the other yumminess. :) Service was friendly and warm and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Would have been less than five had my card actually agreed with the card machine, but luckily I had cash, lol. I got a medium plate with curry chicken, rice and peas, and macaroni and cheese. It was an ample portion for the money -- two meals for me, easily. Yay for leftovers! The chicken itself was very succulent and fell off the bone. Unlike curry chicken I've had before, this one had a couple of cubes of potato and carrot mixed in, rather than just chicken and curry. I really enjoyed the extra veggies. The rice was fluffy and soft. Little low on the pea ratio but overall yummy, and I'd say mild-moderately spicy. Very much enjoyed it. The macaroni and cheese was good too, though personally, I like mine more with milder cheese. Just a preference thing rather than any actual complaint. I do wish I could've had a slice or two of plantain to round out the experience but I didn't want to add on a third side. Overall, I was very happy with what I got. Definitely give this place a go -- well worth a stop if it's along your route.

Trying to find a place since our plans got canceled because someone had to crash on the only road to Tybee Island, we landed on here at Mo'Bay Island Cuisine. It was an awesome pick that our friend chose to eat at. Finding good Jamaican food is pretty tough, because some places are just alright. Mo'Bay is a hole in the wall, but the food here was awesome. I ordered the oxtail, and it was great with a side of greens and rice. The rice was flavorful and with the sauce from the oxtail it was *chef's kiss*. The amount of oxtail as well was well portioned and it was fall off the bone tender. I also tried the curry patty, and I have to say it was definitely flavored really well as far as the curry but there wasn't much meat or anything else in there. I may have missed it as I went through that patty really quick. Overall, Mo'Bay is definitely a place you should check out if you're in the area and looking for Jamaican.

Great and authentic Jamaican food. Ordered the oxtail, with red beans and rice. It was a great combination with plantain. Outstanding service from staff. Great find in Pooler!

The staff that greeted us was very nice and accommodating with our reservation and the time moved quickly to get us seated. The place and the kitchen were extra busy to be expected...The problem I have was with the service... if you have read any of my reviews it has to be rough ..because I am service team defender #1. She made several apologies ...understood... BUT... and this is my problem especially if you have worked on tips and it's not a normal service day... even if the kitchen is backed up - at least keep the contact with your table, water glass and coffee cup filled.. and before we start to defend the service she had 3 tables at the most and we had to ask several times IF we even saw her on the floor... for coffee or water. At times she would just walk by and not even make an attempt to check. Look I get it and I'm not here to bash but when you are spending $$ the wait is easier if you have a full drink and some interaction with the staff. (I don't need to be baby sat) Here's what hurts... we have frequented ABE for over 10 years starting in PCB. After an hour of sitting, the food finally rolled out. The beignets were doughy on the inside. The crab cake Benedict was soggy... the potato's were lukewarm, the grits were good not going to beat everything up and when we could get coffee it was great... I watched her other tables (because I had Plenty of time while staying engaged with my people) and it was obvious they were having the same experience. OK the bail out... will we go back "yes" probably not on a holiday... LOL. It could have been a bad day for her... it could be she's new.. based on their standards... overall for me it was disappointing and not the best experience... what's redeeming is when the mother of your children is gracious and forgiving...

We joined the waitlist online and were told about a five-minute wait, which was accurate -- we were seated within that timeframe. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Our booth hadn't been properly cleaned. The table was dirty, and there was visible food left on the seat, which was pretty off-putting right from the start. The food did come out quickly, which I appreciated. However, the quality didn't match the price point. The bacon was stringy, and overall everything felt very average. The "gourmet" coffee was especially disappointing -- at $5 no refills, it was essentially standard pot coffee dressed up with a higher price tag. Definitely not worth it. The mimosa was decent at $12 a glass, but nothing memorable. One thing that really stood out (in a negative way) was the manager on duty repeatedly walking past our table with a noticeable body odor. It was very unprofessional to come to work smelling like BO. That's not something you expect in a restaurant environment, and it made the experience uncomfortable. For four people, the total came to $96, which felt extremely overpriced for the quality, cleanliness, and overall experience. Between the mid-level food, dirty seating, and uncomfortable atmosphere, this isn't somewhere I would return.
