If you do not know the address you will drive past it. I ended up parking a block from the restaurant as parking was pretty limited . It is a very cozy restaurant that seats about 30 patrons total. I did not see any single seating or a bar. I ordered pork chops, dressing, and white rice from the daily menu. Service was very quick, and I noticed everyone received their order within about 5 minutes. This included dine-in and carry-out customers. The dressing was the best I've tasted in a while. The pork chops had a nice seasoned, slightly spicy crust with tender meat. My take-out order was still hot when I was able to eat it about fifteen minutes later. I will come back for future visit and recommend this place if you enjoy soul food.

They are known for their fried chicken so I was told at the order counter by the owner. You'll certainly feel like you're home- away from home with their comfort food choices. The skin on fried chicken was FANTASTIC! My sides of Lima beans and stewed cabbage were tasty and fresh prepared. I also ordered Chicken and Dumplings, and I was unaware of how large a serving it would be until it arrived at the table. It was also delicious and the best I've ever eaten, actually. The banana pudding was creamy decadence, but was a bit short on the cookies and banana slices. Customers order and pay at the counter and then seat themselves at a table. It's a very small restaurant with a few booths and 2 and 4 top tables. I look forward to returning

That search led me to The Olde Pink House--a magnificent historic mansion dating back to 1771, now home to one of Savannah's most memorable restaurants. The décor is beautiful, with antique furnishings, fireplaces, elegant woodwork, chandeliers, and enough historical character to make any ghost hunter feel immediately at home. The building is surprisingly large, with numerous dining rooms, each decorated and arranged differently. Exploring it feels almost like wandering through a well-preserved haunted mansion--though thankfully, the staff were much friendlier than the ghosts I had recently captured. The food was excellent, and everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. I'm not usually much of a beer drinker, but I tried the Hostess City, a craft beer brewed exclusively for The Olde Pink House, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Our server was wonderful, and we were even able to exchange ghost stories with them. We all had a good laugh, although I'm fairly certain one of the portraits nearby was laughing along with us. We arrived dressed entirely in black, and not a single person batted an eye. In Savannah, this is apparently considered perfectly respectable evening attire--or perhaps everyone simply assumed we were attending a funeral for one of the restless dead. After dinner, we asked whether we could explore the other sections of the restaurant, and we were told it would be no problem. We were able to visit the different dining rooms and examine the antiques and objects respectfully without disturbing the other guests. Be sure to visit the bar downstairs, Planters Tavern. It has a wonderfully haunted atmosphere, with brick walls, old-world décor, and a beautiful fireplace that must be especially inviting during the winter months. The basement's fireplaces were reportedly part of the home's original kitchen, which only adds to the feeling that the room remembers far more than it lets on. The Olde Pink House offers excellent food, beautiful surroundings, friendly service, and just enough supernatural atmosphere to keep a ghost hunter interested. I arrived looking for somewhere to recover from the night's haunting. I left well fed, pleasantly spirits-laden, and only mildly concerned that one of the ghosts may have followed me home.

It started with a warm welcome from the staff as soon as we entered the door!! Since we were a family of 5, a few tables were put together to make sure we could all dine together. After we were seated, we were offered some complimentary cornbread cake, it was a big hit!! There were 2 menus; food and beverages. The food menu was plentiful!! We had burgers, loaded fries, and salmon. I had the salmon with mashed potatoes, collard greens, and mac & cheese, delicious!! They even had mocktails, I tried the "They Not Like Us". I was expecting it to be on the sweeter side with the coconut shrub and blackberries to balance out the citrus but it was still tasty. Our server was Nyla, she was attentive, polite, and friendly. She definitely added to our experience! The overall decor, the service, and the food all made for a wonderful evening outing with the family!

The entire experience felt incredibly nostalgic and reminded me of gathering around the table for Sunday dinner with family. It's unlike most restaurant, you'll be seated family-style with other guests, making it easy to meet new people. We actually had the pleasure of chatting with two wonderful people while waiting in line, which made the experience even more memorable. The staff was genuinely warm and welcoming, and we even had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Wilkes' granddaughter, who now owns the restaurant. She was just as kind and friendly as everyone else, and you can tell the family tradition is still alive. Come hungry because the food just keeps coming. They had just about every Southern comfort food you could think of--pulled pork, fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, macaroni and cheese, vegetables, biscuits, and countless other homemade sides. Everything tasted fresh, comforting, and exactly what you'd hope for from a classic Southern meal. A couple of things to know before you go: it's cash only and currently $35 per person, which I thought was well worth it considering the quality, quantity, and overall experience. Also, expect a line--it starts forming before they open, and they're only open from 11 AM to 2 PM, so arriving early is definitely worth it. This is much more than just a meal, it's a Savannah tradition and an experience I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city. I'd absolutely come back the next time I'm in town.

The communal-table atmosphere makes the meal feel less like dining at a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a very large Savannah family dinner. The service was warm and attentive, and the whole experience felt genuine rather than staged for tourists. For anyone visiting Savannah, Mrs. Wilkes is a must. Come hungry.
