OD is usually dead, I pass by here all the time because I live so close and even when I crave seafood I never think to come here. Both locations are mediocre but this one is better than the one on the east side. We did enjoy the dumplings (they honestly tasted like they came out of the frozen section but my boyfriend was happy) the onion rings were alright but tasted the same to me, the wings were a 10-piece and I was hurt that they gave us 9 legs and 1 premature flat. The flavor was a little off, maybe the wings were old but I'll pass. I like to create a bag with just potatoes, corn, sausage and eggs and eat it with rice. The flavor was just okay to me, it kind of tasted watered down which is strange to say. I WILL SAY THIS THOUGH... I ordered something I never order and that was the steamed oysters, well done with all the seasoning/butter and after they took them back and cooked them right they were truly the HIGHLIGHT of the meal. The vibe last night was dead, the bartender and manager were weird he spent most of the time talking and following her. Our server was just alright, the first impression was every impression I get at these type of restaurants. They hire a certain type of server out front, probably their first serving job, air pods in the ear, revealing shirts or mid drift, quick with words and not really able to sale the menu. Although the service was acceptable, the Buffalo wings were overcooked and dry. The fries were hot and delicious. Fries were seasoned with old bay and quite palatable.. They was a 1.50 to go charge that I inquired about and the host told me I did not have to pay. Still trying to figure out as to why there is a charge to take your food out. If zero stars was an option, this place would get zero stars. Paid $38 for a crab leg / shrimp combo. Got one very puny cluster of crab legs, about five shrimp that had a vaguely mildewy taste. Corn was overcooked to the point of it being chewy - like jerky. They only have one salad dressing, they call it "house". Well, y'all, it is ranch. So it was my bday today I saw there was a deal a while back that said $30 off if you spent $55. So, I called TO MAKE SURE that I could do that deal as a to go order. The guy stated he was new and that he didn't know much but he said I just had to come and bring my ID to verify that it is my bday and the manger would apply the discount. I told him I was on the way so I could do that. I get there and told him it was me who had called about that and I was ready to place my order. He goes to the back and asks and then report to me that they cannot do it with to go orders. So I literally said never mind and walked out. The fact that I drove out here based off what he said when he could have just asked the manager. Waste of my time because I drove out here. OD is located in a strip mall but once you get in the smells and and feel let it be known your in a seafood place. The decor was ok nothing to write home about. The service was quick and professional. The food was better than good but not " knock your socks off" We had some clam bakes and fried shrimp which we enjoyed. It hurts me to change a rating and lower my ranking but I feel compelled to be honest. OD was one of the first restaurants that we found near our home with good service, greatfood, and decent environment. Although a little pricey, for a seafood place it wasn't too bad. It's been at least a year since we were there (pre-pandemic). The magic is clearly gone. The air conditioning was cranked up to the point that a visible breeze was blowing table menu's and plant. We switched seats that minimally helped. We ordered a make your own combo with crab, head-on shrimp, and black mussels. The mussels were good, the crab and shrimp seemed old. The crab was too rubbery to crack. The shrimp was hard to peel. The meal along with potatoes and corn were served on a large plate. Immediately I began to wonder do I dump everything out and use the bags for shells? No other plate was offered. Do I throw my shells back in with the food I haven't eaten? I made a stack of Napkins and old shells on the table. It grew to a sizeable height before it was cleared near the end of the meal. I had a beer that was a cheap pour missing the top of the glass by 1/2 inch. The Tiramisu seemed like store bought pudding with gram cracker crust on top. We had to wait on the check and it was placed next to some shells and napkins. Service was attentive. The lobster tank needed a good cleaning. Upon leaving. A gaggle of wait staff was up front and not one person thanked us for coming or said goodbye. All in all, this is not the 5* place I remember. I wonder if it is under new management because everything seemed off. I don't know if we will be back. I might need to give them a 2nd chance but I couldn't keep a 5* rating for a 1* experience. read more

So this place for me was a little but of a let down. I was hoping it would stand out for other seafood place in Savannah but it really did not. The hush puppies really needed butter or a sauce they were dry. The fried platter was very 1 note everything was the same taste. I will say though the calamari was not rubbery which was good. With the crab legs it would have been nice to have a small fork to help get the meat out. My husband said the crab was okay but not the best in his opinion. You could hear other peoples conversation and they complained of the floor being very greasy and even a few almost fell. So if you try this please be careful walking in and to the table. The staff was kinda friendly they could have at least acted like they wanted to be at work. Nothing really great to say about this place. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. My family ordered from here two days ago and everything was horrible. The crab legs and shrimp boils were all bland. The shrimp was mushy, and unseasoned. The bags had ample of oil in them. The crabs were very bland. Everything seem to have been sitting in the bags for days and then dropped into a pot of water once orders were put in. I'm reporting them to Chef GORDON RAMSEY & the State of Georgia Health Department for serving food well under the FDA standards. read more

I was just there and the fries had some much salt on them, you could see clumps of it on the fries. So, of course I send them back, they supposedly cook me a new batch (lightly salted). But to my surprise, only a few at the top were lightly salted but the ones under seem to be fries from the first salty batch. Be very careful a this restaurant. I was there today & while I was in the bathroom I saw an employee walk in with gloves on & he washed his "hands" with the gloves still on, stood at the urinal & urinated with the same gloves on. I took a picture of him & walked out. I told a manager & she looked confused. I showed her the picture & while we were talking the guy walked out of the bathroom with the same gloves on. She made it seem like I was making a big deal out of nothing & she told him to take off the gloves & proceeded to tell me "look he took the gloves off" terrible customer service, disgusting employees & a lack of concern about the health of me, my friend & all other patrons of this place. She showed me that this place didn't care about health because if he doesn't wash his hands properly after urinating & had on the same gloves he used to urinate and proceed to go back into the kitchen, there is no telling what else happens in this ace that we don't see or know about. Requested scallop's to be grilled instead of fried. Kitchen staff says no. When Fried scallops arrived I discovered why as I was removing the breading. Some of them were cut in half so the count was increased. I could understand if they were crowded but 8 persons at booths and 1 at the bar. So not crowed. around 11:30 11/12/2021. Clam chowder more water than soup. My wife does highly recommend the salmon here. They should just add a up charge to grill but no customers choice are not considered. read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! I love seafood and I especially love when it's done well. I'm a transplanted New Englander into Savannah and so I expect the best when it comes to wicked good seafood. First off, OD is a bit off the beaten path and not a place tourists are likely to find unless they seek it out. The restaurant is located on the way south end of town on 204. We could tell it wa as full of locals who knew what they were going to get. The staff was amazing. We had a group of 36 people who all worked a charity event, so we were tired and hungry and the wait staff completely took care of us. They were attentive and quick and so patient when dealing with so many requests and orders and refills. They were absolutely awesome. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the snow crab legs pot and my husband ordered the dungeonous crab pot. Our host ordered many lobsters for the table, so my hubby and I split one, as well. The snow crab was perfectly cooked, spiced wonderfully with Old Bay, were big, plump, full clusters, and just exactly what I wanted. My husband said his crab was sweet and delicious and we didn't leave a morsel on our plates. The pots came with roasted potatoes and corn, but honestly...I was so into the seafood, I didn't want to stuff with potatoes and corn. I did order the New England clam chowder as an appetizer and I was disappointed. I don't think others would be disappointed in it because I am a well-known clam chowder snob having lived in Boston for 20 years. There were a lot of clams in the chowder and it was creamy, but not thick enough for me and could have used a lot more spices/salt. Again...I don't hold that against a non-New Englander. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an off the beaten path place that won't charge you the arm and a leg you may pay on River Street or downtown. Don't let the outside small strip mall look fool you and make you not walk in. From the outside this place looks small but when you walk in its very spacious and definitely not what you would have expected. I was very blown away when I stopped in to pick up my order. I found this place online for a low country boil and crayfish. The reviews are right the food is super flavorful and just the right amount. All of their boils have several different options of sauces they are cooked in I opted for the spicy garlic and I can't tell you just how delicious it was but I can say I ordered enough for five hoping to get enough to feed three and was pleasantly surprised that it came out enough to feed six....and we devoured everything in one sitting it was just that "can't put it down" good. The menu is large if you've never been, which I never had, pull up the menu and look through before you go. I've recommended this restaurant to family members 20 miles away and they too came in and was very happy they did. The only reason I dont give it above a 5 star rating is they don't serve or include sausage in their boils lol.
