Let me preface my review by saying I did not try the food. When I arrived with 2 other people we were greeted by the hostess and taken to our seat. As im walking to our booth I realize how sticky the floor is. I can feel the slight resistance as I walk and I can hear the stickiness. Before ordering I visit the bathroom and it smelled like a sewage plant. I'm not sure if it was the pipes but it was very unappetizing. When I go to wash my hands there is no soap. In either dispenser. Now I'm annoyed because including my party there were only 2 other booths occupied so not too busy to maintain soap in the bathroom. I return to my group and the waitress comes over and she was not personable at all. It very much seemed like waiting on us was an inconvenience for her. After ordering drinks we asked for a few minutes to look over the menu. Our waitress comes back and asks if we're ready to order and we say no we're still looking. She lets out a deep sigh and walks off. At that point my group and I decided to leave and go somewhere else. My visit was very disappointing and I'm willing to chalk it up to a bad day all around but I have no intention on trying this place out anytime soon. I've heard great things about the food but my experience was very lacking.

Crab Du Jour was amazing! The seafood boil was perfectly cooked and seasoned! Especially the shrimp and crab legs in garlic butter Cajun sauce. Our server was super friendly and attentive. She was also our bartender! The perfect margarita couldn't have had a better name...it was the highlight of the night and that says a lot with how good the food was! Great food, great service--I'll definitely be back!

They opened in a large mall, convenient location. This may have been a former Macaroni Grill, since they still have the same men's bathroom door. The decor is loud and screams seafood, there's no mistaking what kind of food they offer! Although they are called "Restaurant and Bar", they still haven't received their liquor license and thus only serve soft drinks. I wish I had known that, there's no signage warning the unsuspecting drop-in. Apparently their specialty is the bagged and seasoned seafood combinations, which I did not feel like having. It seems everyone else there ordered that specialty, and everyone seemed happy with it. Instead I had the appetizer-sized crabcakes, and a dozen steamed oysters with lemon pepper sauce. The crabcake was nicely crispy on the outside, tender with good crab taste on the inside. I liked the sauce that came with it. I originally asked for raw oysters, but was told they don't have it. Just like the alcohol, it seems that after a month of being open they cannot meet their own expectations. I was pleasantly surprised at how large each oyster was, they come in the shell and steamed in the sauce. The sauce was a little salty, but I liked the lemony and peppery flavor. Hopefully as they progress, they will actually become a bar... or remove that moniker from their name.

The biggest highlight was the karaoke! Apparently this is Wednesday and Friday nights and we were there on a Wednesday. There was a fun crowd that bopped along to encourage each of the singers, talented or just full of courage. Three of the five of us had a boil and each enjoyed the different butters. I had gumbo, which was just okay, but i enjoyed the conversation and music. Crab Du Jour was located in a mall so parking was everywhere.

It's was just okay. Not sure I'd recommend and may not go back. Service was poor, food was a bit pricey.

The inside was surprisingly quiet, with most tables empty when we stopped by at 7pm on a Tuesday night. We ordered the Combo B with shrimp and crab legs (mild seasoning + garlic butter), along with a fried lobster tail and sweet potato fries. The bag of boiled seafood was definitely the star of the show. The shrimp tasted fresh and flavorful--not fishy at all--and the garlic butter seasoning was delicious. Cracking open the crab legs was a new experience for us and honestly kind of fun. There's something about working for each bite that turns dinner into an activity. We also tried the fried lobster tail. Unfortunately, the batter tasted almost burnt and overpowered the natural sweetness of the lobster meat. In retrospect, I would have ordered it boiled instead. The sweet potato fries were limp rather than crispy, which was disappointing. That said, the overall seafood boil experience really saved the meal. Our server was friendly and kind, especially since this was our first time at a seafood boil restaurant. She checked on us several times without being intrusive and helped us navigate the whole bibs-and-gloves situation. What our family loved most was the communal aspect--everyone digging into the same bag, cracking shells, passing pieces around. It felt interactive and different from just eating individual plates ordered off a menu. Would we go back? Yeah, probably--especially with grandparents or for a fun, hands-on dinner night out.

I checked the reviews and opted for the combo B (headless shrimp and snow crab legs) with the "Big…read moreBang" seasoning. I chose the "hot" level for spice because the waiter said the "mild" barely had spice that day. It was delicious! Came with melted butter dip too. The heat was building because I started getting a runny nose lol Our waiter was very friendly and even gave us some tips and information about the Savannah area. Service was 5 star! I got some rice, and gobbled most of that bag myself. My husband got chicken tenders with some sweet potato fries cuz he doesn't eat seafood, so if you're itchin for seafood but your guest isn't, there's still choices for them. Def would like to go again!

Erica Davis Lowcountry sits on Victory Drive in Thunderbolt -- a town so small it has exactly one square mile of land and a name borrowed from a lightning strike that supposedly split open a freshwater spring on the Wilmington River bluff. The restaurant itself has a similar origin story: a long-shuttered seafood spot called Teeple's, left empty for years, brought back to life by Erica and Dwight Davis with real care. The gaslight sconces out front stayed. So did the bones of the building. The garage doors open when the weather cooperates. We came in late on a Friday, catching the final stretch of their brunch service. Hannah (I believe) was our server -- in training, which you wouldn't have guessed. She steered us well and managed the table (and the room) with a confidence that didn't feel performed. We started with the Barbecue Shrimp and the Oysters Rockefeller. The barbecue shrimp -- Georgia shrimp in a spiced, rich sauce served with toasts -- was good but the one I'd skip on a return visit. The Oysters Rockefeller are the opposite story: roasted, finished with creamed collards and parmesan, and genuinely one of the better bites I've had in recent memory. Order them. My husband had the Wassaw Redfish -- pan-seared over stone-ground grits with garlic beurre blanc and heirloom tomato. Clean, confident cooking. I had the Sunday fried chicken, which delivered exactly what that dish promises when it's done right. Sides of fresh green beans, South Georgia collards, and Erica's Famous Coleslaw held their own across the board. Dessert was the Key Lime Pie, served in a cup that does not prepare you for how good it is. Tart and creamy in the right proportion. We didn't leave any behind. The family's seafood history in Savannah goes back to 1946. You can feel that kind of depth in a kitchen -- not in any one dramatic bite, but in the steadiness of it all.

She expressed that it was her favorite dish and the favorite dish of many customers. The flavors were great, and interesting. The dish had the potential to be an 8/10 or 9/10, but it was so incredibly salty that it was nearly unbearable. The signature dish was a 6/10, maybe, as a result. If it was fine tuned, it could be a great dish. We also had the Fried Green Tomatoes. Very nice. Would order those again. They were delicious. This is a cool spot, and if they dial in their food, it could be epic. Our waitress was a delight also. Really nice service. 3 stars is justified because, in spite of the good things noted, the core element for any restaurant must be their food and if the Shrimp and Grits is their "signature" dish, they should give it the same attention they give other areas that are going well.
