While visiting Savannah to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary, I developed a craving for crab legs on Friday night. One of the employees at the Perry Lane Hotel recommended Crab Du Jour, and I'm glad they did! My wife and I arrived and immediately noticed the lively atmosphere. As soon as we walked through the door, karaoke night was in full swing. There was a DJ, several talented performers, and a crowd that was enjoying themselves. The entertainment was classy, fun, and added a special touch to our dining experience. For dinner, I ordered Dungeness crab legs with corn and additional sides, all covered in their mild Cajun sauce. The food was fresh, flavorful, and very satisfying. The seasoning was just right--enough flavor to enjoy without overpowering the natural taste of the seafood. My wife ordered corn and vegetables and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. Everything was prepared well and served hot and fresh. Our waitress provided excellent service throughout the evening. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Between the great food, outstanding service, and enjoyable entertainment, Crab Du Jour became one of the highlights of our Savannah trip. If you're looking for good seafood, a fun atmosphere, and excellent customer service, I highly recommend Crab Du Jour in Savannah. I don't eat a lot of seafood boil but wanted to try it while I was in the area. I visited around noon with one other person on a Thursday and it was fairly empty. The service was a bit slow but we weren't in a rush to go anywhere so we looked at the sea decor and enjoyed the music. We got the lunch special with 3/4 lb head-off shrimp ($11.99) and 3/4 lb green mussels ($9.50) with Cajun seasoning. The waitress put it in two separate orders/platters for us so we could get more corn and potatoes! I am absolutely disgusted by the level of customer service we experienced here. After reading the reviews, my family and I were genuinely excited to try this place, especially after an exhausting day. Unfortunately, the experience we had was enough to ensure we will NEVER be returning. We walked in during lunch hours to find absolutely no one at the front desk or behind the bar. We literally had to look around for someone who worked there. There were other customers seated with menus, but the restaurant was nowhere near busy enough to justify the complete lack of service. Then we noticed two employees sitting by the bar, chatting amongst themselves. They made eye contact with us MULTIPLE times and still couldn't be bothered to get up, acknowledge us, or even offer a simple greeting. We waited patiently, giving them every opportunity to do the bare minimum expected of someone working in customer service. Nothing. When we finally decided to leave, one of the female employees SLOWLY began making her way toward the front, as though acknowledging potential paying customers was some enormous inconvenience. Let me be clear: you cannot run a successful business when your employees act like customers are an interruption rather than the reason they have a job. We weren't asking for anything special. We expected the absolute basics: a greeting, acknowledgment, and the courtesy of being seated or helped. Apparently, even that was too much to ask. What makes this especially disappointing is that we came in WANTING to spend our money here. You had customers who were excited to try your food, and you managed to lose them before we even saw a menu. That takes a special level of indifference. Those positive reviews are what brought us through your doors, but this experience is what we will remember and share with others. Management seriously needs to take a look at who they have representing this business, because if this is the standard of service you provide during a quiet lunch hour, I can only imagine what customers experience when it's actually busy. We took our money elsewhere, and we will not be back. Good food might bring people through the door, but terrible service will make sure they never return. This was such a cute little place. Came here for the first time and it was a little more affordable then some other seafood places I have been to. They also have happy hour so that was a nice bonus. I have been wanting some seafood for a while now. I had surgery in January and was not able to crack my own crab legs lol. We were out here taking care of business and seen Crab Du Jour had what I wanted. When arrived we were greeted and seated right away. Our server was Jada. She was so sweet and helpful with the menu. We explained that my mom couldn't have shellfish. She quickly explained that the fried food and crab boil came from 2 separate areas. Jada also made sure when she brought the food nothing touch or was close to my mother's food. The food was delicious and the sauce was sooooooooo good!!!! The sauce was not salty nor too oily. Ok the service was just what I needed after a long travel day. I was so hungry I forgot to take pics of the food. It was all good. First the seating was in a booth by the bar. It has low lighting. My daughter and I like to eat at Crab du Jour when we are visiting the Barnes and Noble that is right next door. I usually order the wings and today it looked like an evil scientist hit them with a shrink ray. The seafood was great, my daughter loved the fried shrimp, they were bigger than the flats I ordered. It made me sad; the flavor was good, there just wasn't very much there. Service was great and the waitress said go with the tenders if you want chicken there. read more

Let me preface my review by saying I did not try the food. When I arrived with 2 other people we were greeted by the hostess and taken to our seat. As im walking to our booth I realize how sticky the floor is. I can feel the slight resistance as I walk and I can hear the stickiness. Before ordering I visit the bathroom and it smelled like a sewage plant. I'm not sure if it was the pipes but it was very unappetizing. When I go to wash my hands there is no soap. In either dispenser. Now I'm annoyed because including my party there were only 2 other booths occupied so not too busy to maintain soap in the bathroom. I return to my group and the waitress comes over and she was not personable at all. It very much seemed like waiting on us was an inconvenience for her. After ordering drinks we asked for a few minutes to look over the menu. Our waitress comes back and asks if we're ready to order and we say no we're still looking. She lets out a deep sigh and walks off. At that point my group and I decided to leave and go somewhere else. My visit was very disappointing and I'm willing to chalk it up to a bad day all around but I have no intention on trying this place out anytime soon. What Happened To Crab du Jour? The service was very lacking. We had to ask the hostess to get our server. After food arrived, she didn't check on us. Really--plastic silverware for dining in? Tameika was our table server And TO ALL SERVERS WHO READ THIS, Success is a choice and it arrived at our table with the most genuine smile ever. Tameika was attentive, relaxed, and genuine! Every request we threw at her was met with a response of genuine joy to serve. When our meals arrived they were couried by yet another staffer named Daviana and true to form she also demonstrated a memorable prowess to serve with delight, again a warm rich smile with a desire to please. Crab Du Jour doesn't even stand amongst the top 5 or 10 for me. The flavor of their boils are mid at best and the service lacked the same seasoning. We waited for awhile for our server, she gave us dirty straws (like how is that possible) we asked different people for the things we needed because our server was in the bar, then in every corner talking to her coworkers. They opened in a large mall, convenient location. This may have been a former Macaroni Grill, since they still have the same men's bathroom door. The decor is loud and screams seafood, there's no mistaking what kind of food they offer! Although they are called "Restaurant and Bar", they still haven't received their liquor license and thus only serve soft drinks. I wish I had known that, there's no signage warning the unsuspecting drop-in. Apparently their specialty is the bagged and seasoned seafood combinations, which I did not feel like having. It seems everyone else there ordered that specialty, and everyone seemed happy with it. Instead I had the appetizer-sized crabcakes, and a dozen steamed oysters with lemon pepper sauce. The crabcake was nicely crispy on the outside, tender with good crab taste on the inside. I liked the sauce that came with it. I originally asked for raw oysters, but was told they don't have it. Just like the alcohol, it seems that after a month of being open they cannot meet their own expectations. I was pleasantly surprised at how large each oyster was, they come in the shell and steamed in the sauce. The sauce was a little salty, but I liked the lemony and peppery flavor. Upon walking in person at the front noticed us but continued to go about her business without any acknowledgment, ok so we seated ourselves. The biggest highlight was the karaoke! Apparently this is Wednesday and Friday nights and we were there on a Wednesday. There was a fun crowd that bopped along to encourage each of the singers, talented or just full of courage. Three of the five of us had a boil and each enjoyed the different butters. I recommend the Crab cakes sliders, Oyster Sliders, Seafood Pasta, Top Crab Wings and Regular and Sweet Potato fries. I have not tried any of their bags so I can't rate those. For the most part I have received good service on my visits sometimes it can be hectic when they are busy. I have never had to send food back and its always fresh, hot and tasty! Let me start off by saying today is me and my husbands anniversary and have been talking about getting a seafood boil for months. Service was terrible, first off we got inside and the lady told us theres no AC, thats fine we do have a baby but i have a fan for him. Got sat and 15 minutes go by, no one came over to our table, mind you theres only like 2 other tables than us. We sat there for 15 minutes no drinks brought to us. Mind you NO AC, i wouldnt have complained if i had a water lmao! And didnt even try the food lol. Never will go again. I was recommended to come to the restaurant by a friend. But honestly we came in there was no one at the door. So we sat down on the bench and waited to someone to come up and greet us. My wife when to the bathroom and told me there was a bad smell in there. When we finally got a table, as we were looking at the menu, we notice cockroaches walking around the table. So we asked to speak with a manager. She never gave us her name. But I asked some employees, I think it was something with T here name. I'm not sure. Overall, music was great food was a little greasy and the boil was a little bit overrated on flavor. My wife feels sick after eating the boil seafood. But what i don't like was my server always disappeared we asked if it was possible to pay. I think it was another manager that helped us pay our bill. So we can leave because we were tired of waiting for our server to show up. I am very disappointed. I will never recommend this place to no one. Honestly I would have given them another star if the reception would have been better. Came at 630pm and the restaurant was almost empty but the receptionist seemed confused we were there and said we would need to wait on a table... weird. Visited this restaurant with two families on vacation. We saw yelp rating with a high score and decided it would be a great place to try. 80% of restaurant was empty. The hostess noted that it would be 15-20min wait, which was confusing since restaurant was mostly empty. We would have understood if they just told us they were too busy and could not accommodate. But hostess assured she would text when they were ready. We gave them benefit of the doubt and shopped at barnes and noble. I went to check 15 mins later and no one was at the front and cared to even ask anything. Never received a text either, luckily la parilla next door is more than happy to serve my party. Seafood boil was phenomenal! We did king crab legs, crawfish and shrimp without heads. We had ours with the house seasoning - yum! The waitress was so kind and explained everything to us. This was our first time having a seafood boil. The corn on the cob and boiled whole potatoes were perfect with the seafood we chose. A delicious and fun family dinner. read more
