Chicken Fingers sauced with chicken wing sauce. Served with house style fries. The house made ranch was spot on.

Known for its chicken fingers, so we split the 8 piece chicken finger basket. We had it served with fries and a chicken wing sauce. Food was great. Service was fine. Ambiance was appropriately beachey. Our server Jordan was perfect.

1lb of steamed shrimp at Spanky's Tybee Island, GA
    Olga M.

First time visiting Tybee Island, GA a friend suggested that we try Spanky's restaurant, the Tybee Island location. Spanky's is walking distance to the Tybee Pier & Pavilion. There's beach parking so it can get busy depending on the day/time you get there. We enjoyed 1lb of steamed shrimp and a basket of Boom Boom shrimp. The seafood was very fresh and delicious. The service was good and our food came out pretty quickly once we sat down. Give this place a try next time you're visiting the Savannah, GA it's only a 30 minute drive to the island. Happy Yelping :)

It's pretty rare we find a place that 6 people are all okay with eating at. On vacation we decided to stop in and try it out after seeing their menu online. Inside was fun and clean, loved all the funny shirts hung up all over the place. Food was pretty good and not too expensive, the only thing is I don't recommend the fries, bland and nothing special. But service was quick and waiter was very helpful and kind!

I would've given this place five stars, but it did actually end up losing one because we did go twice and my second meal just did not live up to my first one. that being said the first meal I got was the mahi-mahi sandwich. It was amazing. I got it grilled perfectly seasoned and the fries obviously just like regular basic crinkle cut fries, but they were still good and I got a side of blue cheese to dip them in delicious. I didn't love their tartar sauce because it's less tart and more sweet, which I just don't think is normal. Usually when I get a tartar sauce it's tart. now they are known for their spuds and I will say to try them they're quite good definitely get them. Don't be scared. We also tried the crab dip in our first meal very cream cheese heavy but it is good and you do get some bits of real crab in there. We ate it with bread and tortilla chips. I'm sure the pitas are good as well. Now this is where it goes wrong in our second meal I got the fish and chips, and it was not good and it actually did end up hurting my stomach. The cod was very clearly frozen and lack luster. The breading was not crispy and they gave me very little malt vinegar when I asked for it again, tartar sauce, oddly sweet, but other than that, our service was great both times we had the same waitress and the host both times was the same guy. He was very nice and overall the place is really cute. They have some really cute stained glass, beachy decorations would recommend just don't get the fish and chips maybe.

Some kind of bisque or seafood soup- amazing, but served in styrofoam bowl took away from the experience.

Left another establishment and ended up here. Great menu, food was absolutely ridiculously delicious. Price point, a little steep, for everything to be served in plastic/Styrofoam...especially on the beach/island. Service was fine, most of the staff seemed as if they couldn't care less if any guests were there. Bland atmosphere, needed music and a vibe.

Overall 4/5: Love some fried shrimp when i'm by the water. Had to stop in on this short trip we had to savannah. Drinks 4/5: I had a slushee cocktail it was sweet and was great for how hot it was that day. Perfect end to our trip. Food 4/5: I enjoyed the fried pickles, and the shrimp seafood basket. The sauces they all paired with were good. The food hit for my cravings. Service 3/5: It was fine. Thank you, Spanky's Beachside.

Tourist trap: an establishment with the aim to attract tourists and their money, and typically providing poor yet overpriced services, entertainment, food, and other products. The first sign of trouble were the styrofoam cups, bowls, and plates, and plastic utensils. If charging $24-46 for "Dinners from the Steamer", there better be a tablecloth and proper tableware. My "Cadillac margarita" was Jose Cuervo and store-bought, bottled mix. The crab stew was gloop without crab meat. The french fries were the least unpleasant thing I had, but didn't come quickly from the under-heated frying oil. My wife's mussels were fresh and, in and of themselves, good, but they were served plain. No delicious Italian-cuisine-inspired tomato-based sauce for you! No baguette slices with whipped butter for you! They came with a single lemon wedge and a 2 oz plastic portion control cup of olive oil, butter and salt. This joint is a gloop-serving tourist trap. Go to Zunzibar instead! I'll post my five star review of Zunzibar soon.

What you find inside is a nicely appointed restaurant with a beautiful long bar which we highly recommend you eat at. Our bartender Christy was amazing. But more about her later, right now I will talk about the food. We started with the margarita scallops, which was chunks of seared scallops soaked in margarita on toasted wonton chips with a black bean corn, salsa and drizzle with a local aioli, YUM! We also had their fried green tomatoes, which came with apricot horseradish sauce and aoli. Kiki had the catch of the day, which was a grilled piece of grouper atop mediterranean couscous and a medley of mediterranean vegetables. I had the prime rib, which came with lobster Chili Churri butter and a brandy peppercorn sauce. Both entrees were amazing. Now back to our bartender Christie. To say that she wears many hats is an understatement. She greeted us when we sat at the bar, by the way, did I mention that you can reserve seats at the bar? She described the menu items in a way that you only expect to find from a waiter in the finest restaurants in the world. She addressed any and all allergy issues relating to these dishes all the while she is making drinks for patrons at the bar as well as handling the service bar for all the patrons in the restaurant. Without missing a beat, she takes our order.Buses plates from other customers and continues to make drinks for everybody in the restaurant. At this point I think I told her her new nickname should be the Flash. At one point during our dinner, we saw her serve a bottle of wine to another couple at the end of the bar. Her presentation was that of a full wine sommelier with pouring a taste for approval while showing the label of the bottle as she waited for the customers approval then pouring the glasses after approval was given. List of hats: Bartender Bar Back Waiter Sommelier Entertainer Influencer to a new generation of food service, people on Tybee island. ( She babysat the owner of Bubba Gumbo's.) Lest I forget she is also the General Manager of the restaurant. She is someone that I would like to call friend after meeting her once and eating at her restaurant only once.

Do not get the coffee at Sea Wolf Tybee…read more In Sea Wolf's defense, our server told me as such. I ordered coffee, and he practically begged me not to. "Imagine Folgers... but worse," he said. I grew up on Eight O'Clock coffee--the only brand worse than Folgers-- so opted to brave the drip from Sea Wolf Tybee. How bad could it really be? Really bad. The Sea Wolf Tybee coffee was really, really, bad. The owners have made a deal with the barrier island devil where their successful establishment came at the expense of serving the worst coffee on earth. The coffee wasn't just bland, it was reeking with flavor, as if a tybee island horseshoe crab has been decaying in the coffee pot since the eatery was established in 2020. The server tried his hardest to prevent this 4-star review by warning me about the coffee, and in his defense the taste is not why I deducted Sea Wolf Tybee one star. I deducted one star because the vile 12oz cup of black drip coffee was $5 dollars. Like any diner at a lunch spot, I did not check the coffee's price before ordering it, assuming it'd be the standard $2-3 dollars. Even specialty coffee shops max their drip coffee prices at $4.50. Instead, Sea Wolf Tybee has opted to charge $5, rake-in a 95% profit margin, and exploit the trust of patrons who assume a cup of joe won't cost as much as Georgia's hourly minimum wage. I'm a former barista and coffee-lover, and $5 is the most expensive drip coffee I have ever encountered. Sea Wolf Tybee had outdone itself--the bill was more nauseating than the coffee.
