1lb of steamed shrimp at Spanky's Tybee Island, GA
    Olga M.

First time visiting Tybee Island, GA a friend suggested that we try Spanky's restaurant, the Tybee Island location. Spanky's is walking distance to the Tybee Pier & Pavilion. There's beach parking so it can get busy depending on the day/time you get there. We enjoyed 1lb of steamed shrimp and a basket of Boom Boom shrimp. The seafood was very fresh and delicious. The service was good and our food came out pretty quickly once we sat down. Give this place a try next time you're visiting the Savannah, GA it's only a 30 minute drive to the island. Happy Yelping :)

Chicken Fingers sauced with chicken wing sauce. Served with house style fries. The house made ranch was spot on.

Known for its chicken fingers, so we split the 8 piece chicken finger basket. We had it served with fries and a chicken wing sauce. Food was great. Service was fine. Ambiance was appropriately beachey. Our server Jordan was perfect.

It's pretty rare we find a place that 6 people are all okay with eating at. On vacation we decided to stop in and try it out after seeing their menu online. Inside was fun and clean, loved all the funny shirts hung up all over the place. Food was pretty good and not too expensive, the only thing is I don't recommend the fries, bland and nothing special. But service was quick and waiter was very helpful and kind!

I would've given this place five stars, but it did actually end up losing one because we did go twice and my second meal just did not live up to my first one. that being said the first meal I got was the mahi-mahi sandwich. It was amazing. I got it grilled perfectly seasoned and the fries obviously just like regular basic crinkle cut fries, but they were still good and I got a side of blue cheese to dip them in delicious. I didn't love their tartar sauce because it's less tart and more sweet, which I just don't think is normal. Usually when I get a tartar sauce it's tart. now they are known for their spuds and I will say to try them they're quite good definitely get them. Don't be scared. We also tried the crab dip in our first meal very cream cheese heavy but it is good and you do get some bits of real crab in there. We ate it with bread and tortilla chips. I'm sure the pitas are good as well. Now this is where it goes wrong in our second meal I got the fish and chips, and it was not good and it actually did end up hurting my stomach. The cod was very clearly frozen and lack luster. The breading was not crispy and they gave me very little malt vinegar when I asked for it again, tartar sauce, oddly sweet, but other than that, our service was great both times we had the same waitress and the host both times was the same guy. He was very nice and overall the place is really cute. They have some really cute stained glass, beachy decorations would recommend just don't get the fish and chips maybe.

Overall 4/5: Love some fried shrimp when i'm by the water. Had to stop in on this short trip we had to savannah. Drinks 4/5: I had a slushee cocktail it was sweet and was great for how hot it was that day. Perfect end to our trip. Food 4/5: I enjoyed the fried pickles, and the shrimp seafood basket. The sauces they all paired with were good. The food hit for my cravings. Service 3/5: It was fine. Thank you, Spanky's Beachside.

Some kind of bisque or seafood soup- amazing, but served in styrofoam bowl took away from the experience.

This Wet Willie's isn't far from the beach and sits on the little Tybee Island strip. There were two other parties sitting and eating when we entered, so we just fell in line at another table. Only two of us were drinking so we headed to the bar. The young guy helping us wasn't super helpful, to be honest lol he seemed a little annoyed that we were asking questions and digging into the menu. When we asked questions, he answered but I would have loved to hear his favorites or any sort of recommendations. I opted for a combo that was super ugly but it worked! I was surprised that they also had food on the menu. If they offered food at other Wet Willie's that I've visited, I do not remember lol. This menu included some classic favorites such as wings, tacos and quesadillas. We tried all of the above as well as their sliders. The food was actually good. Maybe not Michelin star ready, but tasty! I appreciated that a gentleman, (who I assume is the manager) came by each table checking in on us and our experience. That always takes an experience to another level for me, so appreciated!

What you find inside is a nicely appointed restaurant with a beautiful long bar which we highly recommend you eat at. Our bartender Christy was amazing. We started with the margarita scallops, which was chunks of seared scallops soaked in margarita on toasted wonton chips with a black bean corn, salsa and drizzle with a local aioli, YUM! We also had their fried green tomatoes, which came with apricot horseradish sauce and aoli. Kiki had the catch of the day, which was a grilled piece of grouper atop mediterranean couscous and a medley of mediterranean vegetables. I had the prime rib, which came with lobster Chili Churri butter and a brandy peppercorn sauce. Both entrees were amazing. Now back to our bartender Christie. To say that she wears many hats is an understatement. She greeted us when we sat at the bar, by the way, did I mention that you can reserve seats at the bar? She described the menu items in a way that you only expect to find from a waiter in the finest restaurants in the world. She addressed any and all allergy issues relating to these dishes all the while she is making drinks for patrons at the bar as well as handling the service bar for all the patrons in the restaurant. Without missing a beat, she takes our order.Buses plates from other customers and continues to make drinks for everybody in the restaurant.
