(3.5/5 Stars) Sunday, May 31, 2026 Our visit to Top Crab was a good experience overall, with some definite highlights and a few areas that could use improvement. When we first arrived, the staff was friendly, although several employees were gathered around the podium on their cell phones. That said, we were seated immediately, which was appreciated. Our server, Nette, was fantastic throughout the meal, friendly, attentive, and consistently checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was not quite what we expected. Rather than a traditional Low Country seafood feel, it had more of an urban club vibe. Not necessarily a bad thing, just different from what we anticipated. For appetizers, we ordered the Fried Okra and Calamari, and both arrived piping hot and fresh. The calamari was especially impressive and came with a sweet Thai dipping sauce that was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The food overall was fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. I ordered the Fried Fish & Shrimp but also wanted fried oysters. Unfortunately, there wasn't an option to build a seafood combo, so I ended up purchasing two separate entrées. It would be great if Top Crab offered a "pick 2 or 3 seafood items" combo like many other seafood restaurants. Matt ordered the Seafood Boil (Combo A, Medium Heat), and it was easily the star of the evening. The seasoning was spot-on, the seafood was cooked perfectly, and the portion size was generous enough that he had leftovers to take home. The shrimp were juicy and flavorful, and the seasoning had just the right amount of kick. The crab legs were decent but didn't have as much meat as he had expected. Overall, if you're looking for a quick meal and good seafood in the Savannah area, Top Crab is definitely worth a visit. Great service from Nette, flavorful food, and several menu items that would bring us back again. While there are a few things that could be improved, we enjoyed our experience and will likely return in the future. read more

Y'all don't know how bad I've been craving a low country boil! This place delivered! Lots of choices of combos. We ate until we both couldn't eat another bite! All the seafood, the corn, the potatoes, it was all heavenly! You get bibs and plastic gloves. Our waitress was very good with her timing. A pro. And so many cocktails, wow! Had a great experience on a Wednesday evening at TCS. A local recommended this restaurant and we really enjoyed it. We were greeted and promptly seated when we arrived. The service was good. The inside was nice and the food was delicious! I ordered the seafood boil, I think it was A and I got all the seasonings and asked for mild. My hubby got the fried catfish and shrimp platter with fried rice, my kids ordered the tenders and wings and our other guest ordered the shrimp basket. Everything was good! We've never been inside this restaurant but had delivery from there twice in April while visiting and it was phenomenal! We arrived in Whitemarsh Island one night and were too exhausted from traveling to go out so we ordered the low country boil with scallops to eat while we settled in - it was so good! Fresh, lots of food for two of us, perfectly seasoned, and hot when it arrived. It was so yummy, we ended up ordering it again our last night in town! You walk in to a filthy porch over a green scum-covered pond, and are confronted with grossly dirty doors. The clientele is of the yelling at their kids kind, blasting their cell phone calls, then going outside to rev their cars and broadcast loud music. The tables are covered with paper, your food comes in a plastic basket, and is mediocre at best...partially too hard to chew and tasted like old grass. The whole place smells like cleaning fluid, and when we left, one of the hostesses had her head down, sleeping on the counter, while the other was on her phone. My family and I had an extremely disappointing experience at Top Crab in Savannah. We placed both a food and drink order shortly after being seated, yet we never received our drinks and our food never arrived. While we were waiting, the table next to us--who were seated about 20 minutes after us--received both their drinks and their food. Around the 40-minute mark of our wait, another table was seated and they were served drinks almost immediately. Meanwhile, we were still sitting there with nothing. After waiting far longer than we should have without any service or updates, we decided to leave. On our way out, we stopped to speak with the manager, hoping they would at least show some concern or offer an explanation. Unfortunately, the response we received was dismissive and it was clear she could not have cared less about the situation. To make matters worse, another table ended up leaving as well. What the manager didn't realize is that we were repeat customers who regularly bring new people to this restaurant. Because of this experience, they've now lost not only our future visits but also the new and returning business we previously brought with us, along with other family members who frequented this establishment. Customer service and accountability matter, and sadly neither were present during this visit. We won't be returning. read more

Food is cooked fresh as it's ordered. I love that you can mix and create your own seafood boil with your favorite seafood items. I tend to go a little basic with just shrimp, crab and crawfish. The mild and medium spice are both pretty mild so if you're looking for more of a kick definitely go with hot or spicier. Service is simply okay. Lots of young workers and I feel like once they bring your food out they're done for the day. Seafood boils tend to be salty so I run through water. I hate having to wait 15/20 minutes for my server to come by just for a drink refill. Other than that I've never had a major issue. Place is pretty clean although the most recent time I visited the restaurant smelled like a mix of fabuloso and old mop water. My group was sat at a booth next to the register and when we asked for the trash can to be moved since it was directly behind us it seemed like an issue. I understand there's a place for everything but if that's the case don't sit people next to the trash can. Overall, I recommend their food. Just a couple minor things to consider. read more

Time and time again I go to top crab when I don't want to drive a little farther to get seafood. Each time I hope it's better but the music is always too loud. When you go into pick up your to go order I sat down once, but it was early dinner or brunch, so there wasn't any music. I think that the customer service at pick up, could be better. The food is always good, but this last time it didn't look like they cooked it thoroughly, but because I like seafood I reheated and it was good to go. I just wish that they would tone down the music even though it's a bar not a club I feel that patrons thats in a day establishment shouldn't have to listen to the extra loud noise read more

I mean... it was meh. The restaurant seemed fairly clean. Our server was nice- decently attentive. Unfortunately the food was not great. We got the steamed oysters and they were overly fishy. I've had oysters (elsewhere) a lot and I usually love them. My husband and I shared a seafood boil. We got scallops, snow crab, shrimp, and crawfish. The shrimp were delicious. The snow crab was cold in spots. The scallops somehow took on zero flavor from the seasonings. The crawfish were just underwhelming but I mean... they were crawfish so I wasn't entirely surprised lol. The corn tasted off but the potatoes were fine. The Cajun, garlic butter seasoning we got tasted great but it seemed to only translate well on the shrimp. The tap water served tasted like aquarium water. This is our first visit since this establishment reopened. I don't remember the previous name. The menu has been greatly simplified. The nautical theme is similar to the old place without the little stream and windmill. We all got a Low Country Boil. The crab was amazing, cooked perfectly. Same for the shrimp. The sausage had a pretty good kick and the whole red potatoes were delicious . The corn was the only draw back. It didn't seem fresh but it was ok. We didn't get any silverware and when I asked, we were given little plastic forks. Not very helpful for crab legs that were not scored. There evidently was an offer for free blue mussels with a low boil. The waitress asked us if we wanted mussels but we were unaware of the offer so we declined. I came in last night for the first time and it was pretty packed but we were still sat at our table within 20 minutes . While we were waiting, we went to the bar to order a drink. I ordered a vodka/club soda nothing fancy but it came out well mixed and I didn't have to wait long. My server was Anne and she was super kind and helpful! I recently visited top crab with 30 minutes of my family. They assigned 1 waitress to the group. We waited about 25 minutes to get drink. Some drink never arrived until we complained about. The food orders came out the kids and none seafood meals came out first. I received my salad and was disappointed iceberg lettuce big chunks the topping scared to say the least. The ranch dressing tasted like a weak mayonnaise. I had a a veggie bag and all the seasonings was in the broth no flavor in the actual food the egg in the bag was overcooked. My seafood eater love their food disappointed about portion size could have been a little bigger. The decor was ok. I won't say never again but I'd think twice before going. read more

Top Crab in Savannah is a great addition and excellent choice when you are looking for a great seafood boil in a nice atmosphere. I visited here on a Saturday evening with a relatively large party and was thoroughly impressed with their level of service and accommodation at the last minute. We did sit in the party room with about 3-4 other large parties, but our waitress was very attentive and we never felt neglected. The food here is amazing! I had the Seafood Combo A which was 1/2 lb of Shrimp, Crab and Sausage. You definitely get your moneys worth here and feel that they are giving you the right portions. We went to lunch at top crap or should I say the bottom crap. We will never return there or it to others. There were a couple of people there before us. After we ordered, there were several groups that came in. We waited and waited for our food. Others that came in after us were served their food first. We asked our waitress about our food and was told that food was ready and would be right out. Fifteen minutes later the food came. Everyone else were finishing eating.
