Made reservations here during a family weekend in Savannah. We were greeted at the door by an employee who asked if we had reservations, and before we could even give her the name it was under she already knew. We may have been the only reservation, but I immediately felt welcomed. For appetizers we had the steak bruschetta and dip duo (with palmetto cheese dip and roasted tomato + goat cheese dip), and all of it was delicious, especially the steak bruschetta. For my main I had the chicken mac and cheese (with BBQ sauce) and it was great. Perfect portion, too - I ended up taking a little home. I did try one drink, the Presbyterian, but it wasn't anything special. It had too much soda water. But everyone else at my table seemed to enjoy their drinks. For many years, I loved Oak 36. It was my go-to date place. I was beside myself when they had a fire and they were closed for a little while but since reopening, they have really declined. Service is slow and inattentive. Our meals often come out at different times and now they have instituted a mandatory 2.5% service charge to offset the "higher than normal industry charges". Just raise your prices. It's tacky to add on nonsense fees that leave customers feeling nickel and dimed, especially when the recent service is lacking and bonefish grill is just a couple doors down. read more

We ordered a chicken Sammy, a pepperoni jalapeño pizza (fair warning: the jalapeños are fire hot ), a mushroom Swiss patty melt, and a small Caesar salad. The salad was unique--made with crisp lettuce, cucumbers, baby red tomatoes, a flavorful Caesar dressing, and topped with crushed pretzels. It was very good and a fun twist on a classic. I also love that they serve Mr. Pibb--a rare find! The staff explained that it's a scratch kitchen and their meats come from organic, grass-fed cows, which makes the quality stand out. For four people, our total was $80, which felt very reasonable for the quality and experience. One small note: don't drink the water--it resembles Florida water, and not in a good way. Decided to stop in here on a Sunday for brunch. Outstanding service!!! Our waitress was very attentive and answered all our questions concerning food and selection. I ended up getting the BLT and let me tell you they have the best bacon I've ever had! Thick maple and brown sugar tasting. It went perfect with the lettuce tomato and sourdough bread. It is conveniently located next door to the Savannah Wine Cellar where we had been enjoying a mid-afternoon sip or three or four. I don't feel like it's a space for a rowdy football game, but would be a nice spot to watch a game while eating dinner. The server was wonderful, very attentive. We ordered the brussels sprouts as a starter. They looked absolutely delicious - pan fried with some sort of sauce on them. The brussels sprouts looked like they would have a crisp to them, but they very greasy. We only ate a small bit of them. For dinner my friend ordered the chicken fried chicken. The plate looked delish but the chicken was dry. I got the Ol' Texas short rib with chimichurri new potatoes and green beans. The meat was very tender but everything was overly oiled/greasy. Was in town for work and wanted to grab some dinner with my co worker. We arrived around 7 pm on a Wednesday night, the place was packed and lively! When it arrived to the table, I was surprised. There was a lid on the plate and as the waiter lifted it off, the cloud of smoke dispersed. Now I know why they call it a cold smoked caesar salad. Vacationing in Savannah, Ga. this week. This cool place was in walking distance of our hotel. We walked over to the bar to grab appetizers for dinner. The bar was decorated very nicely with a modern look. It is an open room with the bar to the left as you enter. There was a plant sculpture on the wall that brought out the southern charm with a contemporary look. Our server Matt was very attentive and checked on us frequently. Great spot & location in a cute shopping center! My friend & I stopped here for a late lunch on a Thursday. They sat us right away outside, to enjoy the spring sun before the summer heat hits Savannah. We split a BYO flatbread with marinara, basil & balsamic glaze and an O-36 Salad w/o egg. Both very tasty! It was light enough that we weren't stuffed, but enough that we could share. I visited on Monday, July 3rd and the place was practically empty. My preference is bar seating when I dine alone. In addition, there was a purse hook available. It's the simple things for me lol. My visit from start to finish was awesome! I tried two cocktails which were both really good. Neither of these drinks had a kick to them despite the bartender stating the peach tea would be strong. The Zesty Thai Chili Wings and fries were definitely tasty. They weren't too spicy...they were just right. There weren't a lot of patrons dining in which was surprising. Then again, it was the day before the 4th of July. I would like to see what the atmosphere looks like during happy hour which is Monday - Friday between 3pm to 6 pm. Overall, love the environment and the food was delicious. My friends tried the ceviche and a different flavor of wings which they enjoyed as well. Came here for a late lunch and enjoyed the experience! We arrived around 4pm (ok..so super late lunch/early dinner) for some eats and cocktails. They were very slow when we arrived so we were happily able to be seated right away. Our server brought us water and took our beverage order. I opted for a classic old fashioned and my dining companion went for a Manhattan. My old fashioned was strong and delish (made with Woodford Reserve). The Manhattan wasn't quite as good (I tried it)--it tasted as though it was made with dry vermouth which is not a usual choice in most bars we frequent, and we found it a bit too dry. We ordered brussels sprouts to start and then I ordered a gouda pimento cheese burger with fries and my dining companion ordered their nashville hot chicken sandwich with fries. Somehow, the order got mixed up and instead of bringing our brussels sprouts as a starter, they brought them as a side with my dining companion's hot chicken sandwich. They made it right by bringing him an additional side of fries and we shared the brussels (plus our server kindly didn't charge us for the brussels). The brussels sprouts were divine. Best go to spot we have! I had the chicken fried chicken last night and it was to die for!! The mashed potatoes were so creamy and rich and the chicken was fried to perfection as always! The gravy could make an old boot taste good!! My only hang up last night, I asked for a virgin margarita and asked that they add some ginger ale in place of the tequila. The server brought me just a glass of margarita mix so it was incredibly tart and I could only drink a little bit. When the bill came, which is digital so you have no option to look at the prices, I asked how much the margarita was. The server said $6. I pointed out that their well drinks (WITH alcohol) are $5 (HH menu currently running). He replied that I ordered a mocktail and they add $2 to that cause they have to mix it and make it special...
