The place has a really laid-back dive bar vibe, which is exactly what makes it great. The drinks are affordable, the bartenders are quick even when it gets busy, and the crowd is always a mix of locals and people just out having a good time. Tonight the energy was exactly what you'd expect for St. Patrick's weekend in Savannah -- packed, lively, and just a good time overall. It's the kind of place where you pop in for one drink and end up staying longer than you planned. If you're bar hopping on River Street or just want a casual spot with good vibes and strong drinks, Pour Larry's is always worth the stop. Basic beer and drinks. This is NOT a cocktail bar. You might get a gin and tonic or Negroni or something, but nothing fancy. TON of pool tables. Very lively spot, but not overly crowded. Then next door there is what could be described as a tavern. The menu says, "Over Yonder." It has a stage for entertainment, booths, a bar, and they serve food, including tenders, burgers, wings, tacos, fries, burritos, etc. All of the staff were super down to earth and welcoming. All sorts of people here, mostly younger though. Definitely a 70s type of place that makes you feel like you're in another time. I didn't try the food because I wasn't hungry, but everything looked really good! Might stop by for a snack the next time it's late and I'm tipsy. It's just a couple hundred feet away from lone wolf, another popular lounge, and about 3-4/10 of a mile from the main drag of the Starland District and Water Witch Tiki, so you could make a bar crawl night of it.

We grabbed a seat at one of the shared picnic tables and ended up making like six friends. People were actually striking up random conversations with each other, which caught us completely off guard coming from DC where that.... never happens. It was a really easy, welcoming spot with good energy. Very neighborhoody.

The girl that took care of us was wonderful. We started with a couple of brussel sprouts appetizers. I would definitely say everyone enjoyed it. I can't remember what everyone else had but there was not a single complaint from anyone about what they had. And as for what I had, it was the chicken fried chicken. It was fried chicken breast on top of mashed potatoes, topped with gravy and a side of fresh green beans. The green beans were my favorite part, they were perfect. Other then the chicken being a little bit heavier than what I'm use too. I really enjoyed it.
