We didn't cause a scene--we simply got up and left. But the experience stuck with us. Businesses should be places where everyone feels respected and acknowledged, regardless of who they are. I wanted to get some white meat chicken which they don't normally serve (it seems that dark meat is the norm) but he had me take a menu and told me to call ahead and he'd be happy to throw some on the grill (smoker). I went by the Islander for a quick drink on my way home from Paula Deans Creek House and the BBQ from the food truck was much better.
