It was a busy Saturday afternoon, and while strolling down Historic River Street, we decided to stop for a quick bite to eat. Since we had our pup with us, we were limited to restaurants with outdoor seating, so we chose Dockside Seafood. The reviews were a tad shaky, so we were not sure what to expect. We were seated immediately, and our dog Coco was welcomed as well. The waitress was friendly and attentive. When she came out with our water, she also brought a bowl out for my Coco . The restaurant seemed to be full both inside and outside. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the restroom. Service was good and pretty fast. We ordered drinks, my husband had a Margarita, and I had a Purple Haze. Both were awful. We should have just ordered juice. His New Orleans Shrimp Po Boy was filled with shrimp and was quite tasty. The fries that came with the meal were ok. My crab stuffed mushrooms were underwhelming, I expected much better since we were in Savannah. My Caesar Salad was drenched in salad dressing that tasted store bought. It's definitely my fault for forgetting to ask for the dressing on the side. We had a pleasant experience, but when it comes to the food and drinks, I've had much better.

We are visiting from out of town and walked all down river st and decided to try Dockside. We ate outside and had a beautiful view of the water. Our waiter was very good and attentive. Our drinks came out promptly and we loved our food. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back!

I love the old building vibe. The service was mediocre at best. I didn't get my beer until the end of my meal once I looked to see if it was on my receipt. We ordered crab stuffed mushrooms and they were dryyyy. They needed an aioli sauce or some binding garlic butter to fuse the cheese and flavors. We also ordered fried green tomatoes which seemed previously frozen. They weren't bad though. I ordered Mussels and the wine sauce tasted bland and just like wine and water. My partner ordered catfish dinner and at one point she questioned if it was really catfish. It was!!! The chowder was actually very tasty though. Many people were getting orders to go so I'm going to say this place is doing something right... Don't let my review stop you from trying it out for yourself. The football games were on though.

Nice food, good seasoning, great beers. Ask for shrimps as they are their specialties.

Talk with the bartenders, you might discover something new (:

Perfect place to have a few drinks! There is parking across the street, pay by the hour. Earl, Justin & Abbie made us feel right at home. Hours passed we didn't even realize it, we were playing trivia and chatting so much! We tried some new spirits like Slapjack vodka which I love!!! We didn't try the food, so I can't speak on it. I'd go back just because of the incredible staff.

Nice old historic restaurant along the river. Food was good but service was poor. I'm not one to complain because I understand being wait staff is not the easiest of jobs however, after seeing people place orders and receive their food, even though we were in the restaurant before them, and had placed our order before everyone as well we still were without food finally spoke up to be told that, the printer had run out of paper and our order was not put in when it should've been. Lots of apologies and I understand how that can happen but after waiting 15 minutes to try and get our weight staff to take payment I've finally got up and went over myself. Did I leave a tip yes but not what I normally would leave, but probably still more than most. No nobody offered anything for the inconvenience and none was requested

The bathrooms are horrific! The worst I've ever seen! Food was subpar but eatable. Service was ok.

We had a light lunch of peel and eat shrimp with corn and slaw. Would order again. Service was great. Cocktail sauce could use more heat.

The oysters I got were tiny and not plump. The Broiled Oysters - Rockefeller style I got were a lot better and more plump. These tasted smelled and tasted pretty good. Steer away from Anna's gumbo as it was inedible. The taste was so weird and so salty it was like eating salt. The shrimp was hard inside. Unfortunately I had to throw away $16 of gumbo. There was a worker that was just constantly eating French fries with his gloves on near the takeout station.

It was confusing trying to figure out if we seat ourselves, wait for someone to seat us or order from the bar and then seat ourselves. We waited in a long line at the bar just to be told, seat yourself and someone will come place your order. The servers were short staffed on a busy Friday evening and overwhemled. Most of the tables that were free had not been cleaned. The menus were lamitaed and dirty. They had food stains and visible fingerprints. It also took a while for someone to greet us just to take our drink order. Once our server came, she was apologetic about the wait, she placed our order and was doing her best to help several other tables simultaneously. Honestly, it didnt take long for our food to come out. The food was disappointing. One positive, it came out hot. We both ordered the seafood platter which was 27 dollars each, totally not worth it. The platter came with haddock. Gross, it was not fresh, it tasted like bland frozen fish sticks. The calamari, was seasonless, and fried super hard. Not enjoyable at all. The shrimp, were decent, but tasted like they had been just breaded and fried, no nothing added. The cucumber salad also had no flavor. We were so disappointed. Look at the pictures, you can also clearly see the portions were skimpy for a platter. Based off of this experience I would not recommend and certainly would not try them again.

Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar lives beneath it, and the whole experience carries that same sense of place: rooted, intentional, and genuinely worth your time. We settled onto the outdoor patio, and before I had a chance to say anything, our hostess caught me glancing toward the table under the heater and quietly moved us there. No fuss, no performance -- just the kind of attentiveness you don't expect and don't forget. Our server Alesha made the meal. She steered us confidently through the menu, and her recommendations landed. We started with the boiled peanuts -- a proper Lowcountry opener -- then moved into red snapper and a seafood risotto that was rich and carefully composed without being overwrought. Sorry Charlie's sources its oysters from Savannah Oyster Company, their own farm just a few miles away, and that same commitment to local sourcing runs through everything on the plate. The building itself -- one of the oldest commercial structures in Georgia, overlooking Ellis Square -- adds a layer that most restaurants simply can't manufacture. Sorry Charlie's isn't trading on Savannah's charm so much as it's actually part of it. Great for couples, groups, or anyone who wants a meal that feels like more than a meal.

Each dish was well prepared and absolutely worth it. I didn't want to sit inside however if you choose to sit outside, just be mindful that it can get a bit busy with foot traffic since it's in a high-traffic area. It adds to the lively atmosphere, but something to keep in mind. Sit indoors for a more intimate vibe. The service staff were great. Everyone was attentive and welcoming. Overall, it gave elevated Southern dining with a view, and I'd absolutely run it back next time I'm in Savannah.

Our server was not unfriendly, but she was no nonsense and all business which I kind of appreciated, haha. I had a cup of the LOBSTER & LUMP CRAB BISQUE (Our smooth and creamy signature bisque seasoned with a blend of coastal flavors and a touch of sherry). The bisque is a vibrant pinkish orange and absolutely delicious. It is rich so a cup was all I needed. I then ordered the ICEBERG WEDGE (A crisp wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with blue cheese crumbles, bacon, tomatoes with house made blue cheese dressing). A classic, excellent wedge salad - one of my favorites and this did not disappoint. The menu seems varied and had some decent choices, I would come back to try dinner.
