First time at this restaurant and first time in Savannah in general. Came for 4th of July weekend and understand that a holiday weekend is busy but nonetheless less disappointed. Arrived to see a much more limited menu than their normal menu that we were excited about. I ordered blackened shrimp basket, my boyfriend had the low country boil, and my friend had the mahi sandwich. We also came for oysters and came to see that they only were offering just one style of oysters. They came out small and with no accompaniments aside from lemon. It was hard to stomach paying $42 for 12 tiny oysters (later seeing their prices were actually upcharged from their normal menu). Service was fine. They were attentive but seemed disorganized and comfused because we had two different servers come to take our orders at different times. At one point they ended up bringing us our waters and drink order twice. The oysters I got were tiny and not plump. The Broiled Oysters - Rockefeller style I got were a lot better and more plump. These tasted smelled and tasted pretty good. Steer away from Anna's gumbo as it was inedible. The taste was so weird and so salty it was like eating salt. The shrimp was hard inside. Unfortunately I had to throw away $16 of gumbo. For one of the lunches my work team had while staying at the JW Marriott Savannah Plant, we enjoyed a meal outside at District Seafood with the Savannah River in our view. The menu is short and straightforward for lunch at least. Not a large selection, focusing on various fish and shellfish dishes revolving around shrimp, fish and chips, and oysters primarily. If you're looking for a burger or wings, you're not going to find one here. So take note. I enjoyed my crab cake BLT immensely with bacon and tarragon aioli. I also added some Cholula for good measure, as I like the creaminess of that hot sauce with the saltiness and savoriness of the crab cake and bacon on the sandwich. Overall, service was solid, and our drinks and food orders were taken fairly quickly. It also took a while for someone to greet us just to take our drink order. Once our server came, she was apologetic about the wait, she placed our order and was doing her best to help several other tables simultaneously. Honestly, it didnt take long for our food to come out. The food was disappointing. One positive, it came out hot. We both ordered the seafood platter which was 27 dollars each, totally not worth it. The platter came with haddock. Gross, it was not fresh, it tasted like bland frozen fish sticks. The calamari, was seasonless, and fried super hard. Not enjoyable at all. The shrimp, were decent, but tasted like they had been just breaded and fried, no nothing added. The cucumber salad also had no flavor. We were so disappointed. This was our favorite place to come get a drink and watch the Savannah world go by. Excellent service! But we were not too happy with the food - not terrible, but the fish and chips were over breaded and the french fries were overcooked. I had the pleasure of ending my night at District Seafood last night, Thursday of Memorial Day weekend. The staff were friendly, attentive, and kept my glass full. I witnessed a patron come up 15 min to close to ask that their oyster selection was an all the bartender Kevin Hart said was "if you'd like to order I need to put it in now because we're closing soon" and this patron made a scene in front of his kids accosting Kevin. District Seafood is parked right along the riverfront, a long bar with no walls. You're going to experience the tugboats and freighters going downriver, the wind and weather (dress accordingly), and some pretty solid seafood. I grabbed a seat since its first come, first served, and ordered a shrimp Po Boy with kettle chips. Both were really good! I was a little disappointed that there was no draft list. They have quite a few taps and its tough to see what's available. There was live music as well, a singer/guitarist that was able to overcome the sound of the cherry picker that was working on the Marriott behind the bar. I don't know why this place isn't rated higher. My husband and I had dinner here our final night in Savannah and we loved it. We were looking for something casual and outside since we wanted to enjoy the weather. This was a short walk from our hotel, the Fairfield Inn, so it was just what we were looking for. Despite this being right on the water in a more touristy spot, service was quick! We got seated at one of the tables and checked out the menu. We decided on the shrimp roll and the crispy fish sandwich. I don't think my husband and I spoke one word to each other while we ate because we enjoyed the food so much! My fish sandwich was so fresh, and I loved that it was with haddock instead of cod. The breading was thin which I appreciated. I think it had cornmeal which gave it great flavor. The old bay fries it came with were absolute fire. Paired with a nice aperol spritz, I really felt like I was on vacation. This was a beautiful spot right on the water, perfect to take a stroll after dinner and enjoy the views. Our sandwiches were $18 each I believe, so I think the prices were more than fair considering the location and quality. read more

My parents and I happened to pass by when we decided to come to the river for a couple hours and stumbled across this place. We originally ordered the Rockefeller Oysters, said it would be 20 minutes for those and then came back like 7 minutes later and then said it would be an hour, so that's why we opted for the other broiled Oysters instead. BM's were good, but they're small. The fries were good, not too much Old Bay. The Caper Lemon Oysters were ok, they were hard to come off the shell. They didn't shuck them off the shell completely, which I thought was weird. We stayed for one night at the JW Marriott and it came with a $33 (weird number) voucher for food a drink. We walked up the the District Seafood bar to ask if they were still open since everything else around there looked closed. Clearly they were shutting down, but they happily made us drinks. Very nice of them. We have been there several times and we really love the Southern Belle cocktail and their shrimp is very good too.
