The food was AMAZING!! I was in Savannah for a family trip and several of us chose to eat here. I ordered the Seared Redfish and it was delicious. My daughter, who's been here a few times, ordered the Shrimp & Grits and like her last visit said they were the bomb! My husband ordered Fish & fries and said the fish was good, but he didn't like the fries. I tried 1 then ate as much of them as I could. They were actually pretty good, so maybe his taste was off. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was nice and I was sitting in front of the live performer and he did a fantastic job on the guitar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came 20 minutes before closing Kaitlin sat us at the bar and didn't make us feel rushed. Put our order in and got 2 drinks in about 5 seconds. Friendly and accommodating awesome service from Kaitlin was awesome. I got the fried shrimps and old bay fries. Very tasty. Also the oysters awesome as well. Thanks for making our evening a great one. Will definitely be back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful views of the river.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Over 50 restaurants in almost walking distance. But come by and get a drink and great service from Kaitlin!!

Quick stop for some oysters and drinks. All good! Service was prompt and [[HIGHLIGHT]]ambiance was cool (riverfront)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. 4.4 stars!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a nice place to eat near the river and right outside the JW Marriott.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's some tables and a bar area under the shade.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The fresh oysters are probably a hit or miss. The oysters I got were tiny and not plump. The Broiled Oysters - Rockefeller style I got were a lot better and more plump. These tasted smelled and tasted pretty good. Steer away from Anna's gumbo as it was inedible. The taste was so weird and so salty it was like eating salt. The shrimp was hard inside. Unfortunately I had to throw away $16 of gumbo. There was a worker that was just constantly eating French fries with his gloves on near the takeout station.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice spot to enjoy the Savannah riverfront with some food and drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have TVs, I happened to catch Sunday Night Football during dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have several good beers on tap and a pretty simple menu. I ordered the crispy fish sandwich which was good and a reasonable price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall a good experience for a nice casual dinner outdoors on the waterfront![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We were looking for seafood on the river, this place had decent reviews. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great location. Outside seating only, with a covered bar and an overhead open tent for live music with seating for eating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was confusing trying to figure out if we seat ourselves, wait for someone to seat us or order from the bar and then seat ourselves. We waited in a long line at the bar just to be told, seat yourself and someone will come place your order. The servers were short staffed on a busy Friday evening and overwhemled. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Most of the tables that were free had not been cleaned.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menus were lamitaed and dirty. They had food stains and visible fingerprints. It also took a while for someone to greet us just to take our drink order. Once our server came, she was apologetic about the wait, she placed our order and was doing her best to help several other tables simultaneously. Honestly, it didnt take long for our food to come out. The food was disappointing. One positive, it came out hot. We both ordered the seafood platter which was 27 dollars each, totally not worth it. The platter came with haddock. Gross, it was not fresh, it tasted like bland frozen fish sticks. The calamari, was seasonless, and fried super hard. Not enjoyable at all. The shrimp, were decent, but tasted like they had been just breaded and fried, no nothing added. The cucumber salad also had no flavor. We were so disappointed. Look at the pictures, you can also clearly see the portions were skimpy for a platter. Based off of this experience I would not recommend and certainly would not try them again.

I wasn't expecting much food wise because of the rating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Of course the atmosphere is favorable and refreshing with the outdoor seating, and it wasn't too crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff seemed overwhelmed, but some were pleasant, and others were like a touch of melancholy with a bit of niceness attempting to push through. We had to place our order at the bar. Once the food came, I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the fried shrimp. They were a really good size, fried well, and seem hand breaded in house. The flavor of the breading was really good. The fries were bearable. I do wish they were fresher. Everyone else seemed to have enjoyed their food as well.

One of the stops on the boardwalk out side the hotel. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great views and nice beers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had Annas' gumbo too munch on. Some good flavors but did not knock our socks off. Was very filling though. Bartenders were super friendly too!

District Seafood is parked right along the riverfront, a long bar with no walls. You're going to experience the tugboats and freighters going downriver, the wind and weather (dress accordingly), and some pretty solid seafood. I grabbed a seat since its first come, first served, and ordered a shrimp Po Boy with kettle chips. Both were really good! I was a little disappointed that there was no draft list. They have quite a few taps and its tough to see what's available. There was live music as well, a singer/guitarist that was able to overcome the sound of the cherry picker that was working on the Marriott behind the bar. There are also several TV's playing sports.

    Omar R.

Great food, decent portions, and great outdoor atmosphere. The service was a bit slow but they were crowded. So, it's not really their fault. Make sure to seat by the river to enjoy the view and the vibe. Very friendly staff.

Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.

It was giving chain restaurant a little more than I expected. We tried the grilled oyster sampler, and while they all looked slightly different, somehow they all tasted like variations of Rockefeller. I could not tell you which was which. The she-crab soup? Absolutely not. Zero flavor. I took one bite and sent it back, and I rarely send food back. The shrimp & grits were... interesting. Very sweet, very corn-forward, and the texture was more porridge/cream of wheat than the thick, savory grits I had in mind. Was it terrible? No. On a rainy day, I could actually see myself eating a bowl of it. But if you tell me shrimp & grits, my mouth has already prepared for something completely different. Now--the fried green tomatoes? THAT was the star. Crispy, topped with a little crab salad and this hot sauce that pulled the whole thing together. The crab cakes were pretty solid too, especially with the two sauces, and the collard greens were tender and well done. Overall, I'd come back for lunch, oysters, drinks and a few appetizers. But dinner reservation? I'm not jumping through hoops. Savannah has too many really good restaurants for that. 3/5 -- cute, fun, a few hits, but the food needed a little more love.

Sitting along the river while watching massive cargo ships slowly make their way toward the Atlantic creates one of those uniquely Savannah experiences you simply can't find anywhere else. Our server, Matthew, was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely made the evening even more enjoyable. Service like his is a big part of what turns a great meal into an unforgettable one. Now, the food... The crab cake was one of the best I've ever had--easily 95% lump crab with barely any filler. Just fresh, sweet crab prepared perfectly. The beef carpaccio was elegant, incredibly flavorful, and disappeared far too quickly. Then came the French onion soup. There's a reason the National Onion Association recognized it as the best. Rich, deeply caramelized, perfectly balanced, and topped with a blanket of bubbling cheese. Without question, the best French onion soup I've ever had. The black truffle scallops were buttery, tender, and absolutely decadent. The evening's special--a blackened filet paired with shrimp linguine--was phenomenal. The filet was cooked to perfection, and the shrimp linguine brought bold Cajun flavors that made us feel like we had been transported straight to Louisiana. To finish it all off, watching enormous cargo ships leave the Port of Savannah bound for destinations around the world while enjoying an incredible meal is an experience all its own. Vic's on the River delivered on every level: exceptional food, first-class service, and an atmosphere that's impossible to duplicate. This wasn't just another dinner--it was one of the highlights of our trip to Savannah. Don't leave without ordering the French onion soup. The lobster soup was the best of all we ordered and it was pretty mediocre. No sherry, cream, nor lobster to be found. The tuna was the worst I've ever had and should not be served. Really I should've sent it back, but my son dug in first and ate two pieces, so I felt bad sending it back. I begrudgingly ate my two pieces while my wife only had one. The deviled eggs had overcooked shrimp and a spec of prosciutto. The crab cake was tiny and mediocre. Finally, the mahi dish was maybe a 3 ounce portion with bits of pineapple scattered around basic orzo pasta. The fact that the majority of the few patrons there all ordered fried chicken and Mac n cheese should've been a hint. The restaurant may be by the water, but they are NOT a seafood restaurant. Oh and they charged me 4 extra dollars for "rocks" since I ordered Bourbon on the rocks. We had a shit meal and two drinks each for $175!!! There were a good number of shrimp in the serving. The Crab Cake Sandwich was good. It was not as full of lump crab meat as other crab cakes that we've had elsewhere. The Catfish Fingers were large pieces of catfish that were lightly fried. The Shrimp Poboy was satisfying. The Parmesan Garlic Grits were disappointing.
