Fish bar by the river
Peter H.

Nice spot to enjoy the Savannah riverfront with some food and drinks. They have TVs, I happened to catch Sunday Night Football during dinner. They have several good beers on tap and a pretty simple menu. I ordered the crispy fish sandwich which was good and a reasonable price. Overall a good experience for a nice casual dinner outdoors on the waterfront!

I wasn't expecting much food wise because of the rating. Of course the atmosphere is favorable and refreshing with the outdoor seating, and it wasn't too crowded. The staff seemed overwhelmed, but some were pleasant, and others were like a touch of melancholy with a bit of niceness attempting to push through. We had to place our order at the bar. Once the food came, I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the fried shrimp. They were a really good size, fried well, and seem hand breaded in house. The flavor of the breading was really good. The fries were bearable. I do wish they were fresher. Everyone else seemed to have enjoyed their food as well.

One of the stops on the boardwalk out side the hotel. Great views and nice beers. We had Annas' gumbo too munch on. Some good flavors but did not knock our socks off. Was very filling though. Bartenders were super friendly too!

Food was very good,wouldc9me back. Low seafood boil was rich & buttery! Shrimp & grits were awesome.

District Seafood is parked right along the riverfront, a long bar with no walls. You're going to experience the tugboats and freighters going downriver, the wind and weather (dress accordingly), and some pretty solid seafood. I grabbed a seat since its first come, first served, and ordered a shrimp Po Boy with kettle chips. Both were really good! I was a little disappointed that there was no draft list. They have quite a few taps and its tough to see what's available. There was live music as well, a singer/guitarist that was able to overcome the sound of the cherry picker that was working on the Marriott behind the bar. There are also several TV's playing sports.

Great food, decent portions, and great outdoor atmosphere. The service was a bit slow but they were crowded. So, it's not really their fault. Make sure to seat by the river to enjoy the view and the vibe. Very friendly staff.

Nice view, great food. Service took forever, we were there for almost 2 hours, I wasn't having any drinks only soda and it felt like forever.

I don't know why this place isn't rated higher. My husband and I had dinner here our final night in Savannah and we loved it. We were looking for something casual and outside since we wanted to enjoy the weather. This was a short walk from our hotel, the Fairfield Inn, so it was just what we were looking for. Despite this being right on the water in a more touristy spot, service was quick! We got seated at one of the tables and checked out the menu. We decided on the shrimp roll and the crispy fish sandwich. I don't think my husband and I spoke one word to each other while we ate because we enjoyed the food so much! My fish sandwich was so fresh, and I loved that it was with haddock instead of cod. The breading was thin which I appreciated. I think it had cornmeal which gave it great flavor. The old bay fries it came with were absolute fire. Paired with a nice aperol spritz, I really felt like I was on vacation. This was a beautiful spot right on the water, perfect to take a stroll after dinner and enjoy the views. Our sandwiches were $18 each I believe, so I think the prices were more than fair considering the location and quality.

My parents and I happened to pass by when we decided to come to the river for a couple hours and stumbled across this place. The view is spectacular and it's on the opposite end which is not very busy and much more clean on the river. (The J W Marriot Hotel Entrance) The vibe is very chill, we had to wait for them to "open" at 11. It's pretty pricey which is typical for Savannah I think. We had Bloody Mary's, Old Bay Fries and Broiled Caper Lemon Oysters. The service was VERY SLOW. We originally ordered the Rockefeller Oysters, said it would be 20 minutes for those and then came back like 7 minutes later and then said it would be an hour, so that's why we opted for the other broiled Oysters instead. BM's were good, but they're small. The fries were good, not too much Old Bay. The Caper Lemon Oysters were ok, they were hard to come off the shell. They didn't shuck them off the shell completely, which I thought was weird. I mean it was an ok place, if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle. But expect to pay the price.

Fried shrimp platter is a full pound of $30

The location is the only positive. The food was overpriced for small portions and the oysters were chewy and poorly cooked.

It feels high-end but keeps it strictly comfortable, kind of like a classic 90s beat--smooth, but with enough weight to keep it real. I rocked the namesake seafood soup and the Brussels sprouts, and they both hit. But the real MVP of the night was my wife's cornmeal-crusted fish and grits. She's been eating her way through Savannah all week, and she called this the undisputed champ. The waitstaff was 100--on point and kept everything moving. Both were amazing, totally enjoyed it. We also had some mocktails that were delicious. Great place.

The bisque is a vibrant pinkish orange and absolutely delicious. It is rich so a cup was all I needed. I then ordered the ICEBERG WEDGE (A crisp wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with blue cheese crumbles, bacon, tomatoes with house made blue cheese dressing). You start out with a choice of bread, followed by lettuce, tomato, and French dressing, bacon and cheese. Minus the bacon and cheese of course course the sandwich was actually quite good. You get a very nice piece of salmon cooked the way you want it and it did not have that fishy taste or smell. You also get a choice of sides unfortunately they forgot to include my potato salad side. To kick off the lunch, I went with their clam chowder with potato. This was pretty good with a good amount of clams, but it was a tad on the salty side.
