A decent cocktail stop with patio seats overlooking the river. We heard the music and went upstairs. Service was a bit awkward as we weren't sure who to flag down for an order as any servers seemed like they were avoiding us instead of finding us a seat and menu etc. We got it worked out. Drinks were satisfying. CritDicks

Ate here several times while staying upstairs, and each time we tried something different and really enjoyed everything. My husband really liked the oatmeal for breakfast, as it featured fresh fruit. We both loved the cheeseburgers --cooked to perfection and juicy. Staff were very friendly and very nice; great view of the river if you eat outside. We'd definitely go back!

We had an ok experience at Broken Keel. It started out good and then somehow our order got lost in the kitchen or it was never entered into the system. Our server let us know and we were playing a game so we didn't really notice how long it was taking for our food to come out. Once he told us it still took almost another 30 minutes. During our visit it rained multiple times and the weather started to cool off. We asked for the heaters (above our heads) to be turned on and the manager offered to turn them on and bring us blankets. We waited and waited and had to ask again for this to actually happen. We also asked for something to munch on since our food was taking so long. They brought chips and salsa which was great but in our opinion that should have come as soon as they realized our order was lost. Once our food arrived we enjoyed it but we were so ready to leave and our stay just kept getting drawn out. We had to track down our server to get our check and we got 10% off our bill. We felt like that was pretty measly considering what happened. We ended up being at the restaurant for almost three hours. The atmosphere is great and the food was good but unfortunately our experience wasn't the best. We'll probably skip it next time we're in town.

Breakfast on the smallest plate possible

Breakfast was not great. Our server disappeared and the food was served on the smallest plate possible. The hash browns were terribly greasy. The bar was fine. Nice music outside and games to play on the bar.

Food was delicious. Very big piece of fish. Service was kind slow and inattentive but over good experience

First time in Savannah. Staying at River Street Inn. This seafood place is located in the hotel. It definitely achieves the nautical theme with ease. Very pleasant if not a little noisy for my taste. Extremely large portions. The bisque was excellent. Service was decent.

Came for breakfast and thought everything was just mediocre. The omelette also had a ton of oil -- which wasn't ideal given I ordered it to be on the healthier side. I'd also stay away from the coffee which tasted just like grounds and water had been sitting in a pot for a few days. The food also takes a long time to come out so be prepared to wait a bit. The positive was our server was very nice.

Frozen strawberry drink and almost ready martini (lol)

Monday night on river street in historic district Savannah. This great bar is on the Second floor patio overlooking the river. The martini was ginormous and I could only handle one but it was super good. The strawberry frozen margarita was very tasty. Raw oysters were good but tiny, but the Firecracker Shrimp made the night. It was sooo good, you have to try it!! And the servers were so sweet. They were so nice to allow us to bring Lexi along and even brought her water. Really, Savannah is such a dog friendly place, it makes my heart happy. I highly recommend a visit here.

Great Food, Laid-Back Vibe, but Service Needs Work We stopped by Broken Keel along the Savannah River and loved the outdoor vibe--it's chill, laid-back, and the live music really adds to the atmosphere. It's a great place to relax, grab a drink, and enjoy the view. We sat at the bar, ordered a beer, and a few mains. The food was excellent--definitely 5-star quality. Everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the food. It took about 8-10 minutes just to be acknowledged at the bar, and once we were, things didn't improve much. We didn't get refills on our water, and we weren't given any silverware--we actually had to go find it ourselves. So while the food and ambiance were great, the service was disappointing. I'd give the food 5 stars but the service only 2. Hopefully, they can tighten things up a bit because this place has a lot of potential!

So disappointed by how tasteless and unenjoyable the Surf-'N'-Turf Burger was.

The keel isn't the only thing needing repair. Had lunch in this spot fortuitously located in a prime tourist area on a Saturday while spending a weekend in town. Not many other tables in the restaurant. The server was friendly enough, but we only saw her twice and someone else had to bring us our check. The lobster bisque was thin and bland. The strawberry summer salad was paltry and unimpressive for $17. The surf and turf burger, which sounded delicious enough on the menu that I was willing to spend $26 was not at all delicious. An extremely overcooked patty, a layer of that thin, bland bisque, a single shrimp, and a few sparse chunks of seafood all combined to create the most tasteless and unenjoyable burger I've had in quite some time. Truly disappointing. Do not recommend.

Outdoor Patio. Best thing about this restaurant. Nice for people watching.

Outdoor seating is great. Servers are friendly. Food selection is pretty basic, but decent. Pricing represent the wonderful view of Savannah riverfront, but doesnt keep pace with restaurant offerings.

Anna recommended the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. We will definitely come back to Broken Keel next time we are in Savannah.

The Olde Pink House was recommended by a good friend from IL. We are here from AZ for a few days,…read moreso my husband made a lunch reservation. Our server, Carmen was so pleasantly helpful when choosing our dishes and checking to see if we were happy or needed anything. We split a few appetizers. We had the Low Country She Crab Soup, Fried Green Tomato w/Smoked Bacon & Sweet Corn Cream, and the BLT salad. For drinks my husband had an Old Fashion and I had the Pink Lady. There was so much flavor in our dishes. The Pink Lady was sooo good, but it is a sweet drink (pink lemonade w/raspberry vodka). The dishes are not oversized, but just right. We wanted to try the dishes we read about online. We split our appetizers and ordered off the lunch main dishes. For the main lunch dish, my husband had the Shrimp and grits with collard greens. He does not like collard greens, but he did these!! He said if all collard greens tasted like this, he'd eat more of them. The cheese grits were great too. I had the crab cake, which is the size of a green tomato. The crab cake was in between two fried green tomatoes and topped with a green remoulade. It was served with fries, but you can change it for something else. It is a bit pricey at $24.95. I feel it should have been the price of the appetizers. We enjoyed our server,Carmen, the dishes, our drinks, and the ambience of the Olde Pink House. It's pretty pricy $$, but we enjoyed it.

It honestly reminds me of that 'Country Greek' hospitality where nobody leaves hungry. The food is just phenomenal. That Fried Chicken is easily some of the best in the South, perfectly crispy and seasoned. I couldn't get enough of the Sweet Potato Soufflé and the Creamed Corn, which was so fresh and rich. The Macaroni and Cheese was exactly how it should be, thick and flavorful with that perfect baked crust. Every bowl they brought out was delicious, from the Butter Beans to the Flaky Biscuits. If you look at the photos, the sheer amount of food is mind-blowing. It's like a massive family feast every single day. The restaurant is communal style and only opened from 11am-2pm. There are about 8 oval shaped tables total that can seat approximately 8-10 people per table. I believe they said they can seat 75 total. When you go inside, at each table they'll have sweet tea and plenty of dishes of food for you to choose from already on the table. The options included fried chicken, sweet cornbread, biscuits, green beans, black eyed peas, Mac n cheese, squash, okra, dirty rice, collard greens, potatoes au gratin, Lima beans, pulled pork, beef stew, mashed sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, potato salad, and maybe a few more options. You pass the dishes around the table and load your plate up until your heart is content. The best items to me were the fried chicken, sweet cornbread, and peach cobbler. The dirty rice was undercooked and there were hard pieces. Everything else was just sustenance. If you're a vegetarian, your options will be limited to sides only. You might be able to have squash, Mac n cheese, and maybe potato salad. Many of the items are cooked with meat or made with beef or chicken stock. It's $35 flat per person. Based on the 2 hour and 15 minute wait, I don't think the food was worth it. If the wait was 30 mins to 45 mins, maybe.
