I loved this ice cream place! First, when we walked in, it smelt super clean and the workers greeted us right away. There were tons of flavors to pick from. I got the lucky charm ice cream which tasted exactly like lucky charms with lucky charm marshmallows in it. It definitely tasted like they made it in house (which they advertise). As one might guess from the name, the flavors tend towards Asian, and I sampled a strawberry matcha, which was fine, and a miso caramel brownie, which remarkably managed to balance all three of those flavors perfectly in one scoop of ice cream. I was a little bit irritated that an option was not available to try more flavors in smaller amounts as there were quite a few that looked worthwhile. Their spoons are pretty tough, which is nice. What a fun and quirky ice cream spot!! With Leopold's and Savannah Candy Kitchen, there is no shortage of ice cream in town. What we were missing was good Gelato and new, fun flavors. I came in with a few friends on a week night in the fall. There was only a very short line, thankfully for us because we had to sample all of the flavors before deciding! The staff was very patient and offered recommendations. I ordered a scoop for there and a scoop to go. They held my to-go scoop in the freezer until we were ready to leave. Doki Doki is a fun ice creamery in Savannah. When you walk in you can not help but feel a sense of joy. It is located on Bull Street. They are next door to Collins Quarter. The closest parking would be on the street. But there are parking garages in the area. The inside of the ice creamery is full of bright colors that pull you in. You will see one long counter when you walk in. The colors inside are magenta, teal, yellow, orange, and white. There are large menus on the walls to make it easy for customers to read. There are a few magenta benches to sit on inside. They are not particularly comfortable unfortunately. I think they were meant more for the look then for customers to sit on for a little while. They also have a few tables and chairs outside. They offer soft serve, ice cream, and gelato. All of this is made in house. I enjoyed seeing more unique flavors in the case. They of course have all of the classics. But when I saw for example yuzu curd, black sesame, and chipotle brownie that made me happy. I always like to try new flavors. There were many other flavors that were fun too. Because they have ice cream and gelato. They have options for anyone with allergies. There was a sorbet in the case. Many ice creams and gelatos without nuts. If you have diary, gluten, nut, or other allergies ask they should be able to accommodate you. But check their website or call for confirmation of something specific. The service was ok. We were not greeted when we entered. When we went we were the only ones in line. Located off of Bull street across from the Wells Fargo and next to Collins Quarters in the downtown area. There is only meter parking available. It has a large selection of ice cream, sorbet and mochi. If you are gluten & dairy free there is only a limited selection to pick from. The gluten/dairy free sorbets are kept next to the other dairy and cookie covered flavors which means there is a larger chance of items being cross contaminated if you have an allergy. They have gelato and ice cream with the biggest variety of flavors. Not your typical flavors at Doki Doki. I had the s'mores flavor and it was very tasty. Leaned heavily on the marshmallow which I loved but if you are a chocolate fan it might not be for you. There is a tiramisu flavor that seemed very popular. Most of the flavor however are unexpected. There is a seaweed and Carmel flavor, a lavender mocha and golden milk. If you are willing to have a bolder flavor, you should definitely stop it. However, in a town known for its classic ice cream shop with traditional flavors this isn't s good replacement. What it offers is unique and stands on it own. There are cool cone flavors and mochi ice cream. Certainly worth giving a try. The location is cute and central. We went about two weeks ago with our homeschool group. The man working just seemed irritated and overwhelmed by our group. To the point where he stormed out. A lot of it was our first time so we just wanted to sample it and he made us and the children feel like we were just ruining in life in that moment. So when the ladies working stepped in they were a lot more present and helpful.
