The only reason I wouldn't recommend the place is because the waitresses were standing around, and nobody seem to see that I was sitting there to be served, well finally a waitress came to take my drink order, but another lady (turns out to be my server) brought my drinks to me. We ordered the Alamo omelette and the Billygoat omelette and the lemon pancakes and shrimp and grits. First the shrimp and grits with terrible grits where very running and you had to fish around to find the shrimps not the size shrimp that you expect in a shrimp and grits dish as you can see from the picture very runny and lacks flavor that Billygoat was mushroom is not enough mushrooms in the omelette very small again the grits on the side it was runny and most places when you ordered toasted give you two slices of toast, not one and last, but not least. Once I got back to my car realizes charge me a a supplemental fee. l call back to find out that it's because I use my credit card but there's nothing in the restaurant that states that there will be a fee to use your card that should've been known upfront but overall I wouldn't go because the food just didn't hit the spot for me. The food was pricey, but the portions didn't match the price and the quality of the food was lacking. Try it at your own risk. Did you decor was questionable not sure what the theme was but overall the paintings on the wall like it was someone's personal attempt at our but overall that was good. read more

Delicious simple breakfast food. I enjoyed the Goldi-Lox, a Lox bagel that you can put together yourself. The lox was some of the best I've had in Savannah! The others in our group got various skillets, and a breakfast quesadilla. All were simple but very tasty, flavorful and filling. Our waiter was great, paid attention to when we ran out of coffee, and made sure we enjoyed our meal without being too rushed. I found this restaurant on Yelp, and it was a short walk from my hotel. We dined here twice while in Savannah. The first day that we tried it, it was kind of slow. We were seated immediately, and had the pleasure of having Ian as our server ( I hope I spelled his name correctly). The service was timely, food was fresh and tasty and priced appropriately. My girls raved about the food. I was impressed that they served Turkey Bacon. This is huge for me because some establishments don't. I am allergic to pork, and I don't eat chicken, so it's nice to enjoy comfort food when I can. The food and service were so good, that we came back on our last day with my spouse. Saturday was a bit lively. Completely different than Thursday. Again, we were seated almost immediately. This time we had Kylie as our server. ( Again, I hope that I am spelling her name correctly). My husband and I enjoyed breakfast at J Christopher's one morning while visiting Savannah. We'd eaten at the one in Smyrna, GA when we lived there, and had forgotten how much we enjoyed their eclectic menu! I had The Traditional with scrambled eggs with cheddar, bacon, grits, and an English muffin. The eggs were perfectly cheesy and yummy. The grits were the stoneground type, and perfectly seasoned. Our table ordered the regular French toast, fruit plate, shrimp and grits as well as the banana pecan French toast. Everything thing was delicious! The banana pecan French toast is banana nut bread French toast topped with bananas, pecans and whipped cream. So yummy! The shrimp and grits are different but definitely a must have!!! We came with our dog and are happy that we chose this place because it's so dog friendly! They seated us outside and just about every table had a dog at it. Having been referred by a friend before our trip, and then having a local point it out on our quest for shrimp & grits, J Christopher's was the obvious breakfast choice this AM. Bare stone walls, high industrial ceilings, and glass panel garage style doors do very little to help foster conversation, but the waitress was very friendly, even if she did forget the honey and need to be reminded. My girl got the shrimp & grits. Served in a cast iron skillet this was Cajun spiced with andouille sausage, cheese, and a zesty brown sauce on top. I'm not a grits fan but the sausage and shrimp were both tender and tasty. Her verdict? 5 stars! She can't imagine what anyone would do differently. We're in the Deep South so I opted for tradition. Biscuits and gravy. This was a mistake. The biscuits were not the layered, fluffy, towers of pillowy goodness you'd expect, but rather some sort of pan fried dough, split, and then toasted. The gravy was flavorless white milk gravy served over sliced breakfast link sausages. The accompanying eggs were devoid of flavor even with 2 different types of cheese, and my potatoes were undercooked and cold. This seems very much like some restaurant managing group with no experience in Southern cooking bought and converted an old garage to be chic, then tried to "elevate" a traditional menu in hopes of gathering the tourist crowd. read more

Phenomenal breakfast in Savannah! I have been here several times now, but the photos are from my first visit. There is usually a very short wait for a table, and the service is always consistent. The staff is wonderful, and food comes to the table quickly. There is some sidewalk seating and is pet friendly! First time I ordered two fried eggs with breakfast potatoes, and the Blueberry Crunchcakes (blueberry pancakes with granola). It sounds simple, but the food is always cooked just right and is delicious! I do not believe they serve alcohol, so you can avoid the hussle and bustle of the mimosa brunch crowd by coming here. This establishment is a lovely spot which we found in our seeing the Savannah sites. We were walking from the Cathedral, so I cannot comment on parking but it appears various forms of other transportation were very close by. Located on a predominant corner near a large mixed use building, this restaurant offers both inside and outside seating. We literally sat on the sidewalk which actually was quite nice. Our waiter was pleasant and service was very good with the right touch of attentiveness. Our salads were just great and it was very obvious the food items were very fresh. Overall a really nice spot and you should stop in "while they are open" (7am-2pm), which perhaps was the only true negative we found. read more

While I forgot the exact name of the dish I ordered, it had blueberry crunchcakes (aka pancakes with granola as the "crunch"), chicken sausage, and eggs. Having moved away from Georgia a decade ago to Washington DC, I'll say the portions are Georgia-sized, aka HUGE by DC standards. We had one child, a mom who likes traditional breakfast and four adults who like the modern breakfast of crepes and omelettes etc. Every one of us was delighted. This establishment was well versed in many different areas and was consistently proving to be worth the hype that I received when asking for recommendations. Atmosphere: 4/5 This establishment did a fantastic job at making you feel welcome based on the decor and overall fell of the building. From being outside to sitting in a booth, the experience was there for all to encounter. The only downside I could find was the booth that I was sitting in was far from being comfortable and would prefer to sit about anywhere else. Service: 3/5 I scored this at a 3 because it was just a normal service you would expect about anywhere. The waitress was very nice and inviting, while making sure I had everything I needed from time to time like a normal server does. The day I went the establishment wasn't all too busy so there was more time for waitresses to stop and make sure you have everything you needed, which could be a different story if there are busy, but I can't speak to that. No complaints about the service, but one that isn't memorable by any means. Food: 4.5/5 This was by far the most memorable experience about the trip to the establishment, which is a good thing considering this is a restaurant. The menu had many different dishes that looked and sounds delicious, so it was a hard choice deciding what to order. I got the chicken and waffles and I have to say I was very satisfied with that decision. The blend of the fluffy waffle with the flakey and slightly crunchy chicken was near perfection. The dish came with some butter on top which wasn't my favorite, but by no means did it take anything away. The butter just really didn't add anything to the dish. Overall a great dish that was thoroughly enjoyed. Cost: 3.5/5 This establishment has decent prices when it comes to their menu in my opinion. It is hard to determine if a restaurant has fair prices at the beginning based on limited knowledge of the place, but for what you get it is a good deal. This rings true especially when you taste the food. I paid $15.99 for my dish which was a plate-full of waffle and chicken (see picture). My initial thought was the prices seemed fair,but once I ate I was satisfied enough to see it as a good deal. Would gladly pay that again for that dish. Overall: 3.75/5 This was a very great experience for me eating at this restaurant. Great food at a good price. If the price was slightly lower and the service was just better in general, this would be a much higher score. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who would ask.
