My sister and I ran into a couple on our sidewalk journey to this place who, assuming we were lost, told us to look for the Kroger and that this "Mate" place was considered by locals as a "cult." (Weird first impression of Savannahians.) The sun was out a little when we arrived so we sat outside and amongst the umbrellas. We got coffees, the crab benny, and avo smash toast. Best crab cake in the city, I can safely say, after four days eating them everywhere. Very cool servers also, who giggled saying " you wouldn't have found the Kroger." Came here on a weekday brunch. I had a chicken salad which was very tasty but pretty sweet. Our child had children's breakfast that he enjoyed. Ambience is wonderful since they have extensive seating straight in the park, so you can enjoy the park and eat outdoors. Indoor seating is very modern and wonderful as well. Walking through the farmers market on a perfectly sunny late Saturday morning during our long weekend in Savannah, we decided to jump into the long line of people waiting for a table at Collins Quarter. The line moved quickly and we were seated outside in about 15 minutes. Olivia was our server and she took good care of us. We each ordered a mimosa. I had the monarch and my wife had the blood orange. Both were tasty and generous pours. For food, I had the Korean Chicken and Waffles with a side of avocado and my wife had the Mushies on Toast with a side of crispy bacon. There are two Collin's Quarter locations and we decided to choose the one in the middle of beautiful Forsyth Park. We went on a Monday so not too much of a crowd and we got seated right away. We got seated inside but realized they did have fans outside so it would have been just as enjoyable. Our server was great and attentive. We started with coffee. I got the Spiced Lavender Mocha which was Espresso, Hollander Chocolate, Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, and Lavender. I enjoyed it but didn't get much of the mocha flavor. I was in between so many options and based of the recommendation went with the Korean Chicken and Waffle and it hit the spot. It had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The waffle was a Belgian waffle so it didn't get soggy. The only note I have is I wish the chicken was slightly thicker it was a pretty thin slice and I think it could be cooked better if it was. I was excited to see an innovative twist on eggs Benedict with the Bulgogi Benedict with Shaved Bulgogi Ribeye, Toasted Everything Bagel, Kimchi, Sunny Egg, Kimchi Hollandaise and Korean Cucumber Salad. We went to Collins Quarter at Forsyth for the 2nd day of our food crawl. First appearance - the place is very picturesque, especially the outside. We ordered the chicken and waffles; $18, matcha; $7, and the Notorious F.I.G. (gin and juice); $16. The chicken and waffles tasted good, but terrible portion. Especially for brunch, which is usually a heavy meal. 1 medium chicken breast, and a waffle smaller than an Eggo waffle. Waffle was a little dry, chicken was juicy though, so it helped. Fruits are scattered on the plate so that's nice, but the syrup was almost unnoticeable until you smeared your fork onto the plate. This should be a starter. 6/10 The matcha was alright. I'm not a matcha expert - but coming from Orlando, this matcha tastes cheap. My girlfriend also agrees with this. 5/10 The Notorious F.I.G. was delicious. All 3 of us ordered the shrimp and grits, which presentation was awesome but I felt it could have used a bit more punch in the seasoning. We happened to pick a slower day according to our waiter, so even though the tables were all full the noise level was very chill cafe in feeling. Overall I think this is a great spot for a casual lunch, especially if it's a nice day and you have a dog - HUGE outdoor covered patio. Got a table pretty quick. This place does fill up pretty quickly but I think the turnover seems pretty fast. The service was friendly and they even opened up more umbrellas for us when they saw we were directly in the sun. The food was good! Unfortunately there was a piece of hair found in our food but they changed it out pretty quickly for us. The fries were good and crispy. And the chicken burger I got was saucy. Collin's Quarter at Forsyth is the ideal city park eatery/cafe located in Savannah's beautiful Forsyth Park. Rave reviews from fellow Yelpers led me here, and I wasn't disappointed. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating, with the patio offering wonderful views of trees within the park. They have a decent number of baked goods, including a very enticing looking chocolate croissant, which I resisted getting as it'd ruin lunch for me. I started off with a spiced lavender mocha (3.5/5) from their caffeinated drinks menu. While the drink was outside the realm of what I usually order and was decent, the lavender and odd spice profile just wasn't my thing for a mocha drink. For meals, we went with a spicy chicken sandwich and chicken & waffles (both 4/5). The chicken was tender and cooked to perfection, but the breading didn't have too much of a flavor profile. The waffles were very unique in taste and somewhat crunchy in texture (I think sugar made it crunchy)). The fries were crispy and tasty. Service (5/5) from Sara was quick, cordial, and friendly. They do add on a tacky 2% surcharge to cover the "fluctuating costs of goods and services." While it's not much and the charge is disclosed on the bottom of their menu, it's not something I encountered at any of the other restaurants I visited over the course of several days in Savannah, but it's probably something they can get away with as added business revenue due to their popularity. While I probably wouldn't venture out of my way to eat at Collins Quarter, I would recommend it as a reliable and unique option for food or coffee in the Forsyth Park area. read more

So.... Saturday morning about 9:30... We walk up and there's a short line... Maybe about 10 people. I thought for sure we would have to wait. Nope! If you are lucky enough to sit in Eli's section... You are in for a treat. He made my entire weekend! What a beautiful person! He has a way with words that just touch the soul. The food is very tasty too. One of the best meals we had all weekend. I loved my Quinoa Harvest bowl with an added poached egg. Since my bloody had bacon and shrimp.... I figured I had plenty of protein there and needed to balance it with some veg. Hahahaha! The OMG bloody is tasty and hit the spot! Just the right amount of pepper, heat to tomato-y-ness. Went to Collins Quarter at Forsyth on a Tuesday afternoon. I would probably give it a 3.5/5. The best part about this restaurant is the ambience and the patio area as it looks over Forsyth park in Savannah, very pretty and scenic, much better than a parking lot patio. It was easy to get a table and the service was great. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, the Egg and Bacon Brioche, and a Hibiscus Lime Cooler Iced Tea. The food was good! But you are definitely paying for the ambience and the location. They have a variety of other drinks and coffees that you can order as well. The Egg and Bacon Brioche was tasty and the hash browns were yummy as well. One thing that was unpleasant and not really the restaurant's fault was there was a lot of flies outside. Joshua was so sweet! He had a great personality and made great suggestions. We went to brunch for my friends birthday. The music was a perfect volume, there were a lot of people so you could hear them and the music didn't feel overwhelming. I had the Bloody Mary (local vodka with house mix). It was delicious and garnished with an olive and pickled okra. My friend got the espresso martini, which was perfectly sweet and had a beautiful foam on top. Only downside was that the coke was from a can. The fries were overcooked, but Joshua got replacement ones right away. The hashbrows come 2 in an order and were great. They were the perfectly crisp rectangles. I got the quinoa bowl with the squash, cranberries, and feta. It was overwhelmingly large. I liked it more with my hashbrowns than with the salad. I have been eating at Collins quarter for over ten years now and I swear, every time we go, it gets worse. We ordered the Dubai Chocolate French Toast solely because of the many gorgeous pictures on their website and this is what we got. There was no chocolate anywhere. I'm not sure what flavor they were going for in the creme but it was not pistachio. Quite disappointing for the 13 year old that ordered it, and honestly the rest of the table that shared it, as it was just normal French toast with some bright green butter on top. This is the tourist-trap restaurant smack in the middle of Forsyth Park and, look...I am susceptible to some of these things sometimes too. As a single diner at a slightly off-peak time on a weekday, I was seated immediately and had my choice of spots. I ordered a fancy lavender latte and a fairly basic breakfast/brunch plate. It all came out as if the time-space continuum was a farce and time was a construct! Amazing! It tasted great, I was pleased and sated and didn't feel rushed to get out of there. I was able to read my book a bit while finishing my coffee before heading out. The server was also lovely and not overly present and gave me a great recommendation when I asked if there were any rooftop bars that were open during the afternoon.
