My husband and I were in Savannah for a holiday and we walked over from our hotel to eat here every morning before we started our day. It was a very nice ritual to a fun trip! The cafe is lovely; cozy with small tables scattered about. They have outdoor seating, too. I got scrambled eggs, gluten free bread, grits and a soy latte. I was very happy to see they had gluten free bread! My husband got a cappuccino, scrabbled eggs with cheese, toast and bacon. He said it was all very good. The eggs are moist and delicious, very similar to the eggs we had in Paris. They have a few gifts for sale and I bought two of their china cups with baby succulent plants to take home. It's a nice reminder of a happy memory. On our last day, several employees said hello and remarked that we had been in every day. It was a kind send off to a great trip! I need to update this because the owner keeps responding to my review, assuming it's about my dog, and I want to be direct: it is not, and she's wrong to keep saying so. My experience with her had nothing to do with her rules about dogs. It was about her attitude and the way she delivered a message, condescending and rude, in a tone that talked down to me as a customer, not an explanation, just contempt. That's the problem I have with her: the way she speaks to people, in this abrasive, angry, mean tone. If you're running a business and taking money from people, learn to deliver whatever you have to say in a friendly, kind way, not a condescending, dismissive, disgusting one. That is what this review has always been about: her behavior, not a dog. If it were about a dog, I would have said so. Having rules is fine, every business is entitled to them. What isn't fine is delivering any message with contempt instead of basic courtesy. There's a difference between enforcing a policy and being rude while doing it, and she consistently chooses the latter. I've also noticed her own staff don't follow her stated policies when she's not around, dogs sitting at tables inside, that kind of thing, which tells me something about how her own employees feel about working under her. And I'm not the only one who's had this kind of experience. I've talked to other people locally in Savannah who described the same condescending treatment from her. The latte is good. The staff, aside from her, are friendly. But an owner who can't speak to paying customers without an attitude problem is the reason I won't be back. Take accountability for how you talk to people, not for a dog that was never the issue. read more

Very small and cute cafe that we just happened upon when our first choice for breakfast was closed. And I am glad we did! Not just for the food, but also the entertainment of the absolutely ridiculous people in line with us. Because the cafe is so small, they have a rule (and it is posted on ever table) that you cannot sit before you have ordered and have a table number. We were second in line and there were two women behind us, clearly panicking that they might not be able to sit (note, this was a lovely spring morning and there are also tables outside). One of the women runs over and sits at a table in the corner and is immediately told by an employee she has to get up. She runs back to the line where she and her friend complain bitterly about this for a few minutes before they leave. They were next to order! And there were three tables open at this point! Anyway it was a good laugh to start my day. I ordered the Quiche of the day, which was spinach, artichoke and feta, along with a side of roasted potato. The quiche was good, but the potatoes were where it was at! They were a special and I wavered about ordering them but I am glad I did, they were great, if they are offered again I highly recommend getting them. If you need a breakfast place, try Cafe M, just remember to stay in line and not poach a table before you order! read more

Overall, it was alright. Waited over 30mins for 2 simple breakfast sandwiches but was to be anticipated given the summer rush. We were the only ones in line to order so I expected it to be quicker or someone from the staff to mention when they walked by several times "foods coming" but they didn't. I'm rarely disappointed with a good French cafe, but this trip comes with a warning for future patrons. If you care to maintain your ability to taste for the rest of the day, do not order an Americano from this establishment. I used to scoff about the written warnings plastered on McDonalds coffee cups, thinking, "Lord, how hot was the coffee? It can't be that bad..." I humbly request forgiveness for my naivety. This coffee was brewed fresh from the pits of fiery hell and served in a mug whose handle provided a mere .75 inches of protection from the lava-like caffeine within. My friend ordered a baguette to soak up the poor choices of her drinking the night before and it was served aptly toasted to an absolute crisp. I joked that she had to soak it in butter to save the roof of her mouth, which would have been funny if I hadn't chosen that moment to take my first sip of coffee at the punchline. Two days later and I can still feel that moment on the tip of my poor tongue. Be warned. Order cautiously. read more

This small cafe was across the hotel stayed at. Food had flavor and even though was busy the food was on point with flavor and price. The small shop does get packed pretty quick. This was a cute little cafe right next to the hotel I was staying in Savannah. I got an iced coffee with heavy cream and sf vanilla syrup. The cafe looks very dainty and from old times. The staff was nice, very quick and attentive but busy. I haven't tried the food yet but it seems like it's always busy so try to get here early for a table. We had an interesting experience at Cafe M. They are supposed to open at 8 but it seemed like somebody was late to work and one girl was scrambling to set up all the tables outside and get the doors open finally around 8:15. We ordered 2 breakfast croissants and iced coffee to take for a picnic down by the riverfront. It took 25-30 minutes for our food to come out. They were obviously behind missing one person. Once we got our sandwiches, we went down to the water but were immediately swarmed by little black bugs that bite. So we scarfed down our sandwiches and went on our way. The croissants were really tasty and fresh. I enjoyed my ham egg and cheese croissant and my husband got a bacon, egg and brie one. Had a very long wait - granted it was a Sunday morning but the food and drink line are the same so you can end up waiting a long time even for a to go coffee. After a long wait a $8 iced coffee became soup the second we walked out of the cafe. They poured the espresso for the latte over ice and then didn't add more ice. So it was expensive and not even iced coffee. Disappointed because there are so many good reviews but with the amount of coffee shops to try in the area I won't come back for my next visit. read more

Really enjoyed this quaint cafe that has found a little nook of peace among the downtown area. It's located right off the love lock bridge on Bay Street, so you have to find street parking. My friend and I went and ordered a couple of hot beverages and breakfast here. She got a breakfast sandwich, which came with a small mixed green salad. I ordered the veggie quiche that also came with a salad. The quiche was really really good. I also ordered a London fog with oat milk and it was delicious. Cafe M is located right on River St in Savannah and is a true cafe. Small, intimate and cozy. It was right next to our hotel but we would have travelled if needed. It was excellent. The staff was courteous and prompt. I chose the buttered croissant with scrambled eggs, sausage and cheddar. The croissant was the foundation for what was the best breakfast sandwich I have had. Light, flaky, buttery. Amazing. The eggs were rich and fluffy and the sausage was the perfect accent. You can choose a baguette or toast for your sandwich but the croissant was the star here. This was an excellent stop for breakfast on our last morning in Savannah. I loved my Chai, which was served with a hefty amount of cinnamon on top. Whenever I have an early morning downtown, I love coming here. This place is so cute and is in such a nice location for a weekend coffee shop date with my pup :). There's always a seasonal latte that absolutely slaps, and I recently tried the pumpkin mocha latte there. Literally was exactly what I want in a fall theme drink! I've never eaten food inside, but I like to sit outside and people watch with the pup. There is limited seating and it's pretty small on the inside. Service is absolutely amazing, and the treats are so good. We tried the chocolate and raspberry croissants, both very good! Can't wait to try brunch here! read more

Very cute french cafe. Nice little breakfast of matcha and a croissant with peanut butter. Croissants were flaky and fresh. However, on the morning I visited, there were two people working, and it took well over 20 minutes for us to get our croissants and reheat a quiche, plus beverages and they weren't even busy (I think there were 2 or 3 guests ahead of me). I don't know if Cafe M was short-staffed this day, but it was the deciding factor not to visit again because of how long we waited. read more

My first time at Café M and it was so good I had to come back a second time and a third time to take a to go coffee and pastry for the trip back home to Canton Ga. What an absolutely adorable Cafe. When you walk in 2 things hit you right away. 1. The delicious aroma of fresh coffee and freshly baked pasties 2. The charming motif of an authentic Parisian Cafe. They serve all the coffee favorites, latte, cappuccino, Macchiato, americano and hot chocolate. Along with hot or cold teas. I went with the Americano Carmel Macchiato for the beverage and a fabulously delicious scrambled egg with Brie and Prosciutto on a French Baguette. A perfectly delightful experience. Next time I'll be sure to give their lunch menu a try. Filled with so many delicious sounding items all with a French flare. Also sidewalk tables and chairs that's pet friendly. I used to really love this place. I've been back several times since my initial review and have recommended it to at least 20 vacationing friends. Came today and... I still love the Parisian atmosphere. But, I went to see my plentiful food picture (which I've shown too many people) and it was gone. I realized WHY, when my sandwich came with simply a sliver of orange slice. I enjoyed my meal, but not 1 of the 4 people behind the counter smiled or even made eye contact for that matter.
