Such a great little cafe! I was visiting Savannah and Mirabelle was close to my hotel. I stopped by for breakfast which was delicious! The waffles were fresh and flavorful. This small cafe had some charm. It also had a lot of sweets. Among the niche brand chocolates they had on display were some interesting holiday chocolates on sale, so I made an unplanned purchase. The peach cobbler waffle I came for was more peaches than waffle, not that this is the worst thing in the world. The waffle itself was thick and had delectably pearled sugar, while the peaches and streusel were also quite sweet. They warned me that my matcha would be unsweetened, which I said was fine. I needed some bitterness to balance things out. It's a counter service kind of place, and I was a bit miffed that they had all disposable utensils and cups. This is cute shop across from the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist. Greeted by a beautiful blue door with gorgeous handles, we stepped in and veered to the right for ordering. Immediately noticed just how small this cafe was with the seating on the left and some two-seater tables outside. I ordered the Lemon Waffle (it was SO GOOD, which is why this is really 4.5 stars). While the price is pretty high for the size of the waffle, the taste made it worth it. I do recommend ordering sandwich if you're feeling a bit hungrier. I ended up going back for the egg panini (without bacon), and it's a NICE size. We stopped for breakfast around 9:30 on Labor Day. The place was packed but by the time our food was ready we were able to score one of the tables. Note all the seating is outside since most people seemed to use the inside room to wait for their coffee orders. We got the Unicorn Mane and the Cafe Miel both of which were delicious. I loved the added touch of the rose petals on the Unicorn Mane and the fact that the plastic cup and straw were compostable. Good job, Mirabelle! We also ordered the ricotta toast waffle with their raspberry cardamom jam and the peach cobbler waffle. The ricotta was so creamy and delicious I forgot it was ricotta and thought it was whipped cream. Despite the jam, it was not overly sweet. The peach cobbler waffle was sweeter and tasted good as well. Truthfully, the ricotta waffle is the one that will have me trying to convince my hubby we should return to Savannah. I was sad to learn after researching gluten free options in the area for breakfast. That this location no longer offers a gluten free waffle which states as much in their website, google reviews and even here on Yelp. And it would have been nice to know before I drove to town to try out the gluten free waffles that had been bragged about on their many reviewed sites. I strongly feel they should update their website to reflect what they do offer. It was cute and located across from the cathedral. If you plan to visit on a Sunday please be mindful of the church hours, and that there is no parking within two block radius.
