Tried this bakery/cafe for lunch on our way back into town since it was highly recommended. There were so many delicious sounding sandwiches, but I ended up trying Jessica's Chicken Salad sandwich. This quite possibly was one of the best chicken salads I've ever had. The tanginess of the sour dough bread paired beautifully with the pesto chicken salad! The description mentioned that there were jalapeños, which I was excited about having a bit of heat mixed in, but there didn't seem to be any in mine. However, I honestly don't think it needed it, which is rare for me since I'm always happy to add a spice element to my food. I genuinely would like to add to the existing stellar reviews for this restaurant, but sadly this qualified as our least favorite meal on our trip. To their credit, they made accommodations to a mushroom sensitivity. But those efforts fell flat. The rice bed under my fish was only partially cooked and consistently crunchy. This went from disappointing to worse, with my wife's steak remarkably over-cooked. Our waitress did what she could to make things better. Her efforts were also restricted, since the manager who offered the menu accommodations left early. On a positive note, our baguette was brilliantly made. So much so that we ordered two more to bring home. My sense is that their morning bakery items are likely exceptional. I also sense that their new menu for the Valentines weekend wasn't as fully vetted. We would be willing to try this restaurant on additional trips to Savannah. But we would do what we could to stick with the established menu. read more

Flora & Fauna is the cutest little bakery & cafe in Savannah. We were just strolling around the Starland District and happened to stumble upon F&F and turns out I had this spot in my bookmarks list. We decided to stop in for a cool-down sesh and a quick mid-afternoon treat. The pastry case was loaded with delicious options including croissants, biscuits, monkey bread, coffee cakes, bread pudding, and more. I wanted to try their Maple Chai Cruller (maple syrup glazed French donut dusted with chai spice) and the iced blueberry matcha. Wow, this was an incredible donut! If I had not just eaten lunch, I would have gotten 6 more. The drink was more on the earthy/grassy side than blueberry, but I still found it to be refreshing and enjoyable. They also have a daytime food menu offering breakfast & sandwiches, as well as a Supper Club menu featuring a 3-course blind chef's tasting and many other dishes that sound delicious. I went here for lunch on a Wednesday and the place was decently crowded. I ordered a sandwich to go and it took about 15 minutes to be ready. The Hot Brown sandwich was delicious but different than I expected. It's an open face sandwich with lots of cheese sauce on it, not a lot of turkey, but lots of bacon. I was very happy with it and would get it again. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the chai latte. It did not have a strong chai flavor unfortunately so I would not recommend getting that here. read more

Absolutely Fantastic. Great relaxed vibe with slightly funky music, you go here for the flaky layered BUTTERY biscuits and grits with this herbaceous sausage on it that is crazy good. The staff are so helpful and smiling/genuinely welcoming. The pimento cheese with tomato biscuit is also a perfect start to the day. My wife, daughter, and myself went to Flora and Fauna for dinner. We opted to try the blind chef's tasting menu, so we could sample several dishes. The courses were nothing short of fantastic. My wife is gluten free and the server took note of that, made sure to guide through each dish. Our service started with their in house baked bread with a delicious spread. My daughter and I were visiting Savannah and this restaurant was on our list. We made a reservation via Resy. We arrived and were seated immediately. There seemed to be some confusion once we were seated and we were immediately asked to move to another table. We thought it was weird but we went along. We chose the experience which was $55/person, 3 courses, chef's choice. The first course came immediately, the second course not so much...and there was no follow up to provide a status...nothing. We were forgotten for about 20-30 minutes. I finally asked for a status and seconds later the second course appeared. We were later served dessert, which was also decent. Is the food good? Yes Is the service great? Not so much Did I feel comfortable in that space? No The kicker is we were moved to the back of the restaurant and for the duration of our meal no one occupied the original table. It was definitely an odd experience and I don't want to make assumptions but I will never return to this restaurant. read more

This place is in the outskirts of DT Savannah. Super cute and lots of natural lighting. We came for lunch and I had my eyes set on the Smoked BLT because ya girl loves milk bread. The girls at the counter were friendly and answered any questions we had and made a killer cortado. We started off with a couple baked goods. Lemon glazed croissant. It had this amazing texture of crispy outer meets moist and soft inner. I'm not a huge lemon pasty person but this was delightful. Then we had this thick layered biscuit that they make in house as well. Buttery and crispy goodness that was accompanied by some jam and butter. My friend got the gazpacho which I found to be very flavorful and refreshing. I was eager to try my BLT and it was what I expected. If you haven't had milk bread before you are truly missing out. It's this fluffy soft but also crispy toasted goodness and when you have that with everything else, it was delicious! I think this is just a wonderful place for lunch! Came in for brunch on 06/15/2025 and left pleasantly surprise. Ordering is pretty easy, you order at the counter and find a spot to sit afterwards. While it was busy, we were able to find a spot relatively easily. The food was absolutely delicious. I've been drooling over Flora and Fauna's instagram since they opened. I finally had the opportunity to stop by for lunch and it didn't disappoint one bit! The decor is very cute -- modern but quaint. The perfect spot for a date or dinner with the girls. Everything in the bakery case looked super yummy! This is a new place in the Back in the Day Bakery on 40th and Bull St. I ordered a Gazpacho that had a lot of flavor although the portion size was a little small. The seasoning was well balanced. We also had a Chicken salad sandwich that was good but had a lot of pepper. A lot of places like Coffee Deli have 2-3 different Chicken Salad offerings. The set up was the same as Back in the Day with a line for ordering and payment and then your order is called out. I was carrying 4 dishes at once and they offered to help but being a former waiter I told her I could handle it. Haha. The bakery and kitchen is still visible from the seating area and provides an authentic touch. The floor is a worn industrial concrete that adds to the charm. The coffee drinks are basic but good. We both had a Cappuccino that was well crafted. I didn't see any flavors and none were on the menu. The desserts looked great but watching my sugar, I decided to pass. My wife ordered a monkey bread that looked great but was gone before I had a chance to ask for a bite. I think maybe next time I will just order coffee and a pastry. The croissants were huge. For food I got the French toast with a side of bacon. The French toast was delicious! It was more like a bread pudding and had this lemon sauce on it with crunchiness from the granola and pumpkin seeds on top. The bacon was crispy and thick, just how I like it. I was super impressed with the cardamom latte. It was perfect and they make the syrup in house! They have a full bakery where everything is made and the vibes are great here. Been meaning to try this cute little bakery out. All their ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, they even cure their ham in house. The pomme frites were amazing, as was the gravy. The biscuits weren't the most amazing flaky ones we've had, but paired well with the gravy. The pain au chocolat was a bit greasy, and the morning bun wasn't warmed up all the way, but the flavors were pretty good. This was our group's favorite meal during a long weekend trip to SAV. It's a surprising choice for a prix fixe meal as it transforms from European Cafe vibes during the day to intimate supper club at night. We started with cocktails, and then shared several plates including the squash salad, pasta, and redfish meunière. Our server was very personable, was a master of the menu, and made excellent recommendations for us. Reservations are a must. It's not walkable from the North historic area of Savannah but an easy Uber ride away.
