Most Savannah restaurants are usually pretty busy for breakfast, but this restaurant in Garden City allows me to order and enjoy a quick and delicious breakfast without the wait. Less than a five-minute drive from downtown Savannah, Sunny Side Up provides delicious huge omelets and pancakes, as well as generous breakfast portions. The service is always friendly, quick, and professional. The menu is quite expansive and has something for everyone. We visit Sunny Side Up quite often when we are in Savannah. The staff is always! very friendly and we never had a bad experience. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but don't be fooled. We came here after attending morning mass and beat the Sunday rush that started to trickle in around 11am and 12noon. We walked in and it was seat yourself. Definitely a diner, so don't expect anything too fancy. The food was really good! I got a turkey blt club with tots, and a side of grilled veggies to. The grilled veggie would have been better without the too and broccoli, onions and peppers would be much better. The chicken tenders were so good! So yummy for the chicken and waffles. Idk what breaking they use, but it's very unique to this establishment. So good! The turkey club with bacon was light and fresh. I wish I got a side of fruit on the side- but the tots were SO good! The portions here are really big. So I had a bunch to take home. My boyfriend finished the chicken and waffles though, that was a great size. I get there, I see a sign that states "Starting January 1st, 2025 There will be a 10% gratuity on ALL take-out orders" 1st of all....T.I.P.S. is an Acronym To Insure Proficient Service....(You DO NOT get to DEFRAUD me simply because your lazy azz owner (Looking at you John Trahn) does not pay his people enough.... By this logic, I can freely post a sign on a parking lot saying,....If you choose to park here, I reserve the right to break into your car...silly but, completely accurate view of his Illogic. 2nd, of the 10 people working there...only 2 spoke English (Get ready Mr. Trahn....ICE is gonna be getting a LOTTA calls about your place)... When I attempted to explain to the girl that you CANNOT do that...as those signs ARE NOT Reflected on either your website, OR your online Menus...You do NOT get to play a Bait and Switch game and expect us to deal with it.... Exactly what I was looking for this morning after a night of drinking downtown! In what looks to be an old Subway building, this place has a wide selection of breakfast and lunch items at unbeatable prices. An egg sandwich with cheese and meat is under $5. A side of grits is under $4. Our waitress was very sweet and super on top of it. She handled our table of six swiftly and was very attentive. We like this place so much that we returned the next morning as well. The price is unbeatable for the amount and quality of the food. Eat here. Do the thing. So sad about this restaurant This used to be our go to place, especially after medical appointments at the hospitals. Many friends from Gulfstream also frequented this location. The past two visits were very disappointing. The food is always great, as are the cooks. The issue is the wait staff doesn't care and will take up to ten minutes before serving you. Once food is cooked, they leave it on the counter and the cooks have to repeatedly call the waitresses to pick up their orders. The waitresses stay hidden by the soda machines playing on their phones and don't pay any attention to the customers. I'm sure the owners have noticed the drop in revenue from customers avoiding this place. The Omlette Cafe has benefited though. read more

The cakes were perfect, not dry at all and had a very nice flavor that paired well with the rest of breakfast. Their eggs and grits are out of this world, still trying to figure out how to make them taste like theirs at home :) The only reason I did not give them a 5 star is because last time I went and ordered take out breakfast, they did not put enough cheese on my grits or eggs... very lacking and I went home and added it myself. With its colorful exterior colors and inviting home style feel upon entry, the food measured up to the feelings evoked. This restaurant remind me of my country upbringing. From the fried catfish to the creamy grits, no one left dissatisfied. The only issue for our group were the pancakes which were flat and doughy, but the flavor was there. The Sunny Side Up serves by far, the best breakfast I've found in Savannah. It's nothing fancy, but their hospitality has been warm and friendly every time I've walked in. The food is really great too - their portions are huge, but so delicious! Close your eyes and point somewhere on the omelet section of the menu. You won't be disappointed. Also, be sure to get the grits - buttery goodness. It won't break the bank either. I can't recall anything on the menu over $12, but most items were under $7. Can't wait to visit again! read more
