Don't- overpriced elementary cafeteria food. Service was good and the overall appearance was fine but other than a burger all the food- mahi tacos, chicken sliders and kids spaghetti not great and the mash potatoes were essentially a purred onion. Maybe its claim is its rooftop bar but pass it and go a few blocks up to any small locals place and get twice the quality for half the price. After two days of really great food everywhere else in Savannah this was very disappointing. read more

9/20/2025 - Party of 4. No reservations. We were told about 20 minutes. We walked upstairs to their rooftop bar and patio. Our waiter was excellent, very friendly and polite. We had 3 sangrias, and a rosemary sweet tea. We received a text that our table was ready so we cashed out upstairs . We sat and looked over the food menu. Our server, Juliana came out and greeted us. We told her we needed a few minutes to look over the menu. She was gone for quite sometime. After she came back, I ordered chicken and waffles and my friend ordered a quiche. We did not see our server for the longest time, I got up and ordered two sangrias from the bartender. She told me "I don't like taking money from the servers, I'll find out who the server is and I'll send them over" which I thought was odd. I wasn't going to open a separate check. I was just having her make the drinks for us and putting them under our tab. Our food arrived, The waffle had no taste and was overcooked. The chicken tenders were ok. They gave us a small container of syrup. The plate was so plain. I had a taste of the quiche and it just tasted store bought, very bland. The server finally shows up and tells us the sangrias are coming. We finished our meal. The drinks were brought by someone else. We told her we were done with our meal and we did not want them. Our check was brought by someone else. Basically our table was forgotten. Absolutely the worst brunch. Both food and service. DO NOT RECOMMEND. It is not worth the hype at all!!!! read more

We stopped here while shopping and regret it. We were so hopeful that it would be good since it had a cute rooftop. However, were so disappointed. The place is dirty. There is mold on the bathroom ceiling, the floors had food all over them, the walls are super scuffed up, and the floors were sticky. The food... well, the guacamole was completely brown, the salsa looked like it had sat out for days, and the pineapple on our drinks had mold on it. Therefore, we didn't end up eating the chips and salsa or the drinks. Therefore chicken and fries were decent and the waitress was kind. However, we would not recommend going here. read more

Found the Grove while exploring Savannah on a Monday before work meetings. We found the rooftop and were the only customers which made the experience more pleasant. We initially sat out on the patio but it started to rain so we moved inside. Drinks and food was all good, and our server/bartender was friendly and gave us some tips on places we could visit during our trip. I've been to The Grove in Savannah many times and usually have a great experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. We went to the rooftop on Sunday when it wasn't busy. It took about 20 minutes for our server to greet us, which we didn't mind. However, his attitude immediately stood out. He was dismissive, rude in tone, and REPEATEDLY walked away mid-sentence while we were speaking. After checking our IDs, his demeanor noticeably shifted. We are of legal drinking age, but it felt like we were treated differently because we were younger. As someone who is ServSafe Manager certified and has worked in the service industry for years, I know how important guest interaction and basic courtesy are. This was not handled appropriately at all. He carried himself as if he were running the place, which felt very off-putting given how we were being treated. He was the oldest server working on the rooftop, so it was very clear who he was. After checking our IDS, His demeanor made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, which is not something we've ever experienced here before. We've always enjoyed coming to The Grove, so this was surprising and disappointing. Rooftop hoppin!! We came to check out the view and grab a few cocktails as we enjoyed Savannah during a recent trip. Kept it simple with a Don Julio Reposado and a Ketel One lime and tonic to refresh us. Alejandro at the bar was friendly and great and the vibe on the actual rooftop was chill. Convinced us to also try the summer Capri pouches which were refreshing and gave a great buzz. We didn't do food, but when you enter from the main entrance, lots of people were grabbing lunch. Hard pressed to find a brunch experience worse than this one. The ONLY positive was the fabulous and friendly hostess that greeted us downstairs. After being seated we waited at least 5 minutes to be greeted. We put in our whole order at once bc we'd had plenty of time to review the menu. We waited 20 minutes for our food at which point we asked the food runner for silverware (um, to eat!) which he responded, your server will bring that for you. Guess there's no such thing as teamwork. Since our server was nowhere to be found, and had never even brought us the drinks we'd ordered, I got up myself and asked for silverware. The hostess and manager both heard me say we had our food but no drinks or silverware. I sat back down and close to 5 minutes later my friend got up to get the silverware to which the hostess rudely said, it's coming! I worked in restaurants for almost a decade and really can't think of something going more wrong than hungry people watching their food get cold with no way to eat it. Enter our server with one drink but not both. By the time Mt drink came I was almost done eating. Poor guy didn't even know better than to bring my drink immediately vs stopping to talk with another table with my drink in hand. I obviously didn't need an $8 drink by the time my food was almost gone. The drink had ice yet managed to taste warm. Wild. As far as the food, my friends breakfast was just ok. My medium burger (mind you I specifically asked how their medium temp was) came out very well done. My salad with no tomatoes or onions was covered in both. The bathrooms had a broken soap dispenser and paper towels sitting on the counter. I normally couldn't care less about this, but might as well add that detail at this point as women were commenting on it.. Ultimately we paid the bill obviously and tipped without saying anything about the food or drinks bc that's obviously all the restaurant cared about today. For the manager to not bring the silverware himself and apologize for the wait on everything, ask if everything came out well eight the food was appalling to me. Sometimes servers get behind, (mind you they were steady not slammed) sometimes the kitchen makes mistakes, but for the manager to know and not acknowledge it is unacceptable. read more

My wife and I have been coming to Savannah for years and one of our (have to stops) was always a stop at The Grove. The amazingly friendly staff, the drinks and the food were always the best, between the specialty drinks, the cowboy caviar and the Cajun Angels you couldn't go wrong! Change is inevitable, we all know this, but when you no longer have staff that is friendly (you feel like you are inconveniencing them) or the food that brought you in for years is either no longer on the menu or they ran out, really it's only 5:45pm? Don't get me wrong, The Grove was an experience, but there just isn't anything there that makes it any different than your local bar anymore. Unfortunately, this has been one of my worst restaurant experiences of all time :( I was so looking forward to brunch at the Grove after many recommendations, but it was truly disappointing. We were sat by the hostess and seemingly never assigned a server so we sat at our table for 30 minutes until the hostess provided waters and hurriedly took our drink and food orders. The restaurant bar was pretty full, but most of the tables were empty. Our food came out and we asked for an extra plate. It never arrived and as we had never been assigned a server... there was no one that would could voice this concern to. We were never checked in on after receiving our food until it came time to pay. We waited close to thirty minutes until anyone came to help us check out. Overall, if you were thinking to visit the grove I would heavily advise against it. The food was good but the service was so unfortunate that I could not imagine any quality would make up for it. read more

When we were referred to this "restaurant", we thought it was going to a bit more upscale. We were very wrong. This is more of a bar that serves food rather than a restaurant with a bar. The main floor was boring, the food was even more boring, and the options were minimal. We had Nashville Hot Chicken, and being from Nashville, I think the chef should come to Nashville to see how it is supposed to taste and be served. My wife had the shrimp burger, with zero flavor other than the lettuce and tomato, no spice, no flavor. Hello we went here last night : When you go to the roof top the have limited menu than the restaurant down below , you have to scan it through your camera to get the menu , if you scan through your app, you won't get the new updated menu. We came here multiple times during our stay in Savannah and really enjoyed it! There were a lot of great drink options, and the food here is just as good! The service was great, and our waiter both times was so attentive and on top of things! I would highly recommend making a reservation if you want to sit at their roof top portion, but if you just want a fun drink at the bar, they do have a bar section on the first floor that you can walk in at anytime. My wife and I visited a new spot while on our monthly sabbatical to Savannah. We tried the Cajun Angels (bacon wrapped shrimp). It came out heavily charred. Taste was ok. The wife didn't like it much. She had the grilled salmon. Had to send it back to be warmed. I had the Cajun pasta. It was tasty, but some bread/toast/roll would've set it off. Dajuan was great and had great customer service skills. Ambience was great as well. Maybe we will give them another try. read more

The drinks did not disappoint, and the aesthetic and vibe of the rooftop was great. We both got the Adult Capri-Suns and found them very refreshing. I got the burger, and my boyfriend got the club sandwich which we both enjoyed. Our waiter was very attentive and our food and drinks came out pretty quickly despite it being pretty busy. I'm torn on how to rate this place. My gut says with all the choices in Savannah, I wouldn't choose to come back. That said, the food was good. It's Easter Sunday dinner. Had reservation. More of a cafeteria vibe than nice restaurant as the name and website imply, plain tables and tin chairs. Was hoping for a bit nicer for Easter dinner, but this was what we chose. Appetizers: Wanted Charcuterie board. Sold out. Got garlic hummus platter and Cajun Angels which are bacon wrapped shrimp with a sweet & spicy BBQ sauce. They came out very quickly. Both were excellent. But we had no utensils or napkins. Asked waitress..took along while to get them. My hands were sticky and greasy from pulling shrimp off the skewers to eat before they got cold. Again..they were delicious. Just less than ideal way to eat them. Dinner ordered. Waitress came back. They were out of garlic mashed potatoes, which was side for almost all our meals. Substituted with cheesy grits. That's ok. Go with local choice. Can get mashed potatoes anywhere. Waitress was very apologetic about menu items being out. Meals were decent, but portions were small. My salmon was tiny, overcooked and over seasoned with salt. Was supposed to come with pineapple chutney. Had to ask for it. Got a little cup of syrup with 4 tiny pieces of pineapple. Others in our party had pasta which was very good, succotash also very good. Burger was ok. Vegetable platter for vegetarian was good. Parmesan honey fries were quite tasty. We wanted dessert but opted to get that elsewhere. Again..many other area choices, didn't want to be disappointed. The small side bar with separate entrance looked like a cute intimate place to grab a drink. They had a singer/guitar player. Maybe I'd come back for that, but again with so many places to choose from I think I'd take my chances on another place. read more

I went for brunch on Saturday at 2pm and loved this place. We sat upstairs at the bar and they had a dj and great atmosphere. They have a balcony but all those seats were full. The bartender was the friendliest, most upbeat bartender that I have ever had. I wish I would have gotten his name. The food was really good . They also adult Capri Sun drinks to take to go. You can really ask the bartender to make whatever you want. You can walk around Savannah with a drink in your hand. read more
