Service was good. Music was fun! However, when It came to the food my companion and I had different experiences. He enjoyed the fish and chips and especially like the blue cheese coleslaw. I had the irish mac & cheese with grilled chicken that was supposed to have had Guiness somewhere in it but it was completely undetectable. I envisioned a creamy cheesy Guiness infused sauce but it was so dry and bland. It had a lot of breadcrumbs in it and sprinkled cheese on top. It came with a wee salad that had homemade strawberry vinaigrette, again no flavor whatsoever. The salad did have nice, crisp field greens. Very disappointed. Wexford is a fantastic pub spot and a must-visit while in Savannah! The space spans two beautiful levels, complete with a great patio and live music to set the mood. The interior decor is incredibly charming and unique, filled with old library books, ship trinkets, and authentic artifacts that give it a wonderful, traditional feel. The staff here is exceptionally welcoming and attentive. They truly take the time to make conversation with every guest, offer great suggestions from the menu, and they were even thoughtful enough to ask if we were celebrating a special occasion! We only stopped in for drinks this time around, but the food looked absolutely amazing--and the staff will happily tell you all about the different awards their menu has won. I was honestly really excited to try Wexford. The space itself was great. We sat out on the deck, there was plenty to look at, & they had live music! I heard another server say they have it everyday! The food and drinks are where I felt a little conflicted. We ordered the poutine to start and were planning to order more, but our food came out before our two draft beers. One of the beers had something on the orange that looked off to me. Our server explained it was from the smoke gun, which may totally be the case, but once I noticed it, I just couldn't get past it. The poutine also wasn't my favorite. The fries were only moderately warm + kind of not salted, the gravy was thick and lumpy, it felt like a very minimal amount of meat, & the cheese curds didn't feel evenly spread throughout. We ended up leaving and eating somewhere else, but I would still give Wexford another shot. I was surprised with how many Irish pubs there are in Savannah. We were wanting to get lunch before our tour at the Prohibition Museum and Wexford just so happened to be right next door. We were told the portions were big so we opted to split an order of the fish n chips. They were not joking. Between the 2 of us, we were not able to finish the whole thing. My friends, wife and I came on a Friday evening around 5, and it wasn't all too busy. By the time we left at 7 though there were plenty of people so get here a bit ahead of peak hours if you want some faster service. The staff were very friendly, and the interior of the place was quite beautiful. Apparently the whole place was disassembled and brought over from Ireland! My wife and I ordered the Smash burger and fish and chips. The fish and chips were pretty good, but the burger was dry and a bit lack luster overall. Extremely disappointing experience. Awful service. Waited over 15 min for a server to even come over. Meanwhile two other tables seated AFTER us received water and beers. I had to tell two different people (a host and bartender) that we hadn't been greeted and asked one for at least some water. Many servers passed us as well as a manager. No one greeted us. Finally server came over almost 20 min after we had been waiting. At that point we just drank our water and left. Don't think we will be returning. read more

I've heard such great things about Wexford and I will say it didn't disappoint! The renovation is amazing. The bar area is huge and well done. It has a UK pub feel. I was torn between the pot roast dish entree and the Guinness pot roast sandwich. I decided on the sandwich--braised beef, swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, horseradish aioli, and crispy fried onions on French bread with au jus. Delicious!!! The crispy bread made it. The beef was full of flavor. The sandwich was also a nice size! My husband had the Wexford chicken sandwich and said it was really good. While we waited on the check a served passed by with a massive pretzel--that will definitely be ordered the next time we're dine here! read more

Loved Wexford so much on Friday night that I came back the next evening. Unfortunately, with literally seconds left in the Knicks game, staff shut off the TVs and pushed customers out the door. Several customers politely asked if they could wait until the final buzzer and were essentially told, "Nope, get out." I've never seen a sports bar shut off a major game with seconds remaining. A great first impression was completely undone in less than a minute. Extremely disappointing. read more

Wow, this was very unexpected. During our most recent trip to Savannah people kept recommending it to us, including a tour guide, so we were honestly skeptical. This restaurant is beautiful inside, with Irish music in the background. Madison was our delightful waitstaff who took our lunch order. We liked the specials 10/10/25, so Husband got Three Little Pigs Plate (Three banger sausage rolls, spicy mustard, with house cut fries and a wee salad) and I got the Irish Flag salad (Spinach, pear, orange segments, craisins, goat cheese and toasted pistachio with a Jameson Orange Vinaigrette). We sat in a corner booth with two large windows looking out to old buildings on Bryan Street. When our food came, it was memorable and delicious. If they sold the Jameson dressing, I would have bought several bottles. It was incredible!! (Note to management: Please think of selling it.) We enjoyed lunch so much - service, food and ambiance - that we made reservations for dinner. Our meal at dinner was also outstanding. Pam was as friendly and helpful as Madison. Husband got a naked corned beef sandwich on rye with fries and I got the Strawberries and Brie appetizer. Once again we savored every bite of our meals. The only bad thing? We forgot to use our coupons from the Trolley Co., which would have resulted in a less expensive lunch & dinner. Doh! But we don't regret eating here. Recommend this place! Sat outside for lunch but the inside is beautiful--went to the restroom before leaving and the inside was beautiful. Had the city market smash which was delicious. Hubby enjoyed his drink too. I had the lemon pepper wings which were surprisingly very good. Hubby had the Rachel with fries, both yummy too. We did run into service issues, but the manager was excellent with addressing the issue. There is live music, but we were there too early. Update: unfortunately this place seems to be struggling to stay consistent in terms of the food quality. Most notably with the fries. My past 2 visits the fries were either overcooked or super soggy and almost inedible. Which sucks cause I know how good these fries are supposed to be. I had dinner here last night and enjoyed the experience. I chose a table on the patio, which was the perfect spot to take in the beautiful weather and live music. I ordered the fish sandwich, and while the fish could have used a touch more seasoning, it was fresh, well-prepared, and made for an enjoyable meal overall. This was a first time visit to the Wexford. We were seated rather quickly on a Saturday evening as reservations were made online. We were seated on the second level of the restaurant, right next to the musicians stage. The live entertainment began just 15 minutes after our arrival, and we found it to be a delightful addition to our dining experience. Our appetizer of Whiskey Glazed Chicken shots arrived within about 10 minutes. They were tasty and heightened our expectations for the main courses. The main courses we ordered were outstanding. The Guinness Pot Roast, served with vegetables, was rich in flavor and required no additional seasoning. It also came with a delicious serving of soda bread. The Wexford Farmhouse Salad was impressively generous in portion size and tasted fantastic. We opted to add salmon, and it was cooked to perfection. Though it felt like we spent more time there, our entire dining experience lasted about one hour, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. For appetizers we had the Guiness Pretzel and Poutine Fries, actually a Canadian dish. The beef gravy & cheese curds on the Poutine fries were incredible. Although we didn't partake looked like a full stocked bar. We decided on water and sweet tea. As for our meal: Wifey had her favorite, Shepherds Pie. Trust me she's an expert - LOL. She tells me, it was good. But nothing special. It was FULL of meat but lacked a bunch of flavor that she expected. The size was very fully but again (get this) maybe too full with meat. Me, I had the fish and chips. Fish was nicely battered and the fries were very good. The fish portion was decent, but I could of used a little bit more fries with the meal. Lastly, our server did a very good job. He was attentive and checked on us several times during our stay. So I would eat here again, but I do think the wifey might went with something else.
