Delicious! Stopped in looking for a light lunch and found caprese was the special. Chose the salad over the sandwich along with a perfect peach iced tea. Salad was simple and also perfect. Ugh... Not much of anything I tried was good. The soup of the day was the least bad thing I had. Pannini was sooooo cold in the center and the chicken so dry. It made me sad. My pasta salad was very ungood too. My wife's roast beef wrap made me make awful faces. Luckily her soup wasn't bad. I really want to like this place but sadly cannot. First I'd like to say the the service and the staffs eagerness to accommodate us was impeccable! For that I'd give them 5 stars. BUT... We came because of the reviews, gluten free options, and because it was marked as kid friendly. The gluten free bread was ok as was the rest of the food. While you can get gluten free options it's basic and nothing to rave about. Over priced for the flavor. Definitely not kid friendly. The menu and atmosphere are not for kids. Visited Wright Square Cafe based on a recommendation from Cupcake Emporium (located in the same square). Very good half wrap and soup combo; the pomegranate iced tea was ok. For dessert had a couple chocolates including a truffle (oh my goodness, so good!) and a dark chocolate peanut butter cup, the flavor of that lingered on my tongue for awhile. They sell chocolates made in Savannah, other assorted chocolates (bonbons, chocolate covered pretzels, etc), baked goods and etc beyond their lunch items. An upscale chocolatier and nice little cafe. I had an assortment of about six morsels. The honeypot, the cognac and fig truffle, the tobacco truffle, the passionfruit, explosive chocolate, and some jelly kind. They were all really good, and you pay for what you get. The wrap was nice. Thoughtfully packaged and great for a quick/light lunch. All the ingredients were fresh. No soggy lettuce or icky week-old tomatoes! Yay! The cupcake was so good. What a gem! Absolutely adorable, French-inspired café/chocolatier with a very well-presented, homemade array of sandwiches, wraps, croissants, salads, truffles, quiches, muffins, pastries, jams... I could go on. Stopped in here the first time for a hot chocolate and a salted caramel brownie. Returned the next morning for a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant and two chocolate covered strawberries, just for the hell of it. Fun selection of cheeses, by the way! I got the smoked gouda on my croissant, while my husband got this amazing sharp white cheddar with dill and horseradish. YUM. Stumbled on the place just walking around Savannah's downtown. We decided to come back and try the food. It wasn't too bad, definitely a lunch stop. I stopped here in between visiting the Telfair museum locations. I had the quiche of the day, which came with a "small" side salad. I put it in quotes because it wasn't small, it was sizable. I really enjoyed going to Wright's Square Cafe during my first walk through Savannah today. Both the latte and peanut butter cookie were tasty. However, the food and drink were just part of my great experience here. The service is fast and very friendly. Gary, the owner, served me. He gave me a nice pocket size map of the city and told me of number of places to check out on Friday night. He also showed me his copy of "Connect Savannah" which had a bunch of free/affordable events listed for the weekend. Wright's Square Cafe may not be directly on the square but it is definitely worth visiting especially at the beginning of your visit in Savannah. Want the best muffin in Savannah? Go to the Wright Square Cafe and get the cranberry orange pecan muffin! It was so delicious, and by then I'd tried a few others, 'cause I'm a morning muffin gal, and hadn't found one that came close. This one was so flavorful, with just the right amount of orange, and the perfect blend of crunchy top and fluffy inside. My coffee was delicious too, and they have such a nice room to sit and relax with the morning paper, a book, or your wifi. I really love this place! Check it out if you go to Savannah. On our last trip to Savannah we stopped at the Wright Square Cafe to get a picnic lunch to take to the park with us. My husband and I both bought wraps and desserts. There were many interesting, but greatly overpriced, chocolates and other food related items in the small space. As we were waiting to check out, the owner became argumentative and rude to the customer in front of us. We were both embarrassed by the scene which carried over to him being surly to us. To top this off, I was halfway through my wrap--which was average at best--when I found a dark hair wrapped into my wrap. I didn't finish it and went on to my slightly stale cake. We will definitely not be returning to the Wright Square Cafe. read more

Great place. I didn't eat here often when I lived in Savannah (price points were a little high for me), but when I did, it was consistently good. The tuna melt is superb, and their truffles and dessert bars are to die for! They also started serving French macarons (my FAVORITE, and so hard to find) during my last few months living in Savannah. Beware, though, the dreaded Red Hatters love this place, and if you get stuck behind them in line, you'll be there a while!! read more

This is perfectly located in the historic district in Savannah and an easy walk from most of the area. It came up on the gluten free app I use as a great choice. We were there mid-afternoon, but there were a number of other lunch seekers, several local residents included. That's always a good sign. The woman waiting on us was very knowledgeable about gf and showed me the dedicated area they use. I took her advice and had smoked Gouda on tuna (not too much mayo!) grilled. My husband had a turkey and cheese bar-b-q wrap. We shared some delicious baked veggies with delicious fresh herbs (peppers, asparagus, squash, onion, sweet potato). Both sandwiches were delivered to our table with silverware and a smile. There was fresh coffee and a big cooler with a great variety of cold drinks. We were delighted with our lunch and almost didn't have room to share a gluten free peanut butter and chocolate blondie. We were not sorry that we indulged! I don't think we left a crumb on the plate! Staff was really cheerful, the dining tables were a bit close, but the decor was cozy. Bathrooms were clean.
