I live near this cafe and I often stop for a light bite or a coffee and pastry. The food is quite good, the pastry is delicious - be sure to have their cranberry orange muffin. Coffee is also excellent. The proprietors obviously take great pride in their cafe and there is a calm and pleasant ambience. They also have a great selection of high quality chocolates. read more

The staff here are soo incredibly friendly and nice I HAD TO right a review on this place! We made a quick stop into this adorable hodgepodge of a place called Wright Square Café on our way to the Owens-Thomas house. You can buy tea honey, mild Indian curry, Tomato Bruschetta spread and dip, CHEESE honey!, and yes, even chocolate tea (crazy huh!)! As the name goes, without doubt, they of course also have an assortment of chocolates to choose from, and I couldn't resist splurging on a piece of white chocolate and raspberry truffle, and it was as good as it looked! However the best part of the place aside from all the cool random mixtures of products they've thrown together, is hands down, the service. Everyone is so warm and welcoming, you feel so good you don't want to leave! We asked a simple question on the cross streets of a restaurant we were planning to go to for dinner, as we didn't have the address on us, and one guy in particular (I feel bad I didn't catch his name) went out of his way to find a coworker who recognized the name and could help us with directions. Everyone was super nice and really helpful. If I lived in Savannah I'd become a regular at this place just because of how sweet the staff was! Lastly they have a cute café next door that has an awesome menu, I wish we had made the time to grab a bite there. Our trip was so short we were not able to make it back to Wright for a meal, but I will say, just going off of the menu and the quick look we got inside, the food looks delicious. If you find yourself in Savannah, please give this little gem of a place a stop, they are so absurdly nice and they deserve the business! read more

The high-quality chocolates are to savour slowly in their comfortable dining area. I appreciate the random partitions that separate areas of the cafe. Makes a large space more cozy. I would have given 5 stars but this is our second visit here. The first visit, the coffee, lemon bar and chocolate were ho-hum. The last day we stopped by this cute shop, and it was by far the best experience I've had in this city, the staff and food were both incredible. A splendid little cafe that's good for chocolate and sandwiches. Their chocolate covered pretzels tasted a little old and were pretty clearly from the chocolate shop down on the harbor. Went there last week with a friend for lunch--got in there JUST as the lunch time was closing down, but the hostess was very kind and got us in, thank goodness! Hard to make up my mind, everything on the menu just sounded so good, but finally settled for the Lamb Wrap with grilled vegies and pasta salad. My girlfriend had the Roast Beef with fries and a tortellini salad. The waiter was charming, helpful and attentive, the atmosphere calm and tasteful, with off-white walls and carved, dark wood screens--clean and classic. The presentation was good, and the lamb really delicious--though a couple of more slices of it would have been nice. The lamb roll was quite good, but just needed something more--I told the waiter this and he suggested hummus, then got me a little cup of it from the kitchen to dip the sandwich into--marvelous! Delicious! The fire-roasted vegies were a nice touch too, and the pasta salad tasty, though a little al dente. My friend couldn't quite finish her sandwich so she gave me the other half---WOW!! The roast beef was tender and incredibly delicious, with an intense beef flavor that must have come from glacé de viande. Such a rich taste! Again, there should have been more meat for the price, but what there was tasted great! I made the suggestion to the waiter (for the kitchen) that they might fold or bunch the meat up a little more so the sandwiches did not appear so flat. The tortellini salad was also quite good, with tomato, spinach and egg flavored pasta--colorful and delicious. All in all, I was very pleased with the meal, the atmosphere and the service, and fully intend to make my way back there SOON for the curried chicken salad with chutney (my other choice). Prices are a tad high for lunch, but the food is excellent. My sandwich was $9.95, my friend's was $8.95. Definitely and highly recommended! read more

I had a bachelorette party and used this café to cat our day at the spa. The girls could not stop talking about the wraps. I am not sure what we order and that is one of the great things. The service is friendly and thorough, and the breakfast sandwiches were made to order and served up hot. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and soups, and of course they have their famous fine chocolates. But for my money, the real stars of the show are the absolutely delicious home-made pastries, cakes, and cookies. And their Gooey Butter Bars are to die for. Here in the city they were invented in, there are many pale imitations of this classic. But at Wright Square, their version of the Gooey Butter is a religious experience. First stop on our Savanah trip and we arrived hungry. Went because my husband's middle/family name is Wright. It didn't steer us wrong. Sandwiches and wraps are HUGE, but they will split them for you, which was very nice, I must say. The curry chicken salad was wonderful. And that tortellini salad was refreshing and flavorful - love the dressing on that. Everything is obviously made on site and the staff were incredibly helpful, patient as we decided, and friendly. My only recommendation is to get a new, glass water pitcher as the only they have looks a little abused and well, not appetizing. (Walmart sells some smart glass ones with lids.) When we left we saw a family standing outside trying to decide whether to go in and eat or not, we told them it was all delicious and they should give it a try. We will be back next year! read more

Having eaten at both the downtown and newly-opened Sandfly Wright Square Cafe, my comments apply to both eateries. While the food is good and offers a nice variety, most everything on the menu is pre-made. My croissant sandwich was fresh and tasty, as was the soup I ordered. However, having spent $12.00 for my sandwich and soup--no beverage--I don't think it is too much to ask that my lunch be served on a plate and in a soup cup as opposed to styrofoam. Also, I think they could throw in a pickle, chips or fruit as a side. Most restaurants in this price range serve on plates. A very cute cafe in Savannah's Historic District. It's in a great location if you happen to be wandering the streets of Savannah and has an amazing assortment of chocolates, gifts, and other treats. I had the tuna salad and it was some of the best tuna I've ever had. They don't load it down with a ton of mayo or anything so it tastes very fresh and, of course, delicious. What a GREAT local cafe to come across! Not only do they sell coffee, panini's, salads, and desserts, But they also have the most delicious chocolates! They have house made chocolates and use local ingredients from the community. This is a stop that everyone must take before leaving Savannah...... I'm hooked! When we went there where tons of little girlscouts running about on some kind of field trip;It was incredibly crouded but quickly dissapated when they all found a seat.It was just my mother and i on a little getaway for lunch,So we got Our lunch.She got a Turkey Sandwich and some water.I got fruit salad and water;Once we'd eaten lunch we just had to try their Chocolates;That was the specialty.,After all. The chocolates themselves where amazing;Some reached towards 5$;But they where worth it. They had season-happy Candies,As well as some old fashioned candies.Their food selection is not 100% for all groups of allergens and such; But they do have alot.They have a large case of chocolates to choose from and The workers are absolutely happy with their jobs;They Where all happy go lucky and Very smiley. Staff was friendly, however, my chicken salad croissant was terrible. I couldn't see the chicken salad in the croissant and the croissant which should have been buttery and flaky, was dry as a bone. Probably because the food is made ahead of time and wrapped in saran wrap, so you have no idea how fresh the sandwiches/wraps are. We paid $30 for 2 sandwiches and a cup of soup. Informed the girl behind the counter and she stated she could get me another sandwich. Really...why would I want another dry empty sandwich. I proceeded to buy some of their chocolates and got 6 (six) for $22. I, at least, thought she would throw one in for free since she was informed of the crappy lunch. No such luck. After we left, proceeded back home to Florida and was sicker than a dog. Will go back to visit Savannah, however will stay away from Wright Square Café. read more

Stopped here today on a local food tour. Amazing!!! The owner is so passionate about his inventory. The chocolates are divine. If you are coming in here for low prices, low quality chocolates you should head next door to CVS. This is high quality decadent chocolate well worth the price. We left with a nice lot to take home to Atlanta and we will definitely be back. One of the highlights of our day! read more
