FANTASTIC! What a lovely experience, we will absolutely be back, we got the lunch special which is $32, including a starter, main + side, dessert, and tea / coffee. The whole meal was wonderful, service was super fast and friendly. The place is quaint and fun, just 11/10. Cheese cake was lovely with the tea, the fries are INSANE! You have to stop here for a lunch. Absolutely delicious.

I was actually planning to visit another restaurant a few blocks away, but this one was closer to where I parked, so I just ate here. The Cafe has a small lunch menu of salads, sandwiches and apps. The space near the front entrance has a counter display with chocolates and other desserts. A few items looked good on the menu, but I ended up going with the meatloaf sandwich, which sounded unique and the waiter said its filling. It tasted good initially, as it is visually daunting due to its thick stature. Very hard to eat without cutting it in half. When I did that and took the 2nd bite, I noticed the inside was cold but outside was warm to melt the cheese. It's supposed to be completely warm of course, so for that I am deducting a star. It comes with potato chips, nothing special there. Overall for the price, I thought it was a 2/5 They have several different types of desserts, including chocolates, bars, cakes and a brownie. All are supposedly homemade by a local lady. I was going to order dessert anyway, but since my entree was cold in the middle, I was a comped a brownie and took this back to the hotel. I've eaten a ton of brownies all over the US and was extremely dissapointed in this one. I felt it was very basic and didn't seem to contain any exotic or high quality ingredients. To me, it seems like a teenager made it instead of a local town lady. In summary, I am sure other entrees are awesome, but I just happened to come on a bad day.

The sidewalk chalkboard beckoned us in with a $5 Blood Orange Mimosa, so in we went. Cute little shop with a dining area, and counter service. The guy behind the counter was quick to give us his attention but seemed deflated that we were not eating so our drinks were just plopped on the counter with no care given to presentation. * The "blood orange mimosa" was a small plastic cup of Prosecco with the juice frozen into a cube, so we had to wait for it to melt for any taste. * The peach Bellini was a semi frozen chunk of peach likewise dropped in a small cup of Prosecco with no discernible nectar or juice to help flavor it. I'd never tried marzipan (which looked really good!) so I ordered one, and was handed a cute little banana. If you've never also never had marzipan, it's apparently a a gritty sugary almond flavored clay that people shape into fruits. Yeah...

I don't believe in coincidence however I do believe in happy accidents, and this one was prime. We planned to visit another Yelp location but could not locate a parking spot anywhere nearby. Lucky for us this gem has its own parking lot. Score You enter what looks to be just a counter cafe, yet after receiving a kind greeting you are led into a very light and airy room with small tables and side booths. See photos. Luca, our server was just stellar. After seating us he came back a few moments later introduced himself and took our drink order. Returning fairly quickly we ordered the flounder fish and chips and the bacon wrapped meatloaf sans the cheddar cheese. I also wanted to try the homemade onion rings, and the meatloaf came with homemade potatoes chips I also wanted to sample. Score again! The meatloaf was tender, and the bacon savoury. I took one slice of bread off, preferring a more open sandwich style. The chips were fantastically crunchy with perfect seasoning. The onion rings; some of the freshest and beautifully battered I could ever hope to enjoy. One of the owners, Todd, came out to enquire how we liked the food, and also serve us while Luca was busy, and regale us with tails of his championship corgi's he and his partner have shown and bred. I told him how much we enjoyed the food and also as West Coasters we have recently discovered the Atlantic flounder which makes for tasty eating. Todd told us his comes mostly from Florida. I mustn't forget how my husband spied the lime pound cake in the front as you walk in. So glad we ordered it. Not only an interesting green color but also comes with tasty fresh black berries on the side. Plenty to share. Don't be fooled by the outside of the restaurant which rather looks like a bar or a pub. Be sure to venture inside where you will be delighted to find excellent culinary delights as the menu is varied, prices are reasonable and the service is excellent.

Service is friendly and patient. the food.... Omg, farm and garden fresh deliciousness. They were out of a few things we wanted to try but were treated with delightfully off menu garden peaches with goat cheese from the chef. What an amazing experience, we will be back every time we visit Savannah. Thank you for the services

This place is awesome! The food was so good it made my eyes water and the service was great! It's run by these two older men and they are lovely. The food was so fresh and they are so accommodating to any dietary needs. Highly recommend the shrimp salat stuffed tomato and the house made chips!

If we could put six stars here, we would! Tod and Michael have the most amazing restaurant, and we enjoy everything on the menu! They know what great food is made of... fresh ingredients, excellent preparation, and simplicity. Add excellent service and you have a winning combination. Wright Square Bistro never fails! PS - don't forget to try the potato chips

Very friendly & prompt service of a delicious brunch. Nice selection of foods, ingredients are locally sourced. And did I mention their chocolates? Wright Square cafe has a charming area to eat in, a couple of tables for dining al fresco, tasteful decor and very clean. We will be regulars!

Just a lovely atmosphere! Felt like someone's home.

Wow! What a fabulous lunch we had at this charming bistro! Family of 4 (2 kids under 18) all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the lovely owners (ask them about their corgis!). Husband and I had the mimosas, and they were unique and delicious! Three of us had different option versions of the grilled cheese and LOVED them and I had the salad with the delicious Vidalia onion dressing (buy a bottle to take home!). Fabulous! And we are still talking about the homemade chips and pecan pie! Truly! Do yourself a favor and visit this gem of a bistro! We'll be back for sure on another visit!

Before our trip, one of my fraternity brothers told me that if I wanted some of the best Southern soul food in Savannah, I had to visit Mrs. Wilkes. He also warned me that there would be a long wait. Let me just say--he was absolutely right on both counts! We arrived at the restaurant and stood in line outside in the rain. We didn't get seated until 1:00 PM. Normally, I would not wait that long for a meal, but for the record, and I can't believe I'm saying this--it was worth every minute of the wait. The experience was unlike any restaurant I've ever visited. My wife and I were seated at a large table with approximately eight other people whom we had never met. Yet within minutes, it felt like we were dining with family. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and filled with genuine Southern hospitality. The food was simply outstanding. Every traditional Southern dish you can imagine was brought to the table and passed family-style from person to person. The home-cooked flavors reminded me of the meals many of us grew up enjoying. Everything was delicious, and the desserts were just as impressive. What made the experience even more special was the sense of community. People of different backgrounds and races were dining together, sharing food, conversation, and fellowship. The staff worked together seamlessly and went out of their way to make every guest feel welcome. While we waited in line, a gracious lady shared the history of the restaurant and the legacy of Mrs. Wilkes herself. The staff even provided umbrellas to guests who didn't have one--including me--which was a thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes about their commitment to customer service. From the food, to the hospitality, to the rich history and unique family-style dining experience, Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room exceeded every expectation. If you're visiting Savannah, this is not just a meal--it's an experience. I proudly give Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room a 5 out of 5-star rating and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah.

The cabbage tasted like it had been boiled in plain water with absolutely no seasoning. Both the red rice and the New Orleans rice reminded us of Minute Rice or Uncle Ben's microwavable rice--bland, lacking flavor, and nothing like the rich, seasoned rice dishes we were expecting. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned, and the potato wedges were cooked perfectly, but those two items weren't enough to save the meal. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. The cinnamon toast banane was not so much toast as cinnamon rolls with bananas foster; the cinnamon rolls were really tasty and the bananas foster was good, though the bourbon flavor was strong. It's a spot that looks and feels like somewhere you want to be, which is exactly why I'd give the kitchen another shot based on how the owner runs this place. --- Original review (2 stars): Disappointing birthday dinner. Came in for my birthday and left underwhelmed. Our server Troy was the one bright spot -- professional and attentive all night. Caesar salad: Several bitter pieces of lettuce, and no black pepper offered or available. Faroe Island salmon: Overly buttery like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The shishito cream sauce was way too acidic -- tasted like uncooked wine or vinegar. Crispy rice cakes were bland and a strange pairing (rice blocks with salmon?). The baby bok choy was decent until the sauce drowned it out. Braised beef short rib: Tender but flavorless. The mashed potatoes tasted old, not fresh that evening. To top it off, my wife had arranged ahead of time for the birthday dessert to be brought out -- the message never reached Troy, so that moment never happened. Troy deserved better than what the kitchen sent out.
