We were attending a wedding in Sunrise amphitheater, but has to stop and grab some early dinner because we all know how it is with weddings. Saw this on yelp and decided to give it a try and we're glad we did. I ordered some fish and chips and was served with a generous amount of battered peppery cod and crunchy fries. Bartender was also nice enough to bring us some balsamic vinegar in a stainless shot glass! Husband had the smoke brisket and I kid you not, it was one of the best that we've tasted. Meat was soft and feels like it melts in your mouth in every bite! We would definitely come back for that! So why did I knock out a star, it was because the sign says that there were available rooftop seating. The young lady who btw had a cute outfit with her doc marten's and taylor swift vibes, led us to sit near the bar, I casually ask if we can sit on the patio, and she just turned me down. She said we can't, as it was reserved and I kid you not, it was 4PM and the patio was COMPLETELY EMPTY. There were a few seated near the bar though. But I was going to argue but I just let it go because, we're there to have a good time. It was just such a drag because we came from out of state and just wanted to enjoy some fresh Colorado air while enjoying our quick meal and twisted pine rotator. I found myself walking through Pearl Street Mall after 9 pm and wanting a bite to eat. Luckily, The West End Tavern was still open. As a vegetarian and it clearly being a BBQ place, I wasn't sure what options they may even have had. Luckily, they have a veggie burger (chickpea patty-based) with seasoned fries on their menu for $15. Called ahead as we were out of towners. "Do you have plenty of TVs for today's games"? "Oh, we have loads"! When we made our way there and paid 10 bucks to park, there was exactly 1 tv in the bar. About a 42 incher at the end not in the middle. Upstairs was closed for a function we weren't advised of. So that was a costly mistake. Ended up at BJ's and where the food was hot, and beer was cold. I would never recommend this place for a sports bar. You will get nothing. read more

I've dined here once before and had a great experience. Was happy to get back to this spot. There was a wait for a table when we arrived so decided to sit at the bar. We were fine with bar dining so we stayed put. The service and hostess were very quick & friendly. We started with the burnt ends which were so good, I didn't get a picture of them. Both of the sandwiches we ordered were a huge portion! I asked for no bun & they happily substituted lettuce. We were fulfilled & satisfied with our meal choices! After stopping to briefly see my parents, my ex-bf and I wanted to stroll through Pearl street in Boulder since we were close by. We were wanting to eat a little but not to be full. I had told him about this place and we decided to come here. We sat at the bar and the bar tenders were great. We had their complimentary cornbread and it was heaven! We ordered the brussel sprouts and burnt ends to share. This place is definitely tasty. The brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly and the burnt ends were phenomenal. 3.5 stars if I could! I ordered takeout of the brisket sandwich and got a side of Mac n cheese. Probably went like 15-20 minutes before eating it and the bread was getting soggy, which I don't like. I liked the flavor of the sandwhich with the pickles & sauces they add. It seemed like a mayo of some sort. The mac and cheese was tasty, but maybe a little bland for my liking. Very delicious bbq at ridiculous prices. I ordered 1 lb beef brisket to go. Over $37 not including tax. It does not come with any sides, just meat. I believe I received a pound which was enough to almost satisfy us two hungry hikers but did a double take when opening my to go container and seeing how little that actually provides for the price. The meat itself was super tender and flavorful, smoky and came with a great apple bbq sauce I loved. The food was not packaged well unfortunately. Some kind of greasy-liquidy sauce opened and spilled immediately in the bag and made everything a big mess. If I was a local I still think Id go back again because the food was amazing. Our group of friends came here after hiking the flat irons and we couldn't be any happier. Everything was fantastic from the atmosphere, servicers, to the food itself. I would come back here next time I go hiking around the area! Pro: -The food was so good. Crispy fresh and delicious -Amazing service right when we entered the hostess greeted then seated us. I ordered a fish sandwich -- the fish was perfectly moist and I loved the jalapeno mayo. The bread was soft as well. The fries were a coated kind which I don't normally like, but these ones were great. My friend's fish and chips were equally moist and delicious. The food came out quickly as well. The only bummer is that my water never got refilled. Also, the seating on the rooftop is quite tight. My burger came out perfectly covered... Great flavor... Just messy enough. Update: So once we got the bill the story changed. When ordering my wife asked to swap her fries for the chili and the waitress said there would be a small upcharge. No worries, the menu says $2 for other sides. When we got the bill it was $8. We ended up coming here on a whim as Mountain Sun is cash only (we don't have time for that!) and we saw a photo of the rooftop terrace. It was still Happy Hour when we got their so between us we shared off with a HH Margarita and local Colorado beer - the margarita was a little sour/tart and I wasn't keen on my Post Pilsner - I didn't realise until after I ordered it, their brewery is just down the street!! I checked in on Yelp and it came up as 3 free chicken wings so I took that! They do their wings buffalo or dirty, I did dirty which is like a honey smoked garlic and chilli - they were good. Next we move on to their HH Manhattans which were good and once HH was over we stuck with their Old Buffalos basically an Old Fashioned and they were good, we ended up having a couple. Were cruising Pearl Street on a Friday around noon and decided to pop in here for lunch before the rain started. We did sit outside and the umbrellas kept us nice and dry. Our server was very good. With a Yelp check in you get three free wings. I ordered poorly because their parmesan garlic wings were thickly coated and very dry. I really disliked them. Yuck. For my main I got the chicken sandwich (the honey version) and unfortunately it was a bit dry - just OK. The falafel plate had good flavor but they were over fried. For tasty burgers and bbq in Boulder, this is a great option! I would recommend making a reservation because it was very busy and the reservation helped! When I called to make a same-day reservation, the host was incredibly helpful and even worked it out so that we could sit outside. At the server's recommendation, I had a burger and it did not disappoint! My friend ordered the BBQ Platter and was able to sub pulled pork for the hot links. So good! We only had a short time in Boulder and decided to have dinner here, because it is highly rated. It was a Thursday evening and they were PACKED! Because we were just two, they had a table on the rooftop terrace. Our server was great, even if she was a little slower to get to us initially (it was busy after all). They have a great beer list and hubby got to try two local IPAs that he hadn't yet had. Dinner did not disappoint. Hubby had the pulled pork sandwich and subbed the red BBQ sauce for the Carolina sauce. I had the jalapeño and pepper jack burger, which was yummy and nicely spicy. My friend and I wanted a filling meal after our Sunday hike, so we opted for burgers at the West End Tavern. We sat on the roof and got lucky with a beautiful November day. We each ordered the same beer. When our server came back, she informed us that the keg had run out so she only had one. She gave us a sample of another IPA and a minute to decide what we wanted to do. When we tasted the beer we originally ordered, it tasted nothing like an IPA. It was flat and bland, presumably due to it being the last glass of the keg. I asked our server if we could each have the other option she brought out to try, and she happily obliged. The Tavern burger with cheese was super tasty. The fries were probably the big winner for me and I loved dipping them in an extra side of the aioli. We stopped here after a long day in the mountains with our stomachs ready for a hefty meal. The West End Tavern has a lot of great options and they had a lot of seating which was spread apart due to COVID. We felt safe and were easily able to enjoy our meal. I ordered the BBQ Pork sandwich. They use a carolina gold bbq sauce which was really light and subtle. Additionally, the pork itself was a bit lean and therefore dry. I kept thinking that what the sandwich needed was a healthy pour of more sauce! However, it was nice that the sandwich was not too heavy. The brioche bun was toasted and crispy. The buttery-ness made a fantastic addition. The french fries came out piping hot and really hit the spot. We also tried the free wings that came with the Yelp check-in. We ordered the dirty style which was definitely sweet but not overbearingly so. The wings are charred nicely, adding tons of flavor without making you think they are burnt. As with much of Denver, the beer selection here is solid. We tried three different ones and ended up loving them all. I am still baffled at how great craft beer is in this region! Overall, this place has a lot of good options and though nothing is particularly outstanding, it is all done really well. The area also has great vibes making it a good stop in Boulder. read more

Even with all the covid precautions, this place was awesome.All of the restaurants on Pearl St have claimed the sidewalks and part of the street and set up tables. The entire street is so cute!! The hostess took my reservation on the phone and had a large outdoor table ready for us. The drinks are on point (you have to try the spirit animal). Large beer selection. The bar seems to be Colorado/boulder centric. The server made great suggestions for drinks and food. She was great about getting everything right and refilling drinks throughout the dinner.
