I ordered a fish sandwich -- the fish was perfectly moist and I loved the jalapeno mayo. The bread was soft as well. The fries were a coated kind which I don't normally like, but these ones were great. My friend's fish and chips were equally moist and delicious. The food came out quickly as well. The only bummer is that my water never got refilled. Also, the seating on the rooftop is quite tight. Our group of friends came here after hiking the flat irons and we couldn't be any happier. Everything was fantastic from the atmosphere, servicers, to the food itself. We ended up coming here on a whim as Mountain Sun is cash only (we don't have time for that!) and we saw a photo of the rooftop terrace. It was still Happy Hour when we got their so between us we shared off with a HH Margarita and local Colorado beer - the margarita was a little sour/tart and I wasn't keen on my Post Pilsner - I didn't realise until after I ordered it, their brewery is just down the street!! I checked in on Yelp and it came up as 3 free chicken wings so I took that! They do their wings buffalo or dirty, I did dirty which is like a honey smoked garlic and chilli - they were good. Next we move on to their HH Manhattans which were good and once HH was over we stuck with their Old Buffalos basically an Old Fashioned and they were good, we ended up having a couple. Were cruising Pearl Street on a Friday around noon and decided to pop in here for lunch before the rain started. We did sit outside and the umbrellas kept us nice and dry. Our server was very good. With a Yelp check in you get three free wings. I ordered poorly because their parmesan garlic wings were thickly coated and very dry. I really disliked them. Yuck. For my main I got the chicken sandwich (the honey version) and unfortunately it was a bit dry - just OK. The falafel plate had good flavor but they were over fried. This place has the best barbecue and cornbread with jalapeños. I could have eaten the whole thing. They have great cocktails and the food is top rate. When I called to make a same-day reservation, the host was incredibly helpful and even worked it out so that we could sit outside. At the server's recommendation, I had a burger and it did not disappoint! My friend ordered the BBQ Platter and was able to sub pulled pork for the hot links. So good! We only had a short time in Boulder and decided to have dinner here, because it is highly rated. It was a Thursday evening and they were PACKED! Because we were just two, they had a table on the rooftop terrace. Our server was great, even if she was a little slower to get to us initially (it was busy after all). They have a great beer list and hubby got to try two local IPAs that he hadn't yet had. Dinner did not disappoint. Hubby had the pulled pork sandwich and subbed the red BBQ sauce for the Carolina sauce. I had the jalapeño and pepper jack burger, which was yummy and nicely spicy. My friend and I wanted a filling meal after our Sunday hike, so we opted for burgers at the West End Tavern. We sat on the roof and got lucky with a beautiful November day. We each ordered the same beer. When our server came back, she informed us that the keg had run out so she only had one. She gave us a sample of another IPA and a minute to decide what we wanted to do. When we tasted the beer we originally ordered, it tasted nothing like an IPA. It was flat and bland, presumably due to it being the last glass of the keg. I asked our server if we could each have the other option she brought out to try, and she happily obliged. The Tavern burger with cheese was super tasty. The fries were probably the big winner for me and I loved dipping them in an extra side of the aioli. We stopped here after a long day in the mountains with our stomachs ready for a hefty meal. The West End Tavern has a lot of great options and they had a lot of seating which was spread apart due to COVID. We felt safe and were easily able to enjoy our meal. I ordered the BBQ Pork sandwich. They use a carolina gold bbq sauce which was really light and subtle. Additionally, the pork itself was a bit lean and therefore dry. I kept thinking that what the sandwich needed was a healthy pour of more sauce! However, it was nice that the sandwich was not too heavy. The brioche bun was toasted and crispy. The buttery-ness made a fantastic addition. The french fries came out piping hot and really hit the spot. We also tried the free wings that came with the Yelp check-in. We ordered the dirty style which was definitely sweet but not overbearingly so. The wings are charred nicely, adding tons of flavor without making you think they are burnt. As with much of Denver, the beer selection here is solid. We tried three different ones and ended up loving them all. I am still baffled at how great craft beer is in this region! Overall, this place has a lot of good options and though nothing is particularly outstanding, it is all done really well. The area also has great vibes making it a good stop in Boulder. read more

Made a last minute reservation to hit the Happy Hour here and get an early Friday dinner. Service was excellent, the bartender was really friendly, and our server, Meghan, was super on top of it. The food was really great, I loved the brisket, and my partner (who is a classic Georgia boi), said this was some of the best BBQ he's had in Colorado. The place was packed, but we were seated right away. The service was super fast which is the opposite of what you normally see these days. But one thing is for sure, The West End Tavern has become one of my favorites. I came here three times in the course of a week for work with each time trying something different. I've tried the three meat plate, brisket sandwich and the mushroom burger. Onto the food! The three meat plate was an amazing choice as it gives you a glimpse of the meats they have. The ribs fell off the bone, the chicken was juicy and savory and the sausage was nice and spicy! The brisket sandwich made me fall in love. Fatty and juicy with every bite, well worth the price. The mushroom burger was massive. Thick, juicy and cooked to perfection! I'd recommend asking for grilled onions for this. Overall, West End Tavern is an amazing spot to try. Be warned though they are a tad bit pricey. If you want the most for your buck I would recommend the brisket sandwich. Jump on their check in deal because those wings were amazing! read more
