My son and his wife brought us to this place during our visit to Colorado. Right from the start the service was amazing and friendly. Team work was apparent as Austin greeted us and got us started with drinks (helping out Eric). Had to try Dale's Ale. Delicious. We then shared a bunch of appetizers. We did the Nachos with steak (cheese sauce was amazeballs and the steak was excellent), roasted beets (fantastic), fried pickles (delicious), and then Austin brought us by a plate of Hush Puppies (best Hush Puppies we have ever had). We also ordered a cup of their Gumbo to try. Incredibly tasty!! For main courses, my wife and I had the Prime Rib Dip (Delicious), my son had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich (fried-he loved it), my daughter-in-law had a burger that she loved. Came in for a late lunch at 2 o'clock. Sat for 15 minutes and no one came to greet us take a drink order or our food order. There was a table next to us wrapping up their meal and a server walk by three times without acknowledging us. About 10 minutes after being seated, another table was seated in our area and they were greeted within two minutes. We waited five more minutes and still no one came so we left, we weren't going to beg for someone to serve us. So disappointing we were really looking forward to Oskar Blues. read more

Designated Dales is a pretty good near beer. The "Realest" near Pilsner with a nice slightly fruity flavor and none of that chalky aftertaste that NA beers are know for. Also, the OG Dales and Dales IPA are more different than I realized. read more

Over the course of the last several visits to Oskar Blues in Lyons, we have become less and less pleased with the changes in the menu selections and the food. Two visits previous to this last visit, had the salmon, and was sick by the time we got home. Previous visit after that, having the OB Burger on a GF bun was passable. This last visit was without a doubt the coup de gras of really bad food. I ordered the dinner portion of their 'Gumbo' . First of all, when it came out and they put it on the table in front of me I was beginning to wonder if they had the wrong order. I've never seen gumbo that is grayish-brown. My husband had ordered a cup of the gumbo and tasted his before I tasted mine. He just stared at me waiting for my reaction. After I tasted mine, I understood why he was waiting to say something. It was absolutely the most disgusting excuse I have ever put in my mouth, for something that's supposed to be 'gumbo'. It was tasteless gravy with a glop of rice in the middle. I think it had two maybe three thin little slices of sausage that had very nominal taste. I think I found two or three dime size bits of meat that I think were chicken, but it was really hard to tell what it was because it was so tasteless. When the waiter came, I told him very politely that that was the worst 'gumbo' I'd ever had in my life. I know how to make real roux based creole gumbo; with actual chicken (you can see and taste), real andouille sausage, and vegetables. I would have been ashamed to offer this greyish-brown tasteless mess to anyone...... much less a paying customer! I am chiding myself for not taking a picture of the dish. To their credit, they took my dish off the bill. Especially appropriate since most of it was left in the bowl.... even after trying to give it some 'flavor' by using Sriracha sauce. read more

We were passing through this cute town and stopped to eat here. My husband heard it was good. We had the hazy IPA's and a taster of the raspberry blonde. They were both delicious. We ordered the smoked wings with sauce on the side. They were SO GOOD! They didn't need sauce with them. Then were ordered the green chili soup and their special, pozole. We shared both soups and couldn't decide which one was better. They were both terrific. The staff and waiter were very friendly. If we ever travel in this area again, we will come back. read more

Creamy but not as remarkable as some have been. Flavor lacking but I did like they didn't have toooo much rice like sometimes 3/5 Sandwiches- I didn't try but reportedly they were delish :) Ambiance was a little meh but it was totally dead on a Sunday early afternoon - went in the downstairs entrance and couldn't then tell if the place was open! We were invited to Oskar Blues Grill & Brew 8/21/25 by the bride & groom for a pre-wedding meet up of out-of-town guests. They picked a great spot. We sat on the front porch. There is also an inside bar & dining area And another larger room in the back. The bartender Brett H. was friendly and helpful as we navigated their great beer selection of 7 Oskar Blues Beers & 6 Dale's Pale Ales (their first beer). Apps & lunches were had by all. We had Chicharonnes ($9) w/ hot sauce for dipping & Chicken Caesar salad ($16). I enjoyed their OB Mama's Little Pils ($7.25/pint). I had their very good Dale's Ale previously. We stopped in again on Sat 8/2325 after our all day visit to nearby Rocky Mountain National Park. Exploring is thirsty work. Very relaxing atmosphere for our afternoon visit. This used to be the spot in Lyons. I have great memories here of awesome food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. I stopped in this afternoon to have a late lunch with my wife and son. We waited by the host stand for maybe 10 minutes for sometime to acknowledge us. A few employees walked by without even a hello. We ended up leaving and going to another spot down the street. Really bummed because I was excited to show this place to my family since they had never been. What happened?? Loved the interior decor, very on point for a brewery. Service was prompt and the service was very nice. Our table enjoyed the Prime Rib Sandwich, The Happy Hippy Sandwich, House Salad w/cup of Gumbo soup & Salad w/ Grilled Chicken! Great place for a casual meal paired with a beer. Tons of space both inside and outside including a downstairs live music area/bar. They have a good food menu including typical bar/American favorites and pizzas. We ordered their version of a Supreme pizza; it came stuffed to the brim with toppings and could easily feed a family of 4. Their appetizer soft pretzel is a must-get. I really liked their Mutant X beer...delicious hoppy and fruity. We also had their pretzels and nachos....now while I cant say it's the best. Oskar Blues is a massive place and there are so many seating areas, inside and out. One of the things I was hoping to do was to cozy up to an outside spot and find a warm fire pit to enjoy a beer. It was cold when we visited and folks must have had the same idea, lol. All of the cozy fire pit and/or gas fire spots were taken. So, we headed back in and found a spot at the bar. Interesting tidbit here, there is one place to order and then once place to pick up your order, much like when you're at Starbucks. This simple process allows the beer tenders to have speed and efficiency with tackling orders, picking up empties and keeping the line moving very quickly. Nice job here. I'd love to return on a warmer day and find a perfect spot to relax and watch the birds outside. We shall return! read more

This is the worst jambalaya I ever had.. Supposed to have andouille sausage chicken as well as shrimp. I got chicken two pieces of andouille sausage and zero shrimp . If you're going to advertise those three ingredients then they better well be in the order Terrible food threw it out in disgust. Come on, make the recipe do it well and have something to be proud of. Not a hard dish, actually derives from a poor man's dish, the scraps of other quality food. You need to get it right and it's not hard. Don't bother ordering just make it yourself and you will be happy. Open up your own stand and do better. Did I mention I spent 20$ on this 10$ dish? Not a memorable experience. Years ago tho place was amazing, but it's so different now. The food is poor to mediocre and the atmosphere is sterile and unappealing. We did have a fantastic server but she could not really make up for the baseline of bleh that this place has become. Sad. Since Dale brought this place to life I have been coming here. We used to come up on the bus and party the night away. On my latest visit, much has changed. It's lost the spark, it's no longer the energetic hot spot it once was. The decor is muted, the staff if down even the food has fallen. The beers remain close to the same but the passion for them is gone. They are no longer held high and praised as a product of hard work. I have to assume this is due to the sale to the Monster group but I could be wrong. read more

Cameron for dinner we sat in the main dining and bar area. Music was loud and they had a live band as well so not the vibe hearing 2 different songs at the same time. We ordered smoked wings and a prime rib sandwich. I tried a wing it was dry and overcooked on the second bite of the wing I bit into a feather guess jo time to prep. I took 1 bite of the sandwich and thought I was just no recovering from the feather. I took a minute to have some water and picked up the sandwich and smelled it and the beef was so rancid it was shocking. I had my husband smell it and he gagged. Took 10 minutes to talk to someone. They did comp the meal but I am very concerned for anyone who may have eaten there today. read more

Oskar Blues is the place to go after a long hike! Especially when it's hot out and you need a nice cold beer! We were seated right away on the outside patio (had it to ourselves at lunch time) , and our waitress brought us water right away! We ordered an Eeyore Mule, and an Oskar Lager (they were temporarily out of the Mama Pils which I had wanted). Lunch was a tasty and fresh Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and some of the best Fish & Chips I've seen in awhile! The waitress came to check on us often, food and beer was delicious. She even brought out a half glass of the Mama Pils after it was tapped. Great lunch and one of my favorite spots in Lyons! We stopped in on Sunday to grab a beer and a bite to eat and our experience was great! The place seemed packed and busy, but we got sat right away in the bar with a great view! My husband tried our servers recommendation with the Pilsner (mamas little yellow pils) and he loved it!! I also tried her recommended beer of Old Chub and... WOW!!! A great beer! Thank you Taylor!! So much improvement in the last 18 months. Food quality has gone from a 2/5 to a solid 4/5. Simple menu but all flavorful selections and yummy specials. Service could be a little better, but there's always room for improvement. Staff is friendly, but maybe not as attentive as I'd like. I wish the restaurant would go back to the funky blues joint it had when it opened. It was a restaurant anomaly in Colorado and that's why it was such a hit. Today, when you go in it still has the corporate feel that almost spelled its demise. Bands are coming back to the basement and it's a fun evening again down there.
