With a couple of these breweries popping up over the metro area, we opted to try the one in Lafayette as they have a kitchen and very good food as it turns out. Westword has listed Westbound and Down Mill as a top 100 Bar for 2025. While most would come here for a brew primarily, I am the opposite and went for the food - I had heard a lot of good hype about it - and secondarily, went for the beer. I ordered the turkey sandwich off of their new lunch menu. It was very well crafted, as was the beer. The sandwich though was made with delicious, homemade focaccia bread and came with a side of choice. The turkey, pickled onions, and dijon aioli was very, very good. I added a Westbound Pilsner as well. Tasty, light, and comes in a large mug. The staff were very nice, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable. On a Saturday, there were a lot of people from nearby playing fields that stopped in for a drink and a bite after their games concluded. read more

The prices look pricey, but the amount of food and quality of the ingredients are worth it. The servers are friendly. Orders are placed at the register, but food and beverages are brought to the many table options. The Lonesome Drifter was a rich imperial stout with hints of the Black Maple Hill whiskey barrel it was aged in. The Italian sandwich was full of flavor and piled high. Got there early for pizza pickup as they are often ready a little sooner than online says. Paid for a salad add-on at counter. Sat for 15 minutes while two women employees talked in corner. After a while one woman stopped talking and reached up and grabbed a pizza that had been sitting above oven since I arrived. She asked if I was waiting for a pizza. Beer is decent and let's leave it at that. The tap room had more flies than people in it. The front exterior of the building was littered with puddles of stale beer and brewing waste. Finally, $13 for 5 wings is flat out theft. Highly recommend eating somewhere else. read more

Service was good, the woman who brought out are pizza today was very nice and apologized for the wait she ended up taking the salad off our bill because of how long it took to come out to us. Really good pizza and good beer. I had the 95th street and my fiance had the pizza of the week which was a white pizza with ricotta and potatoes. Both really good and you should try the hatch chile flakes. I've only tried the square detroit style but they also have round hand tossed. I had a juicy caboose ipa and she had an old fashioned, both solid. I also liked the all aboard hazy ipa and fruit squad sour. read more

Pizza and beer - what's not to like? Well, we are not deep dish pizza fans and that is exactly what the "square" pizza is. Too doughy and cheesy for my taste. The beer was fine, my "Colorado" was a little flat, which was pretty disappointing since we are supposedly at the brewery. The menu has a few appetizers, salads and then mainly pizzas (there is a kids menu too). The pizza options are "square" or "round" although they don't distinguish on other differences. It appears that the round might have been a thin crust. Yes, we should have asked but honestly, why not just put that on the menu? Very odd. Not sure we'll be back. Maybe in summer because they have outdoor seating and it's walking distance from my house so we could wander over for a beverage. Probably not though. read more

This place is great! super clean atmosphere with lovely bright tile everywhere. Plenty of TV's around the dining areas for sports and even an outdoor space if you have puppers with you. Great rotating beer selection there as they make it so always something for you to try but if they have it, get the tropical arts hazy ipa. gahh it was so delicious!! They also make suuuuch good pan detroit style pizza here, but i was blown away by these cheesy breadsticks. the side dipping marinara is mouth wateringly good. definitely have to ask for more on that one. read more

Great brewery where Endo used to be located with a nice selection of 18 beers on tap (some of them available in cans to go), even a few wines and delicious pizzas. Square ones are deep dish, round ones regular. When I went with a few friends, I was impressed with the quality of the food, everything looked very fresh and tasty. I enjoyed the Nitro Inherited Wisdom, an English Mild with notes of toffee, dark fruit, coffee and chocolate. My husband had the Italian Pils, a dry-hopped Pilsner that was bright, floral and crisp. We ordered a Detroit style pizza. As Michigan transplants, the bar is set high as we grew up eating the original, Buddy's. Westbound & Down Mill has it dialed in when it comes to this style. The taproom is bright and welcoming. There is a nice outside seating area as well. They have TVs with the latest sports playing. There is plenty of parking. We visited this location just the other day and had the best experience. The staff were so friendly, and the beer selection was great. We always appreciate getting to try a few different styles and although we enjoyed some more than others they all were very enjoyable. Good pizzas, great salads, tasty beer, but they've shanked it on the service side multiple times for me. Hard to recommend at their price point when the service isn't great. The incidents in question, not because you care, but because Yelp reviews are how I process my feelings, like a passive aggressive baby: 1. Ordered to-go pickup online a few months ago, ordered several hours ahead of time, took 30 minutes past pickup time to be ready. These things happen, but an apology or discount would have been cool. Got neither. 2. Ordered dine-in, 35 minutes later the food hadn't arrived, went and ordered a second beer, waited a few more minutes, then asked about the food and they said the order had "only come in a few minutes ago", I told them this wasn't the case; food came out about 1 hour after I ordered it. Once again- systems fail, I get it- but no apology, no acknowledgement that I sat there for an hour while everyone in the restaurante ate their food and left. Truly a bummer- I like the food, (and the indoor ambiance is way better since they added sound dampening panels and rubber feet on the chairs), but until they learn how to recover from their mistakes, I'm just luke warm on the place. read more

We live right down the street, yet somehow we just barely visited this place. Amazing pizza! That's it, that's all you need to know. Seating area isn't huge and each time we've been there it's been pretty busy and full. Maybe they should expand into the vacant spot next door where Smashburger was. We've had various pizza ls there and some of the other apps and they are all super tasty, even as take out. The staff is just great, even though they are busy, they are friendly. Heads up that you order at a counter and get it delivered to your table. You can start a tab for food and drinks, which is handy. They have an extensive drinks menu but I don't drink alcohol so no comment on that but it looks pretty unique and I'll bet it's all pretty great. Anyway, if you haven't stopped in, check it out. Except for tonight I have always had here some of the best pizza I have ever had and top notch service. And even tonight when they did not get my order right, they immediately made it right as soon as they found out they made a mistake. I was surprised by the attitude of the guy who took my order (by phone). He kept repeating back that I wanted 2 pizzas and I kept correcting him that I was ordering only one pizza. Then when I was attempting to give him a clear list of what I wanted on my pizza again he cut me off with an attitude and said he had it. So I trusted him only to find out that in fact he did not get my order right. Anyway, I've ordered pizza here many times with nothing but easy excellent service and delicious pizza, and this time they made it right by just making me another pizza.
