Crispy Chicken & Goat Cheese salad
    Stephany S.

Drove up the street from the bookstore to the PBC in Lafayette and immediately walked into a cute rustic restaurant with exposed ceiling and wooden lights. Our waiter Ryan was personable and friendly. Service was great and prices reasonable. For appetizers we had the devil eggs ( 6 bite size) and I ate the side order of creamy mac and cheese dish. For the main course, I had a huge bowl of crispy chicken and goat cheese salad and my partner had the fish and chips meal. My salad was fresh and delicious and so big that I had to take the leftovers home. So happy to have found this gem!

Everything should have added up- there were a ton of complex flavors between the pepper syrup, the sauce on the sandwich, the hint of rosemary in the breading and the honey mustard, but it just fell flat. The chicken was very, very dry, almost overcooked, they charged $1 for sauce, and our poor server was running tables and the bar, so we had to flag her down for everything. The biscuits were good- like a big dense red lobster cheddar biscuit, but with honey butter. It's a shame because the lore for the place is cute- the original building was a VFW post, so that's why it is called The Post. I really wanted it to be better than it was.

First time dining at The Post and won't be the last. Next time we eat here we will definitely make a reservation. The parking lot is tight and easily gets full early on. Service : 5 stars. Our waitress was super nice and knew we didn't have much time left before happy hour ended when we got there, so she kindly suggested us review the menu and get orders placed before it was to late. The devil eggs, French fries, and wings were so good. The French fries were seasoned perfect and had enough melted cheese on them. The wings were crispy and had a nice flavor with their ranch dressing. I could have ordered another batch, but we had a lot of food coming. The biscuits were a dense, but not in a bad way. They came out warm and the butter melted on contact. I got the 3 piece chicken tender w a side and of Mac and cheese and omg were they good. The tenders weren't greasy and had a nice breading. The Mac n cheese was very creamy and if you add a little hot sauce it takes it to another level. My husband got the chicken pot pie and it was so creamy good. The only thing I wouldn't order again was the cheesy pie. It was good but the size wasn't worth what they charged. Over a great meal and a good place to go with friends to have a beer too.

I came for the Beer and STAYED FOR the CHICKEN! This local Brewery has the best fried chicken! They fry it up with rice flour and a special pressure cooking method. You simply get the crispiest, juiciest taste. Fun place to gather with friends and listen to live music. The service was top notch.

The Post has an awesome vibe as soon as you walk in. Ben was amazing, super friendly, informative, he was spot on with the suggestions. He took such good care of us, I had to get the chicken crispies you never see chicken thigh tenders there were delicious. Everything we ordered was so good. The manager stopped by and chatted with us welcoming us to Colorado. I really enjoyed their in house Permanent Breeze IPA, so much so I brought one home. I can't say enough great things about the post Visiting from Maryland, we'll definitely be back before we leave. My SIL took these great photos.

Had the Howdy Beer to start along with the deviled eggs and rotisserie chicken and crunchy slaw as a side. Eggs were creamy and still maintained the yolk flavor which is rare as some restaurants smother it with mayo. Tasty smoky bacon crumbles were tops. The chicken was flavorful, moist and tender. Do yourself a favor and add the crunchy coleslaw. One of the best I've ever had. Atmosphere is great with a spacious bar for singles like myself. Service was prompt and courteous. A must stop for beer aficionados.

Perfect atmosphere, great beers, but the food was outstanding. This dish was exceptional, with just the right amount of spice and lots of vegetables in a perfectly light orange sauce.

Great food service and ambiance. For ambiance, great location with large indoor and outdoor spaces. I had a toddler in tow, so we sat in a booth. It was comfortable and perfect for her booster seat. High ceilings. Large wood bar. Clean. Colorado industrial meets cabin feel. Foodwise, we had the fried chicken plate. It was absolutely delicious. Some of the best fried chicken I've had in Colorado. They perfected thin crispy skin and juicy meat. I was glad they also carried a sour beer. I had the You Do You and it was so tasty. The manager Rob was helping us. He was kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. All you can ask for with service! He also gave me a free growler of the beer I enjoyed, and samples when we first sat down. Highly recommend and we will be back. I apologize for not having a fried chicken photo -- I had already started eating it and thought wow this is so good I need to yelp it!

OG Post Meatloaf The meatloaf looks sizable from the angle but it was fairly small
    Toni D.

We've been to this location several times and each time the experience is pleasant. It's a fun atmosphere, with great service and good food. This time around we both decided to try something new. The Ribs (a Saturday night special) had good flavor but were a bit dry. It was glazed with their house made sauce, which I found to be pretty good but my husband thought it was too "tangy". The mac n cheese was solid and the coleslaw was simple and refreshing. Next, the beets and sweets. We've gotten this before and it was still delicious! Great for a person that loves veggies and complex flavor profiles. Finally the OG meatloaf. The meatloaf its self was decent, I liked the Tomato sauce and the meat was very tender. However, the piece they gave me was small and they tried to substitute it with a LOT of gravy which I found to be pretty bland. Definitely going back to my usual next time.... Is this place dog friendly?

There is an outdoor area with picnic tables and corn-hole and a fire pit...I would think they would let dogs in there, but I would call to make sure.

Is the outdoor area dog friendly?

Hi! I've never seen dogs there so I assume not! However, Avery Brewing co in Gunbarrel has an awesome patio that is dog friendly. Also, I think the Rayback Collective, also outdoors, is dog friendly :)

I completely don't remember what everyone ordered but I DO remember all the things I tried at the table. Tater Tots - parmesan & chives / house onion sour cream - nothing outstanding about this but the kids/teens/young adults LOVED it and may have inhaled it in one breath. Roasted Cauliflower - saffron cream / chermoula / sumac / miso aioli / crispy onion - the saffron cream was a nice touch of essence and the crispy onion brought a good sweetness and texture to the dish. Honey Bourbon Wings - fried chicken wings / honey bourbon glaze / dill pickles - this was FABULOUS, good fry, not burnt and the glaze was perfect, not ooey gooey sticky, just sticky to the touch. Wild Boar Bucatini - wild boar ragu / cured egg yolk / parmesan / chives - this was my dinner order. I'm always excited when there's bucatini on the menu. It just holds enough sauce in the hollows to satisfy me. The ragu was cooked well, good sauce maybe it needed just a little pinch more of salt for my liking. Parking in the neighborhood is not difficult. We had an airbnb down the street and walked here in less than 5 minutes. There's indoor and outdoor seating as well as a covered patio-ish area. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Lafayette!

I've been wanting to check this spot out after visiting the equally fantastic Birdhouse close by. We came for brunch on a Sunday, and while they are busy, seating is readily available. First, I have to say that the drinks are fantastic. I got the 24 Carrot Magic, a tequila based drink made with carrot juice. It is perfectly balance and dang smooth. A really perfect drink for brunch. I ordered the Grilled Shrimp and Grits and my wife got the special of the day, chicken and biscuit. The portion size is perfect for both dishes. For the Grilled Shrimp and Grits, the shrimp were perfectly cooked, plump, and juicy and the grits were buttery without being too rich and oily, which perfectly complimented the shrimp. The andouille sausage adds a perfect salty bite to the dish, and the fresh greens and crispy noodle rounds out the dish. As for the chicken and biscuit, the dish came out hot and juice. The biscuit is glazed with a jalapeño honey which compliments the dish perfectly. The biscuit has a nice crisp to it but still fluffy and buttery inside, and I think it's one of the better biscuit in the Denver metro area. The chicken is juicy and perfectly seasoned. Overall, 24 Carrot Bistro is a fantastic restaurant. The brunch menu has many attractive options, and I definitely will be back to try dinner. Additionally, as a farm to table restaurant, their menu changes seasonally and by their dishes on Instagram, this is definitely a restaurant I could see myself returning to check out new seasonal menu items.

A friend recommended Acreage, so after a long day in Boulder, hiking and walking around town, we stopped by on a Saturday evening. And honestly, it lived up to the hype and then some. The setting is what really makes this place special. It was busy with what felt like a true local crowd--families, kids, groups of friends--all hanging out. There's a huge outdoor area with picnic table-style seating, plus some indoor space, but the real star is the view. The mountain backdrop is unreal, and the sunset we caught that night was one of those "okay, we could live here" moments. They do take reservations, and I'd highly recommend making one if you're going on a weekend. We loved it so much that we've been back twice since, once while apartment hunting and again after we moved, when we brought family to show them one of the spots that sold us on Denver. For a cider-focused spot, the food seriously overdelivered. The soft pretzels are next level--three per order and perfect for sharing. Everyone gets their own and is happy. The roasted baby carrots were just okay and probably something I'd skip next time. The Jalapeño Caesar with added chicken is really solid, and the winter salad (also with chicken) was a huge portion and great if you want something a bit lighter/greener. The Lafayette cheesesteak sandwich, though, has been the standout for me--top tier. I'm a sucker for a good sandwich and this one absolutely delivered. There are still a few things on the menu I'm looking forward to trying next time. And of course, the cider. I'm not a big beer guy and neither is my girlfriend, so this place is perfect if you're looking for an alternative. I'd definitely recommend doing a flight. They've got a wide range--from fruitier options like blueberry and apricot (crowd favorites) to drier ciders, which I tend to prefer. They also rotate some unique options--recently we tried a salted cucumber cider that was great and quite refreshing. My personal favorite is the Banjo series, which is aged in bourbon barrels. It has a subtle bourbon flavor that makes it super unique and really enjoyable. All in all, Acreage is more than just a cider spot--it's an experience. Between the views, the atmosphere, and the surprisingly great food and drinks, it's become one of our go-to places!
