What a comfortable place to grab an easy and solid steak. We have an office near broomfield and I wanted a non chain place for a good steak and dinner salad. 740 Front came up on my yelp search and I was not disappointed! They have GF clearly marked on the menu, I ordered items that needed no modification. I did not have a reservation as I was by myself both nights so I sat at the high top at the bar. This place seems visited regularly by the locals/regulars and I heard more than one state it was the best happy hour in the area. I ordered the same filet both nights, with a dinner salad to start. I loved the butter lettuce and the herb dressing, it does get soggy quick...be prepared it is not crisp. The steak was cooked how I ordered it, medium, both nights. The second night they did charge me a steak meal that came with spinach and mashed potato ( I did not order and did not want). I did try a bite of the mash and they needed some seasoning. I did not ask for a refund on the items I did not order. Overall, great place. Expect a bit slower service when seated in the bar area. Very nostalgic for the past and take a moment to look up at the unique ceiling fans. read more

The building is vintage and upon walking in you're taken back in time with vintage decor in a large setting. The bar with dark wood and large mirrors makes for a grand statement. There were a good amount of parties upon our arrival at 5:30. I ordered the 45 day dry age ribeye. It was bursting with flavor. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The Old Town Old Fashioned was also quite nice. So nice I had 2 . Get the lemon torte and thank me later. I'm not a sweets guy, but it is a must try. The only minor downside was the service was a bit slow. They were almost at capacity by the time we left around 7:30 which may have contributed to that. Started with lamb pops & a paper plane & espresso martini. Who has lamb chops on their appetizer menu?? YES!! The Paper Plane was ok, but I LOVE the drink so it's hard to get it wrong. The menu was very diverse & I had trouble picking from 3-4 unique options. She had peach & prawn salad. I had linguine & jumbo shrimp. The pasta was cooked & served perfectly. She ate the entire salad (overate). Finished with the lemon curd torte (blue ribbon). We sat on the patio fearing torrential rain the entire time, but alas the storm skirted us. The patio was quiet even though it was full. Quite pleasant! Service was top notch. My family and I have been to 740 Front many times and it never disappoints. The appetizers, particularly the cheese dip, the deviled eggs and the chicken wings are always hot, fresh and delicious. We've never had a bad experience there. When crowded the service can be a little slow, but it's always friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The food itself whether steaks or fish, is never less than perfectly cooked. For special occasions, birthdays or anniversaries it's always our first choice. read more

We needed to have an early dinner and were in the very quant town of Louisville CO so we made a reservation at 740 Front. We had a 5pm reservation but arrived at 4:30 and were able to sit at the bar which was very inviting, for a drink and dinner. The staff was super friendly and the bartender gave us great menu suggestions. We started with drinks, my wife had a Manhattan (they have a great selection of whiskeys) and I had a Melvin IPA, their beer list is solid. On the food side, we had the happy hour Deviled Eggs and they were very tasty then we split a Caesar Salad which was perfect sized for two people. For our main courses we went with the Chilean Seabass and Shrimp Pasta. The seabass was prepared perfectly with a side of grilled asparagus and the shrimp and pasta were done with a delicious garlic butter and white wine sauce. We went on June 5th for a birthday celebration. There were nine of us who had varying types of food requirements (vegetarian, gluten free, diabetic, etc.). We picked 740 Front because of the menu's variety. Everyone ordered something different and everything came out on time, together, and warm. The food was delicious and out of nine people, there were NO complaints! In today's restaurant environment, that is amazing. Everyone complimented the food and the service. The cocktails were excellent. The bar is really fun. Our server was Thea and she was efficient, attentive, nice, and had a sense of humor. We felt welcomed there. It wasn't overly crowded like it can be occasionally, and it wasn't too noisy. In the past, we've had a few questionable meals, but it's clear that 740 Front just upped its game. read more

My prior review gave this restaurant a 5 star. My current review is a 3 star. Why? A sharp increase in prices - OK, I have gotten use to that but it is accompanied by significantly smaller portions. OUCH! The yelp website shows two $$ signs for costs. That is old, very very old news. Today, I would show the cost of food as either $$$ 1/2 or $$$$. A small (very small) dinner salad at or near $10.00 and which contains maybe 2 lettuce leaves + a few cut vegetables is Pricey. What about the food? Sorry to report, not as good as before. Possibly, they have a new chef or having a bad night. The beef short ribs was a small portion, pricey, heavily covered in a brown gravy, over cooked and ordered and finished by an 11 year old girl who ordered from the adult menu. The child who is small and weighs 52 pounds ate lots of French fries and a root beer to fill up once the beef was finished. Ouch, again! Call liquor prices (Grey Goose) for martinis match up to the highest price restaurants in Denver. The ambience is still excellent as was service. If it wasn't for the later, I would have given it 2 stars. I hope they quickly get back to where they use to be because they really had a great formula of very good food, decent size portions, and reasonably fair prices for what you got within a beautiful setting. read more

This place was so good! I came here when I had family visiting the area and almost all of our food was perfect. The Seafood Salad, Bison steak, New York Strip, and Braised Short Rib were all decadent! My only complaint was the member of my party who ordered a burger. It didn't feel like a full half pound and for the price it seemed a little flimsy. The waitress, whose name I didn't catch, was the sweetest ever and made sure my party and I had a good time, constantly joking with us and checking we had everything we needed. We were seated in the basement area, which at first did smell slightly. It was kind of a mildew/musky scent but once our food came, the delicious aromas quickly took over. We celebrated a birthday here. My party loved the oysters even though it's not my favorite. They had great cocktails as well. Courtney was our waitress and she was kind and attentive. I had the New York strip from the fall specials menu with mashed potatoes and ate every bite! everyone loved their food including the surf and turf. for dessert we had pana cota and crem brûlée which were delicious! The decor was fun and interesting. we were there at happy hour but you had to be at the bar to enjoy. the only thing I would have preferred is the steamed spinach they served with the steak dishes was unseasoned and didn't add to the meal. This is a great place to eat in Louisville. I always consult Yelp when I am in a town I've never been to before. It led me to 740 Front and what a great recommendation it was. 740 Front is located in downtown Louisville and takes reservations online. It was once a general store (I think) and has been repurposed into a beautiful restaurant. I love repurposed buildings so this was a plus for me. Service was friendly, prompt, and altogether great. The food was equally great and for a higher end place in Colorado, it was pretty reasonable. I started my meal with a wedge salad. Their version was excellent. You'd think it would be an easy salad to make and you'd be wrong. Plenty of places get it wrong. Not this place. My entree was the prime ribeye with a side of sautéed mushrooms. The mushrooms were rich and garlicky and the steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Came to 740 front for my husbands birthday and everything was so delicious! The atmosphere is very romantic a little loud by the bar area as they play sports through their projector but overall an excellent place with delicious steaks. We ordered the bison ribeye and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare, the flavor was a little sweet as expected from a bison steak it also had an interesting Smokey flavor maybe it had to do with their special butter they put on their steaks, their mashed potatoes was an excellent combination to pair with. We also ordered the prime New York strip and again cooked to perfection, super tender and juicy. The service was overall fantastic, waitress would check up every once in a while and for the first time they actually asked if it was okay to bring the food since we were still eating out appetizer, that to us was a huge bonus! Came to this restaurant with my boyfriend for a date night. The atmosphere is lovely. I like the historic vibes in a quaint building. The decor is a mix of old and new and felt romantic. The food was good but not out of this world amazing. The Spinach and and Cheese dip is more like cheese with spinach and other veggies in it. Was good, but not at all what I was expecting. Plus, it wasn't very hot. I got the Manicotti and my boyfriend got the Meatloaf. Both were good but not the best we've ever had. The staff were all very friendly. We spoke to waitress twice and then asked hostess to help and demanded to be moved. The hostess then told us she got yelled at for moving us?! What?! We demanded to be moved and moved. This was the perfect way to end my Colorado trip. This restaurant has a rich history, and you could really feel it in there! Beautifully decorated and restored - it truly felt like a 1920s saloon. There's even a bullet hole in the bar from the old days! Okay now, onto the food and drinks. No joke, these were some of the best cocktails we had ever tried (and we love a good cocktail). Each one was incredibly flavorful, unique and fresh. I wish I tried every single one!! I'll say my favorite was "that basil drink". Our bartender and server, Scott, was incredibly professional and answered all of our questions before we asked them! He made some great suggestions, we were glad we took his word! The food was outstanding. Prices were reasonable and they were able to accommodate gluten and dairy allergies. I highly recommend the crab cake appetizer - it's a whole meal! I was very clear that if was my wife's birthday and wanted a nice table for the occasion. When we arrived we were taken to corner 2-top, bordered by two 6-tops, one with child. Surprisingly, because we just didn't know about the restaurant and its rich history and unique ambiance. We just wanted a good steak at a reasonable price. I'm glad we chose this restaurant because their food was great, whether you want a steak or something else. Their prices are reasonable, and their service was the best. Our waiter was really helpful on discussing the various dishes and making really good recommendations. And the atmosphere and history was an unexpected pleasure. 740 Front St. has been around for a really long time and I've heard really good things about it but it wasn't until recently that I've actually enjoy the dinner there. It's really a cozy restaurant, I heard that they move the bar from somewhere in Europe, or replicated some thing in Europe many many many years ago it's pretty neat to look at, and it has a Lotta cool history... The service was absolutely impeccable... Not only was our server always Checking in with us. There was also a busser that also major plates were cleared. The food was absolutely stellar. We enjoyed pork and steak dishes that were cooked just perfectly.. my son and his wife enjoyed the artichoke appetizer, and it was also very delicious... Wonderful food, great ambiance, fantastic service. Highly recommend! Filet and lobster tail was outstanding.
