Neither my friend nor I had ever been to this lovely restaurant on the Flatirons Golf Course. We had brunch. My friend had a yummy looking vegetable omelette with what looked like fresh spinach. I had an Eggs Benedict, cooked beautifully. We both had their potatoes which are seasoned well. They have a good selection of non alcoholic beverages. My friend had a fizzy soft drink, I had iced tea. Our server was Elizabeth and she was great! Attentive and respectful. We sat outside on this gorgeous day. What a view of the flatirons! Loved the happy hour here. Not a ton of drink options, but prices on beer and wine were reasonable. We ordered the mussels, brussels, and beet salad. The beet salad was for sure the highlight- tasty beets at the bottom of the plate topped with arugula and fried goat cheese balls. Mussels and brussels were also very tasty. First time visiting Ironwood. The food is good. Inside atmosphere is average, and unfortunately because of the heat that is where we sat. Service was friendly though not particularly tight. I watched our drinks sit on the bar for five+ minutes while our waiter socialized and meandered about. Food came out quickly and was quite good all the way around. My husband and I moved from Boulder to Longmont, Colorado in 1999. Rarely get to Boulder anymore due to various health issues. But took drive up Canyon. Lovely Decided to go to Ironwood for late lunch. Reserved table for two. Got there 3:30 friendly young man with dark hair and beard let us pick a table. Chose outdoor patio overlooking flatirons.. gorgeous Colorado day. We did get too hot in sun, greeter moved us to a table in shade. Tanya, proprietor, greeted us with friendly kindness, took our photographs, and we chatted. This place is unbelievably beautiful set on a majestic, quiet green golf course in the south of Boulder, Colorado my husband and I lived in Boulder 1982 until 199. it is now like a mini vacation for us since we are in our 70s now and partially disabled. Chairs comfortable . Music at that time was reggae, played low so pleasant for having conversations. Some restaurants blast their music so loud, you can't hear what the other people are saying. We love reggae, but don't like loud music. I had a cocktail Husband had play rehearsal, so drank iced tea My drink: Lavender Smoke $14.00. Rosaluna Mescal, Lavender, Fresh Lime, agave This cocktail was absolutely a work of art, and I thought decent price. I got crabcake from starters menu with arugula. Beyond delicious . Husband and I have lived on coasts. Including Maryland and Connecticut. This crab was as fresh as any either of us has had living on the sea shores. Husband had lamb from starters Mediterranean style. he loved it. We decided this is now our birthday anniversary and Christmas Restaurant . We lived in Gold Hill for three years and used to love driving to the Gold Hill Inn for celebrations. But very bumpy, long drive . Haven't been able to find any place we utterly loved until finding Ironwood. We love love love this place!!! We have traveled extensively in our younger years. We have eaten at La Perla in Iceland. Upscale restaurants and pubs in Ireland, Scotland, England. Local foods in Kenya, India, Afghanistan and all over the USA. The service from Drew on 11/30 was the most unprofessional experience I have ever seen in my 15 years of being in the restaurant industry. He made our guest extremely uncomfortable by touching them, offering a strip tease, and literally flat out told our group of 7 people that "We F***** him" repeatedly when we were the ONLY table in the entire restaurant for the entirety of our dining experience because we had separate checks?! He called himself "Mr Thoughtful" for FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS FOR A DAIRY ALLERGY! What planet is this dude on? He up charged on drinks that we didn't ask for and clearly doesn't understand the menu. I.E. - The cucumber gin and tonic is 12.00 - then why are you ringing in $2.00 extra for Hendricks when it's on the menu with Hendricks? The first drink took over 20 minutes to come to our table, he forgot to ring in one our apps, he served ice cold gritty food, and was a disgrace to the hospitality industry. We had dealt with bad service without saying anything up until he came over to us and starting cursing at our guest and yelling at a 24 year old women over splitting a check. The food was absolutely awful, bland, cold and flavorless. All of us had diarrhea that same night. Apparently the only edible dishes were the salmon as that was the only thing finished from our guest. On top of being extremely rude he not once checked on WHY nobody (but the 2 guest) were eating their food and didn't opt for boxes/left their boxes on the table for the guest that we nice enough to still try and spare this awful establishment before he started cursing, yelling, and defaming our group. I would actively NOT recommend anyone go here, ever. We all will be calling the health department and paying a visit to the General Manager, we are in disgust of everything about this place. read more

Missing the Mark ! This is a beautiful Space that has yet to hit it's stride. The menu is varied, perhaps too much so. In trying to offer small to full meals, nothing distinguishes itself. The wine List is good and the Pour is generous. The service was the biggest disappointment. Our waitress took our Order and then disappeared. We had to flag down someone else to finally get served. We sat with our finished dishes in front of us for 20 minutes before they were cleared. During Dinner, a band was setting up and that added to the confusion! Service and food were good I would give them five stars for that. BUT they have the music playing so loud you have to yell across the table to talk to the people you came with. I can understand that if you have a band and dance floor but it's just piped in music. I won't go back. read more

The new restaurant at the golf course is near our office. We have probably eaten here once a week since they opened. I have yet to have a bad meal. The food is top shelf and priced fair. It is most certainly worth a visit. read more

Sunday afternoon, just came back from a wonderful lunch at Ironwood Bar and Grill!! Stopped here for lunch with a girlfriend and we had a great time. The salmon was perfect the views beautiful and the staff was Great. Met the new chef Dave, and he is wonderful. Some great ideas for the developing menus and despite being total full from lunch, he brought out a sample of his bread pudding. Heaven!!! not mushy or super sweet, it finished off a perfect meal. Arielle, the manager was warm and welcoming; I will be back. Big plus is parking is a breeze. No downtown Boulder hassle. read more

I went golfing with a buddy of mine for the first time then had dinner at ironwood last week. My golf game was terrible but my disappointment ended as soon as we sat down and the food arrived. I was blown away at the quality/variety of the food and drinks at the restaurant and how friendly the waitstaff was. The owners visited our table and seemed like they really cared about our experience as well which went a long way with me. Great staff with a nice open space and a great hidden patio for a sunset dinner. Seems like it'd be great especially for hosting an event or company party. We've been back twice for the bolognese gnocchi and the buffalo wings were genuinely some of the best I've come across in town. read more

we wanted to try this for some time, and couldn't have been more disappointed. we arrived on time for our 6pm reservation. the man who greeted us immediately told us the cook was ill and they were doing happy hour all evening. he didn't ask if we wanted to reschedule, and i actually thought he was kidding. we should have left when the waitress told us 3 (of about 8) of the appetizers were out. we instead stayed and ordered most of the remaining appetizers. if the quality of the appetizers was any indication, i have no desire to try anything else. it would have tempered our disappointment had the manager offered a free round of drinks, but he did not. the next day i received a text telling me my reservation for the night before was cancelled. huh?!! medicare food and bad management. i'm NOT going back. read more
