Came here because it is very close to the boulder theater. This restaurant is located in a hotel which is lovely. It was pretty busy but the food came out rather quickly. Unfortunately, the food was ehh.. the clam chowder soup was lukewarm but the calamari was delicious. They definitely need a few more people behind the bar because drinks were coming out super slowly. Overall decent experience. I loved that they were able to split up all the checks. I would be happy to come back when I wasn't on a time crunch to get the full experience :) Overall, 3.5/5 stars. read more

It was a great run, but the new owners have brought it to an end. For literally decades, the Corner Bar was one of the only places in Boulder that had a good menu until nearly midnight. It was the go-to place to get some dinner after seeing live music or whatever and you didn't feel like going home and cooking. They used to have some great signature dishes like the mustard crusted salmon salad, or a delicious grilled three cheese sandwich, among other really good and unique fare. No more. We would run across some notable visitors to Boulder there because of its reputation for late good food. The place really was a Boulder institution, but it's over. They have reverted to a late menu that's typical bar food, missing all the good stuff that made it special. Kind of sad, really. We'll miss it. read more

Before catching Nikki Glazer at the Boulder Theater, my husband and I stopped in for a little bite and NA happy hour. We opted for a table outside, as the temperature was perfect to kick off the evening. Although we encountered a little rain throughout our visit, the umbrella managed to keep us both dry and cozy. Our server greeted us with a friendly smile, despite being busy and having the entire patio to himself. Happy hour pricing continues on the weekends, so each appetizer is under $10! We opted for an order of the firecracker wings and truffle fries which was the perfect bite before our show and dinner later. Had lunch here a few weeks ago while vacationing. It was amazing! All on my party loved their food options which were salads, burgers, and a kids meal. My salad however, was to die for! It consisted of arugula, cherries, chicken, Brie cheese, some fennel, and maybe a few other ingredients I'm forgetting, but it was topped with a honey poppyseed dressing. Absolute perfection! I've recreated it several times since I've been home it was that good! This is also located inside a hotel, which is so beautiful and decadent! A wonderful experience and very attentive staff. If I could give a sliding scale of how this place used to be vs post-Hilton takeover; I would go from 3.5 to negative 100. I used to love coming here with my hot ass wife, and drink the absolute shit out of truffle martinis with copious amounts of oysters. Now..... you get cold, dumpster scrap food with a heaping pile of mediocrity sewn into the very doughy calamari you will be ingesting (with no martinis, they took them off the menu). Apparently fucking Hilton can't afford truffle salt, so we should all just give up cause the American economy is clearly failing with this establishment as the billboard of shit. I went there regularly so do not take my opinion with a grain of salt. Once the buy out happened when another boulder business sold out to corporate butt cheeks, I went to give it a chance. I've never once sent food back but this was the first time. My hot ass wife with no oysters and a martini with mostly only vermouth that tasted like licking the pavement littered with pine trees, was given the coldest, unfortunate plate of pasta that was reheated in the microwave after the first send back. My dad and I both got steak sandwiches which were chewy, overdone, sad, and stripped of any life and flavor. Can't remember what my mom got but it was also sent back. My gut biome was rearranged by that meaty roadkill steak. Fast forward a year. I went two days ago with my hotass wife because we wanted simple fried bar food. Ordered a hot chicken sandwich, calamari, truffle fries and a bri pastry appetizer. Calamari, old, dry, over-fried, with Costco Asian-sweet chili sauce in a cup. For 14$. Pastry was straight fucked. It was less than a Starbucks pastry. Cold, thick, no drip, caked with sadness and some poor attempt at onion jam. Chicken sandwich was quite good flavor wise, but it was maybe sitting there for 15 minutes before the waiter decided to grab it from the heating lamp. Cold, dry buns, sad. My hot ass wife wouldn't admit it but she almost cried. I was just getting over a 2-week cold and wanted to take her out to celebrate her raise. We didn't want fancy til I felt good enough to spend the money, so we went for "elevated bar food". More like de-escalated bar food. Just completely diminished dog food. I feed my dog pretty much anything and I wouldn't give her that food. Martini was okay though. Just no fucking truffle salt. read more

Stopped in yesterday for drinks, it was my birthday and we were out and about in Boulder, a rare occurrence, and I remembered the great drinks we had prior. Apparently they recently changed their drink menu. Which is ok, but the ones we got this time weren't near as good. Service was also fairly poor. I get we just ordered drinks (we had already had lunch elsewhere) but we still spent $40, I would expect to not have empty glasses on the table for 10 minutes and have to wave down a server. read more

The corner bar is situated in a lovely historic hotel Boulderado! Complete with 1905 elevator, cash register and original front desk! We stopped in for a drink and a bite to eat. There was live music that was really loud but awesome! I ordered a cocktail that I can't pronounce. It was nice and smooth with a hint of strawberry. I also ordered the cauliflower and Brussels sprouts appetizer and prime rib sliders. The veggies were delicious and surprisingly the sweet chili sauce paired perfectly with it! I see "Open until 12am" and I'm not sure what to expect. Sure, the hotel is adorable, I wouldn't have chosen it if it wasn't, but the hours allowed for the bar leave me unsure as to what to expect. A quick perusal of the pictures attached to the Corner Bar's Apple Maps location show a few dishes that inspire confidence so I try a burger and find a burger, a real burger heaped with real pineapple and real cheese and really undercut with real peppers. All of this sandwiched by what I can only assume was a very real bun - at some point I lost track of everything other than the burger, cheese, pineapple and overall realness. Good business. Truffle fries very worth the upgrade. Good food and good service and good fun. My only regret is that I'm not staying here for a longer time to eat more food here - but the aforementioned adorableness of the Boulderado, food here, and what I expect will be an excellent brunch in the morning will have me back soon. read more

We chose the outdoor seating at this historical hotel restaurant. We had our dog with us: he was welcomed and the hostess brought a bowl of water for him. Elliot was our server and he was friendly and professional. His recommendations were spot on! We had the chicken waffle sliders and the Paillard chicken! Chicken sliders were more of a donut base, than a thin waffle, but not disappointing at all! The raspberry drizzle over the Popcorn type chicken on top was so tasty! A wonderful balance of flavors. The Paillard chicken was pounded thin, yet thick enough to be juicy. The lemon dill sauce over the arugula was so delicious! We highly recommend this Boulder gem! read more

We ended up ordering a lot more than I expected. The oysters were SO delicious and fresh. I could eat those all day. My fiancé and I ordered different soups, and I loved how flavorful my clam chowder was. However I think my fiancé fell harder in love with his butternut squash soup. Up to this evening, he is still talking about how tasty it was and this dinner happened last night! I'm starting to get a little jealous of that soup ha ha. We also ordered the Santa Fe chicken salad and asked to split the salad into 2 plates, but the portion was HUGE it was as if we ordered a full size on our own! At this point I was so full from my soup and oysters, I only took a few bites of the salad. I enjoyed those few bites though! The better half and I had our travel's take us to Boulder, CO! It was a little late so We had limited choices. We came across a nice cozy bar with indoor and outdoor dining. Upon entering, we were immediately seated and the server was very helpful with recommendations. I got the Balsamic Chicken and she got the Leg of Lamb Sandwich. The balsamic chicken was very tasty! Only complaint is I had, was I felt for the $20 plus price tags it was barely 4oz. Her leg of lamb sandwich had a real nice flavor too it. The lamb tasted delicious, along with the toppings. One complaint, the bread used for the bun was HARD. She ended up eating it as an open faced sandwich. Overall, the food was tasty. Although for the price, we felt my portion was small and her sandwich's bun was hard. If it's late and places are limited, check The Corner Bar out. As frequent-ers to the Corner Bar, and one I continuously update my reviews for... it pains me to say our Mother's Day dinner was pretty disappointing. My husband's Prime Rib was straight up cold. It was rough and full of sinew. And once again, the staffing was not enough for a holiday. I don't really understand why this place isn't staffed properly, especially on busy days. We stay at the Boulderado a few times a year and always hit Corner Bar before and after our nights out, but have decided we'll probably just stick to cocktails and appetizers from now on. For the amount of money we put out for a holiday dinner, it was not worth it :-( read more

None of us enjoyed our meals - when I asked everyone to give their assessments all they said was not good and over cooked - personally I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was so over cooked i couldn't eat it AND I don't usually mind well done food - so it had to be pretty darn over cooked. The prices on the menu did not reflect the price on my bill. The server said it's because they just don't have it written on there. Really? I liked the place overall (2 guys for dinner) Pros - Great atmosphere (quiet) - mostly family or old couples - friendly servers - alcohol was actually quite cheap (beer and cocktails) for a bar (sub 10) - gravy and vegetables were great Cons - Fried chicken was the specialty but it was less than average. Would not recommend. The potatos and vegetables tasted great though. - Fried fish wasn't very fresh. However, to do the restaurant justice, I am very picky about fried foods and fish in general. This place was just an average restaurant for both and I don't have high expectations on these for most places in the US. Therefore, for most people it would be a great place. Ate lunch here after hiking. Walking around downtown Boulder, it looked a like fun place and had nice seating right along the road. The service was good, friendly and prompt. We had a variety of their beers on tap and one cider- they were all good and a little unique- very enjoyable! The salmon sandwich, burger and prime rib sandwich were all great and you could get a variety of sides- including the truffle fries for no extra charge. The Brussels sprouts and cauliflower was a great app - the chicken wings were average- nothing to remarkably good. The restaurant is part of the Boulderado hotel and sits right next to it. This was a good lunch but nothing that really wowed us- still good if you are looking for a meal or a quick drink. read more

This was our first lunch stop on our arrival to Boulder. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was a beautiful day and outside seating was not available. We close to eat inside and enjoyed the historic feel of the bar and hotel area. They offer a regular and special lunch menu. My husband ordered the Bison Reuben and it was great. I ordered the Summer Trout. The portion was small but it was very tasty. I am allergic to walnuts so they were accommodating and substituted wild rice for the walnut pilaf. Service was a bit slow but our server was hustling trying her best to cover all of her tables. Be sure to check out the hotel lobby! read more

It took over an hour to get our food. Unfortunately, this has been our experience the 3 or so times we have gone to The Corner Bar. Hotel Boulderado's other restaurant, Spruce Fish and Farm, we went to last year for a birthday brunch and it was a 3 hour ordeal. Food took close to 2 hours to arrive at the table. We took our out-of-state guests here last night for an early dinner before they headed back to the mid-west. The menu has great options for vegetarian, non-vegetarian, comfort or standard bar fare and then also some not so traditional bar food which was perfect! My husband ordered the Bison Reuben and would definitely get it again. I had the salmon sandwich with some reservation about the onion marmalade, and I shouldn't have doubted! It was delicious and the balance of flavors was perfect. Our guests enjoyed the fish and chips and were delighted with the truffle fries (this is one of my husband and my favorite things here). I am a guest at the Hotel Boulderado. The staff was wonderful. The food was NOT. I went to the corner bar specifically for the mushroom toasts which The Spruce does not have on their menu. (They share a kitchen.) Three of the four toasts were BURNT beyond eating so I picked the mushrooms off and left the bread. I also ordered a side Cesar and while it had an abundance of Parmesan (shaved and grated!), it came with no dressing at all. I was thankful it had a lemon on the side so I could dress it with something. My waiter Bruce was very busy with the lunch crowd (so was the delightful woman working the shift with him) and I didn't want to bother them to complain. Definitely come for the hotel but skip the food. read more
