Paneer wrap
Mara B.

I have been waiting for Luminous to open after meeting one of the guys at the Louisville Farmers Market. I would often grab a chai tea to drink while walking around the market. Their shop is in downtown Longmont and as soon as you walk in there are tables and tea along the walls. There are so many options. My friend and I tried the paneer wrap and it was so good! I really enjoyed it! We were told the samosas are a bit spicy so we didn't try though, but I would love to go back and try it. I got the chocolate strawberry tea with oat milk there. It was very fragrant. I bought some chocolate raspberry to take home though. It was so much fun!

Tea service for two

I'm happy Longmont has this tea house. It's not a fancy place for afternoon tea but more of an approachable laid back casual location. They offer tea and coffee along with pastries and a few other bites. You can also buy loose leaf teas to brew at home. The two best things about this spot are the tea and the cute porcelain tea sets. Luminous has tea options for whatever mood you're in - classic earl Grey, moody butterfly pea, tasty fruity or herbals, spicy chais, and more! The tea sets included tea pots, cups, and saucers decorated with flowers, birds, and butterflies. The space has several 2 and 4 top tables, one pair of arm chairs, and a couple bar height seating areas. You order at the counter and your order will be brought out to you. I'd recommend having sugar at tables so you don't have to worry about it. I did request sugar but it was not brought out. The ambiance was ok. The space was very bright and modern aside from the holiday themed table cloths. Some light instrumental music would be nice. I'm sure the space will evolve once they are more established as they seem to be waiting on permanent signage. Parking in downtown Longmont is mostly 2 hour street parking so keep that in mind if you are driving. I'll definitely return and try more teas.

Scone & tea

BEST. SCONE. I'VE. EVER. HAD! Moist, delicious. Earl Grey Lavender - fabulous. Cucumber sandwich a little too salt, but still VERY good. Go. It's worth every penny. Excellent service. Cutesy decorations.

We originally planned to stay for happy hour, but ended up spending nearly three hours there because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Social is one of those rare places that completely lives up to the hype. From the moment you walk downstairs, the atmosphere transports you to another era. The speakeasy vibe is authentic without feeling gimmicky, and every detail has clearly been thoughtfully designed. It's a super cool speakeasy with a warm, inviting interior that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. We shared the charcuterie board, which was excellent, and enjoyed both the champagne and the bourbon. Everything was high quality and thoughtfully prepared. Ryan, our bartender, really made the experience special. He treated us exceptionally well, made us feel genuinely welcome, and provided outstanding service throughout the evening. What started as a plan to enjoy happy hour turned into one of the most enjoyable evenings we've had in a long time. It's the perfect place for a date night or simply a relaxing evening with exceptional food, outstanding cocktails, and an atmosphere that's second to none. We'll definitely be back now that we live here in Fort Collins. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience in Fort Collins, Social is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended!

The first thing is that the place was about 2/3 full and they seem pretty well staffed in the front of the house. There were 2-3 bartenders behind the bar at all times. After we ordered (2 cups of lobster bisque and bread), our server apologized and told us there was a large party in their private room and the chef was having a hard time keeping up. I can't imagine they normally only have one person preparing all of the food on a normal Saturday evening! It took no less than 45 minutes from when we ordered to get our food. Some olives or something would have been nice. My mom also had to wait 15 mins for her 2nd glass of wine. I'll tell you, we weren't going to order anything else after that! There was some really nice classical guitar music by a live musician. I tipped him on our way out. After we left, we noticed a $5 entertainment charge! Is this a norm in Colorado? I would think we would be informed upon entering if there's a cover fee or an additional charge. I would have been happy to pay it, but we should have been informed.

There were about 12 people inside watching Phantom when we got there and we received waves and compliments from several. I do believe one of the co-owners was the one who helped us at the bar and we were offered free samples. I ended up getting their Halloween special which was their spiced mead made blue with spirulina called the Draugr and my spouse got their oak barrel aged mead. We watched part of Phantom and part of Nosferatu before we left around 9pm because it was getting late. We had a great time and the atmosphere was really chill. We hope to be back soon. It was seriously some of the best mead I've ever had and I'm mead spoiled.

The location is nice, it's is not particularly big but when we went it was comfortable and we found a seat easily. They have an outdoor patio that I did not photograph because it was dark. They have a tasting room and a little gift area. They showcase local art on the walls and have several games and toys for little ones to play with. They offer their own mead, meads and ciders from all over, non alcoholic drinks, wines, and an assortment of cocktails. They also offer pub snacks which we got the meat and cheese plate and giant pretzel. My 1.5 year old thoroughly enjoyed both and we were hungry so I forgot to photograph it lol. The mead was wonderful. They offer flights and my partner and I both had one. He got the warrior and I got the sweet as well as a DIY flight. The flights were very reasonably priced at 9$ for a flight of 3 which were decent sizes. The traditional was a nice easy mead, sweet but not overbearingly so. My partner really enjoyed the Ragnarboar which was raspberry infused. I loved the Oderir and would drink that warm in the fall. It was a great experience, our 1.5 year old was welcomed with us, loved the toys and the snacks and I was pleased to know and use the changing table in the bathroom. We will definitely be back. Can't wait for warmer months when the patio is opened.

BRUTØ Denver: A Culinary Love Letter to Innovation, Craft, and a Little Bit of Magic - WORTH EVERY…read morePENNY. Denver's dining scene is no stranger to ambition, but BRUTØ stands comfortably in a category all its own. Nestled in the Dairy Block, this intimate tasting-menu experience is not simply dinner; it is culinary storytelling presented course by course, with equal parts precision, creativity, and heart. From the moment the first canapé arrives, it becomes clear that BRUTØ is less interested in following trends and more committed to creating an experience. The menu dances between the familiar and the unexpected, transforming ingredients into something that feels simultaneously rooted and revolutionary. A simple corn tortilla becomes an exploration of nixtamalization and grain preservation. Guava, papaya, cacao, plantains, and yucca are elevated into sophisticated compositions that celebrate the rich culinary traditions of Central and South America while pushing firmly into modern gastronomy. One of the evening's greatest accomplishments is its balance. Technical excellence is everywhere: fermentation, dry aging, creative preservation techniques, but never at the expense of flavor. Every dish serves a purpose. Every ingredient has a voice. The Guanabana and Caviar course is a standout example. What could easily become an exercise in luxury instead becomes a lesson in restraint, with the bright tropical notes of charred guanabana and avocado mousse allowing the caviar to shine without overpowering the palate. Equally memorable is the Barramundi preparation, where fermentation and careful preservation create layers of complexity that unfold with each bite. It is thoughtful cooking that rewards attention. The Beef and Yucca course may be the menu's emotional centerpiece. A beautifully aged strip loin paired with silky yucca purée demonstrates that modern cuisine does not need to abandon comfort. The dish is both intellectually interesting and deeply satisfying; a rare achievement. And then there is dessert. The Chocolate and Papaya finale delivers a masterful combination of fermented cacao, coffee, spice, and tropical fruit. Rather than ending the evening with sweetness alone, it concludes the narrative of the menu, leaving guests with one final reminder that BRUTØ excels at creating harmony from contrasts. It may bring a tear to your eye. What makes BRUTØ truly exceptional, however, is not simply the food. It is the philosophy behind it. Sustainability is woven into every aspect of the experience. Preservation techniques are not gimmicks but purposeful tools that minimize waste and maximize flavor. The restaurant's commitment to utilizing ingredients thoughtfully creates a dining experience that feels both modern and responsible. The beverage pairings deserve special recognition as well. Rather than playing a supporting role, they function as co-authors of the meal. Each pairing is intentional, often introducing guests to surprising combinations that amplify the story being told on the plate. Perhaps most exciting is the energy currently radiating from the kitchen. Great restaurants are living, breathing entities, and BRUTØ feels as though it is entering an exciting new chapter. There is fresh creativity, renewed momentum, and an unmistakable confidence emerging from the culinary team. If this trajectory continues, and based on this experience, there is every reason to believe it will, Denver may very well be witnessing the evolution of a restaurant poised for even greater recognition. In an era where many tasting menus can feel performative or overly precious, BRUTØ remains refreshingly authentic. It is professional without being pretentious, innovative without being inaccessible, and ambitious without losing sight of why people gather around a table in the first place: to be delighted. Dining at BRUTØ is not simply a meal. It is a journey through craft, culture, and imagination. A beautifully orchestrated evening that lingers long after the final course.

The kitchen, 18-seat dining area and foyer are all one open, neo-industrial space in which concrete and steel are somewhat softened by lighting and splashes of color from food or dishware. They have two groups of seating per evening, one around 5pm and the other at 8pm, which they stagger into 3 groups each so food can be batched and presented appropriately. Everything is thoughtfully curated and choreographed, from the beverage selection to the portions of the plating that you get to see between courses. But the choreography does feel a bit stiff and cold at times. While the maitre'd was lovely, it was harder to engage with the other staff. I generally avoid alcohol pairings (my taste buds get overstimulated after the first few rounds), but I did enjoy my cocktail from the a la carte menu. Through our 7 course tasting menu, we explored a fun fusion of local and Central American cuisines. The bread mentioned in previous reviews is gone, but we traveled from ocean, plains, and forest in various presentations of small plates. Some of the bites seemed less inspired (of course adding pate and caviar is going to feel fancy), but other courses like the red snapper ceviche and chocolate + papaya dessert were playful, tart, and funky. You can tell that sustainability is also a huge part of the consciousness here. Be open minded to different flavor and texture profiles and know that not every dish is meant to please everyone. We ended our meal with a copy of the evening's menu as well as a satchet of house-made spices meant to evoke the essence of this Costa Rican fusion. I appreciated the effort that went into each course's preparation, but I don't know that I would pay for another experience even with a different menu.
