This was my first and likely last visit! I ordered a 20oz cold brew with toffee nut syrup and room for cream. The coffee was so acidic and bitter that 2 packets of sugar and extra cream could not touch it. (Also the toffee nut syrup was nonexistent and the cream was definitely thinned out with milk. But these things are not the reason for this review.) I took it to the counter to explain the issue and was told that they "cold brew" their cold brew coffee and likely I've not experienced that method before and simply don't understand what to expect. If I wanted something different they would have to charge me for whatever I would order. Such poor customer service. The person I spoke to could not have cared less about my experience! I have had cold brew coffee many times. I've even made cold brew. This was not good cold brew! Likely it was over-extracted/wrong grind, etc. Taste your product people and give your customers some consideration - that makes or breaks a business!!! read more

I wish I had remembered to take a picture of the grilled cheese! Red Frog is a coffee place, but they also have yummy items for breakfast and lunch. They didn't just offer one grilled cheese option - they offered 2! They also have BLT's, chicken salad, turkey sandwiches, smoothies, bagels and baked goods. I really appreciate that Red Frog goes above and beyond the traditional coffee place and offers more varied choices than just a breakfast burrito. I ordered a chai (it came in traditional, spicy and herbal) and it was delicious. My friend ordered a matcha and said it was served just like she likes it. I like that the coffee is locally roasted in Boulder. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor part of Red Frog is cozy and comfortable. The people who work there are very friendly. There is a large free parking lot in front of the shop. This is a wonderful stand alone local coffee shop. Being in the area my gf and I decided to find some pour overs since I'm picky and can't face regular drip anymore lol. We drove around and finally found this joint with the help of Yelp. The shop was clean and many precautions looked to be in place such as masks being required, social distancing, hand sani etc etc. Which I found to add to a pleasant overall experience. Now let's get to the good part. The review of the items we ordered today. So, just to reiterate for readers if this post and the owner, I'm very picky with my coffees and the tastes so obviously we all know this is opinion based. The pour over was good. Not bad. Not great. Just good. Can't say it was anything that stood out to me but also not something I wouldn't come back for. I went with their Ethiopian blend which I'm sure isn't everyone's choice but it is my go to choice anywhere and I criticize tough based of Ethiopian blends. It was fruity and bitter how I like but felt it was just short of being perfect. Could've been the water, the amount of heat not sure but either way it was still an amazing cup of pour over and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it. My gf went with the egg nog latte which she enjoyed very much. She mentioned it wasn't entirely overpowered by the syrup which she enjoyed. I took a sip and actually enjoyed it myself. It's tough for me to drink anything with creamer and flavors but this one was actually quite nice. I live egg Nog to a certain extent but thankfully this latte wasn't overpowered by the egg nog. The baristas were extremely friendly and welcoming so that made the experience a 10/10. Just want to point out that the 4 star rating is because I'm a hard person to please when it comes to pour overs but honestly the place and their items are still a 5 star. Stopped into Red Frog Coffee one morning - I wanted to try something local and non-Starbucks. Ordered their version of a cold brew. Their cold brew is rather light - both in coloration and flavor-wise. I would prefer a darker, stronger, richer cold brew. This one looked like a glass of iced tea before I added the Half n' Half. Such a cozy space! It is decorated for the holidays and has gorgeous pothos plants throughout the space. The staff is super sweet and very helpful. A cozy little nook of a coffee shop for snuggling a book or catching up with folks over coffee? This is probably THE place for it in Longmont. (I say "probably" because I still have to explore Longmont a bit more, despite regularly visiting my mother-in-law up here.) Red Frog Coffee has an assortment of tables in different sizes, whether you want to go there just to get some work done or you're meeting up with friends. There's also a corner with very comfy-looking leather couches to curl up with a good book that you can bring with you or borrow from the bookshare shelf at Red Frog. Speaking of which, they have a decent selection of books, including ones from *drumroll* ... The Baby-Sitters Club! Yes, literary gold, at least according the grade school version of me. What a way to wax nostalgia. While the ambiance captures the essence of a neighborhood coffee shop, the coffee itself is a bit of a miss. We ordered two lattes, and man....talk about watery. The taste was smooth and a bit buttery-sweet, but the consistency was thin. Either someone used too much water in making the shots, or they accidentally used skim milk instead of whole milk. My friend and I had some time to waste, so we decided to drive down the street to this cute little coffee shop. They have indoor and outdoor seating available currently during Covid. I ordered a iced decaf honey latte and my friend ordered their iced chai. The coffee wasn't burnt or too acidic, it actually had a pretty good balance, especially for decaf. My friend REALLY liked her chai. She wasn't expecting to enjoy her drink so much, but we both were pleasantly surprised by this little shop. It definitely wasn't bland. The husband had the regular chai which was also good. I preferred mine slightly but both were solid. I like this place for several reasons :1) This coffee shop has a cute little dog-friendly patio. So bring your pups! (and frogs, monkeys, and cats too LOL!) 2) They also have some leather couches inside in the back which would be great for a small group get together. 3)There is free wifi -so bring your computer if you choose. 4) Friendly staff that seems to know everyone 5) Laid back, casual atmosphere - so it is nice & relaxing 6) They have 3 types of wine available-- one white and two reds. That was also a nice bonus for a coffee shop to have wine. 7) Now for the best part: there is gluten-free bread available for your sandwiches -- a huge plus for me! But it is in a shopping center area, so don't expect views. I had a breakfast "bagel" sandwich on gluten free bread. It was pretty good but it was on bread instead of a bagel. Nice local coffee shop that is very homey and has the heart of locals. I came in to do some studying one day and wanted something similar to the green tea latte I usually get from the big time coffee chain in which I shamelessly frequent. The kind lady suggested a tea steamer which didn't really make the cut. It ordered it with almond milk and it was just not "potent" enough and tasted on the diluted side because of its overall makeup. The tea bag didn't do this steamer justice like the actual matcha powder used at the bux. I will say that they do have an amazing selection of tea for your steeping pleasure. I wasn't really impressed for my very first visit but I am hopeful. I came in while the liquor license inspector was there so beer & wine seems to be in their future. I would love to come back and give their other teas a shot and soak up the atmosphere rather then trying to cram for my finals. I'll be back! read more

Great little spot in Longmont, Colorado. Solid choices and friendly staff. Ample parking and fairly easy to find. It's located on the end of a strip mall within a large shopping complex. The only reason this isn't a five star in my opinion is that the whole establishment is smaller than my living room. It's just too small and every table was taken. You know that awkward stand around and wait for an open chair feeling? Yea, that was my Saturday morning. The three of us just stood there and considered our options, which were either leave or wait. Anyway, great spot. Just wish it was bigger by at least double their current footprint. read more
