I just recently spent a long weekend in Longmont to visit my bff who moved from FL (you are lucky I let you have her, Colorado). We stopped in to Red Frog Coffee a few times and I fell in love. Cute place with a bookshelf that has games and books to keep you entertained. I walk up to the register and see specials like lavender coffee adorned on the board, which tempted me, but the mexican mocha (a regular item on their menu) won out my vote. It was simply amazing with its warming cinnamony chocolate flavor. It was bliss in my mouth and now I need to find a cafe in South FL that can attempt to replicate it. They also sell pastries and some food items. They do have day old pastries for sale cheaper up at the register. Also, they had some really interesting chai concentrates I have never seen in FL before that I desperately wanted to buy.. damn those 3oz liquid limits for carry on bags! This will be a forced stop on my bff every time I come to town and visit now.. I can still taste your delciousness, mexican mocha.. I wish we could be reunited sooner! read more

After a bit of an hiatus, came back today for a turkey sandwich. It's great to see the Red Frog as good as ever. My sandwich was delicious, the atmosphere was very relaxing for a Saturday afternoon and the service very friendly and helpful. They've expanded the menu and support local artists. It's a cute coffee shop, there is plants around, cute painted tables. The service is slower but that's just the vibe here, the coffee is pretty good! They have a wide variety of seats, so if you have to, go alone! Go with friends, they have so many drink options, it is overall so cute and aesthetic. Possibly even Instagram worthy. This coffee shop is decent. The coffee isn't too expensive, but the quality isn't the best. Some days, the coffee is phenomenal, but other days, the espresso tastes burnt. And the staff that works there is pretty hit and miss too- sometimes you'll meet a very nice staff member, and other times it seems as if they are miserable. The iced Americana I had was great; served in a reusable mason jar. They have a pay it forward coffee deal where you can either receive a free coffee no questions asked, or buy one for someone. Ok, I have to fess up, I am a regular here, and there is good reason for that. I am a bit worried about posting this review as I kind of like it when it is sleepy and quiet. All the disclaimers and caveats being disposed of, time to get into the review. The Espresso is flavorful, rich and always presents with a wonderful head of creama. The coffee based beverages are of generous portions and very reasonably priced. The staff is friendly, engaged and acknowledge your presence, even when they are deep in the weeds with taking care of orders. All in all, great coffee, personable and attentive staff and fair prices, what more could one ask for? Wine, beer, food, guess what they have that all as well! read more

This coffee is as good as it gets. I owned a coffee shop for 10 years and we had some good coffee man, but I would almost say this place has better. I read the other reviews and the only reason this place doesn't consistently get 5 stars is because of the wait & parking (it's not a drive-thru). I say leave 5 mins earlier for work and stop here because its worth it! I say park, and walk a little....after all this is Colorado people, one of the best states to live in! Take a deep breath and enjoy the mountain air along with the best cup of jo ever!!!! One more thing, I have been going here since this place opened. Oh and bye bye Starbucks (good riddance!!!!) which was here before the Frog. I was in the area from out of town and stopped by after a meeting in Longmont and was pleasantly surprised. I had a mocha coffee which was awesome, atmosphere warm and inviting and the staff was terrific. They have some outdoor sitting areas that are perfect for work or conversation. I loved it so much I spent 3 hours there the next day after another meeting. I even asked the owner Emily for their play list as it was outstanding. And by the way, there are some baskets on the wall that are for sale. They help support some local business and tradesman from a third-world country. Honestly one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to! Red Frog has the ideal combination of friendly baristas, great coffee & food, and a comfortable spot to relax and get some work done. You can tell by the way that Emily, one of the owners, talks to customers that she genuinely cares about people - she was super kind with everyone I saw her interact with. I stopped by for coffee and a breakfast sandwich while I waited for my car to be serviced down the street, and I ended up staying most of the day to get some work done. I had an Americano and a "true" macchiato. I don't like to sweeten my coffee, so the quality of the roast is what matters most, and Red Frog definitely didn't disappoint. The breakfast bagel sandwich with sausage and uptown grilled cheese were also excellent. I hope to be back sooner rather than later! read more

Wasn't sure what to expect as this used to be a Starbucks. They totally transformed the store. It's the most comfortable coffee shop in town and you'll want to hang out for a while. I'm always looking for a good hang-out, since I like to work in cafes. But something about this place seemed very 'suburban strip mall'; the music was super mainstream (Beatles, 'Hotel California', etc), the decor is excruciatingly 'middle-of-the-road'. Complain, complain, complain. If anything, it made me work harder because it put me in mind of how dull Colorado can be... this cafe screams 'midwestern nice'; the patrons chirp about pilates and their latest home renovation, 'Those shoes are soooo nice!'. Etc. I'm thinking I need to head for one coast of the other; where things are a little less 'nice'. So head-down, I got a lot done here... inspiring! Must raise funds to get the hell out of Dodge! The coffee is fine, but at $3.25 for a medium iced Joe, it seems a bit much. read more

Dropped by for some tea on national coffee day. Located inside an outdoor shopping mall, very unassuming place with a decent food selection, awesome coffee selections and quite a lot of tea variety. Nice quite place to sit and have a morning beverage, although I seem to remember signs they had evening hang outs with wine and beer as well. read more

They have a good selection of beverages and food items, definitely something for everyone. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is inviting. It feels like a neighborhood coffee shop rather than a cookie-cutter Starbucks, which I love. They make the drinks quickly, even if a line has developed. A great place to grab a drink on the way to work or to sit and be. They are working hard to become more sustainable with composting and recycling on site which is awesome. They are also getting involved in community events which is something that major coffee shops fail to do. Support a great local business! read more

The good: - Red Frog carries my favorite coffee (Consciuous Coffee, from Boulder). Its delicious! - They also carry my favorite brand of chai, Sanctuary Chai (who has a favorite brand of chai? This is what happens when I live around Boulder, I guess). Their traditional chai is SO good. - They freeze toddy coffee into ice cubes, so my iced drinks don't get watered down as they melt. - Super frog themed, which is cute. Lots of little sculptures and paintings. The annoying: - Weird parking/location. Now that I know its there, its easy to find...but its kind of an odd location. Its right off of Ken Pratt Blvd, on the way East out of town. - As others have said, service can be s-l-o-o-o-w. I usually don't mind waiting, but I avoid stopping by if I am on my way somewhere. It seems like they have one person strictly running the register and another doing everything else (food, coffee, etc), which doesn't seem super efficient... I wish I could give 4.5 stars - its a great place, and I hope it sticks around...but the speed of service can be pretty frustrating. I imagine they'd get more morning traffic if people knew they could be in and out quickly. read more

This is a morning staple of mine. I stop by there during the week and pick up a coffee and a BoBo Oat Bar. I really need to try some of the other stuff too but I love the Bobo Bars. The store owner, Emily, is usually behind the counter. She is always delightful. She is quick to remember her regulars and their orders and you are quickly but pleasantly moved through the register process. The shop is quaint and quirky. The coffee is great. I wanted to like this place because it's local, homey, and trying to do well by the environment, but the coffee just isn't good. Correction, the coffee is good, their brewing methods are not. Their drip coffee is weak and underdosed, their espresso drinks have poorly extracted shots and their milk streaming techniques are poor. I also don't like their stale pastries, I get it, it's not that busy of a place, but to call a muffin that's a few days old fresh just because it's wrapped in plastic doesn't cut it anymore. The coffee shop scene in Longmont is catching up to the rest of the region and the Red Frog isn't evolving like it needs to. I've even resorted to going to Starbucks down the street where I know the coffee will be properly brewed and the pastries fresh. Friends don't let friends drink corporate coffee but poor techniques leave consumers no choice. read more

YAY FOR AWESOME LOCALNESS! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars (and how I wish we could give 1/2 stars because this is minor so... 4 1/2 for these guys!) is because if it's a bit busy, expect to wait for a bit to get your coffee. Can be a little frustrating if you are in a hurry, but if not, stop and smell the roses! :-) Here is the good stuff~ 1. It is not a chain! 2. They offer 3 non-dairy options for milk~ Coconut milk, Almond milk, and of course Soy milk! It's so great to be able to choose something besides soy! 3. They have lots of gluten free treats available! 4. It is a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere! 5. The people are super nice! 6. They sell fair trade coffee! 7. The coffee is AWESOME! 8. There is a good selection of food! It's not just bagels and cream cheese folks! 9. They compost and recycle! This would be an excellent place for a running group or cycling group to stop after their workout. There are tables and chairs, comfy couches and cool art. Worst Coffee shop I've ever been too. Nice people but terrible coffee. I ordered some decaf lattes with whip. I was charged for the lattes, I was charged $1.00 for asking for decaf, I was charged 1.30 for whip of which I got about a 1/4" of whip on the top. THEY CHARGE FOR DECAF!!??? What coffee shop does that? A hamburger place doesn't charge extra to cook the meat. The worst part was the actual Lattes, when we got our coffee's they were just brown colored milk. First time I ever dumped my coffee from a coffee shop, ever. Dumped it. $17.00 for 3 lattes is outrageous. Will NOT EVER be going back. Other that that, they had cute frogs everywhere and the people were friendly. read more

This place is amazing! I went to Red Frog almost every morning while I was in Longmont. The coffee (from Kind Coffee in Estes Park) is so tasty and the customer service is even better! The people who work there are so friendly and I couldn't have asked for a better coffee shop. They make your coffee (even the breakfast sandwiches) really quick so it's the perfect place to go on a busy morning. Now I just need to convince them to open up a store in Portland... read more
