I'm done with Oskar Blues and the surprises each time I go. I tried to have a birthday party on a Monday lunch time for 6 adults and 4 kids. I called ahead and Sarah said I could reserve space inside or outside seating for my party but when we got there, the host put us outside and THEN told us they didn't have service outside and we'd have to order at the bar. WTF!? So, we moved inside and were the only ones in the place for about 30 minutes. The food was good but I'm done with everything being an add-on item - example: cheese on the burger is $1.50. Really? House salad was $2.00 additional replacing onion rings on the pulled pork sandwich? Soft drinks were reasonable at $3.00 each. We ordered a kids fish plate ($8.00) and wanted to order one additional fish filet and were charged for a second kids plate (again $8.00). KIds' Mac & Cheese was pretty good. The cost-of-living adder on the check that most restaurants have dropped is now LUMPED together with tax on the bill so as to hide the additional amount. On my bill of $146.00 - they added $17.36 for tax and adjustment. Working backwards, I guess that is an additional $5.00 or 3%. Not too much but it's misleading to price a menu this way. One only saving grace was I could pay with a charge card and they didn't add a fee on top of all that. I guess future customers will see if that changes because I'm done. read more

We were a party of eleven and our server "Kat" did an amazing job ensuring we all had a very enjoyable experience. She kept our glasses full and our food came out quickly. My wife and I had the full rack of ribs, which were "fall off the bone" delicious. We also had the loaded fries which were super good. Unfortunately when the band came in they set up right next to our table making it difficult to hear each other. Kat also made sure we got our military discount which shows Oskar Blues cares about the military. All of us enjoyed our food and the efficiency of our server. This place went from our favorite to having nothing on the menu of interest. The big thing we loved is their fried pickle spears, which was a unique take that made them less soggy, more crispy and juicy. They have been replaced with standard pickle chips that are soggy, salty, and flat. Completely inedible. There wasn't a single meal on the menu that I recognized as a favorite. I was able to customize what used to be the trustafarian burger with the help of the incredible waitstaff. Also they've started serving margaritas with one giant ice cube? It's ridiculous. What's really disappointing is that co owner Jason was on site and i spoke to him several times over the course of this experience about the disappointing and unforeseen changes. I'm not sorry that I'm speaking truth to to the fact that you basically turned Oskar blues into a watered down Red Robin's, Jason. It's sad how something so special can change so fast. Hope yall fix your pickles and get your poop grouped. My partner and I came to Oskar blues for fried pickle spears after we eloped. More than sad. Disgusted at Oscar Blues. This is twice in a row they screwed up my meal, and didn't really seem to care. What's so difficult about medium rare that you screw it up 3 times in a row? The last time, they gave me a well-done burger. The waitress never asked me how my meal was, never checked if I needed anything, and the same thing happened this time. I told them when I ordered what happened last time so it didn't happen again, and it happened again. This time, I sent it back. I thought they took it off my bill but 15 minutes later, they brought me another burger... medium well. They didn't ask me if I wanted one. They just brought it. They never apologized. Never asked how it was. Never checked if was better or if I needed anything. I will never eat their again and if you do, know that medium rare equals medium well. And the waitstaff had some of the worst customer service I ever experienced. They're lucky they got a tip. Never again. We were in Longmont today for an appointment. Every time we go, we pass this place when driving in from Boulder. We also used to pass the original in Lyons whenever we went to Rocky Mountain National Park. But this was the first we had time to stop for a meal. It was lunchtime and nearly empty when we arrived but several tables filled before we left. It is a homey classic brewpub with beer my husband has always liked. And the exciting thing is that there was a free pint with my Yelp checkin and they were happy to use it. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We were seated and offered service immediately. Their entrees were a bit large for us for lunch so we deduced to split the fish and chips and get an additional side salad. I love cole slaw which came with the plate but my husband loves side salads with blue cheese which was an offering. It was a good decision. The 3 fish pieces were huge, Alaskan cod, classic, on top of seasoned fries. The fries were just OK because I am not a fan of battered seasoned fries. I love natural fries, and if to be seasoned, just sprinkled on fresh cut potatoes, after simply frying the bare potatoes, preferably cut with skin on. I am sure these are very popular with some customers. But if both types were available , people like me could be just as happy. I am sure we will be back. Today was the second time eating at Oscar Blues. The space has two Yelp listings - one for the restaurant Homemade Liquids & Solids and the Brewery Taproom. My husband got the Fish and Chips. I got the Salmon Entree and it was fabulous. My salmon was coooked perfect and the unique combo of veggies it rested on was the perfect compliment. There were just a few sliced fingerlings as the base and they were a great contrast of textures. I told my husband I'd like to eat there more often. Also our server ROCKED IT. we have been here before and excited to come back. the service was great, she was kind and patient with our kids. The pumpkin cider was delicious and great for fall. They didn't have a lot of fall seasonal which I was disappointed about. The wings are always amazing. But the 3 stars is related to the Notorious PIG and Flank Steak. Good craft brew. I really like the Dale's Pale Ale for a lighter less piney balance of pale malt and citrusy hops. Citra Every Day hazy IPA if you are looking for a heavier dose of hops. And the Old Chub is a great take on a Scotch ale. Food wise I recommend the prime rib sandwich. Perfectly cooked and seasoned thin sliced meat with tasty caramelized onions & peppers. Grabbed lunch here after a hike at the RMNP! Our waitress Helena (hopefully spelled or correctly) was great. Our beers where brought out right away! Had the Cali Cream and so delicious! It was like a vanilla cream soda with alcohol! Yum!!!! Our waitress checked on us a few times to make sure we were ok while waiting for our food and it was worth the wait! Chicken sandwich was tangy and spicy with jalapeños added to it and the turkey sandwich had plenty of protein! I loved their homemade kettle chips!!!!! My favorite side! Came here with my cousin and uncle around 7 -8 PM and the restaurant was not busy at all. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Our server was very nice and allowed us some time to look over the menu as it was me and my cousins first time here. We all ordered something to drink, I ordered a cider, but I can't remember the name, but it was super tasty! I'm a lightweight, so just 1 was enough for me. As an appetizer we ordered the pork belly bites, it does have peppers, but it was not spicy. This was recommended to us by our server as it is a frequently ordered item. Its not a large appetizer, I think its good enough for 1 or 2 people. I ordered their trustafarian burger, which had beef, arugula, goat cheese, bacon and honey. I was skeptical to order this at first because I've never heard of honey on a burger before, but I LOVE arugula and my cousin and uncle convinced me to try. I didn't regret it, it was so good and the honey surprisingly blended perfectly in there. The fries that came with it were nice and crispy and tasted good too. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals as well! The service was good, food came out fast, it was delicious, but I'm giving 4 stars because I don't think their selection of food was that great. After we walked out, they seated people who just walked in! Will never drink their beer again! Just noticed they are owned by Fireman Capital Partners. They also own one of my now ex-favorite breweries, Cigar City (I live in the Tampa area) that I will never drink again. Perrin in Michigan was always a nice stop when in that area that will not be visited again. A fantastic alternative is right across the street called The Post Chicken and Beers. I have given this restaurant a 5 star in the past. We have visited 3 times since they remodeled and I have to update my review. The first time we visited, they had a limited menu and similar to a gastropub flare. I'm not adverse to that menu but I loved their BBQ focused menu which I thought paired well with all of their awesome brews. The last time we visited, I ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs that were decent but did not fall off the bone which they are known for. I paired it with a non-Oskar beer which was my mistake. I appreciate that this restaurant offers other local breweries but I should have stuck with an Oskar (Can-O-Bliss) My tablemates ordered the Cajun Seafood Pasta. The pasta and sausage was delicious but the shrimp arrived still grey and completely raw. The manager was very attentive once we brought to his attention and offered new shrimp but after 20 minutes we asked for our bill and told our waiter to not worry. The shrimp arrived as we were settling our bill. I live a few blocks and really want this restaurant to return to its pre-remodel days. In the meantime, I have been visiting the Tasty Weasel (Oskar's taproom) down the street and ordering takeout. Their beers are still worth the visit. read more

Clearly using frozen not fresh and Costco food. Save yourself the trouble and do not order food here. Unless you want frozen microwaveable shit. Highly disappointed. I know Colorado doesn't have alot of yellow and brown people like me and co-workers, but when we walked up to the host to get a place in line, he legit asked us if we had an American phone number LOLOL The beers looked interesting and I got a flight to try some of the different flavors. I got a flight of the nitro stout, rose, some pear and raspberry one? The beers were average at best, I like Mountain Sun Brewery alot better. For food, I got the beet salad and gumbo, which was ALOT of food. The flavors of the beet salad was good but dang it was just covered with cranberries so the sweetness got too much. But on this night there weren't any of theirs that I wanted - and they had a Perrin No Rules Porter (15%) that I couldn't pass up. I had tried this beer at the Festival of Barrel Aged Beers in Chicago in 2015 and had fallen in love with it. It's harder than hell to get in the bay area, so it was a no brainer to order it. We sat at the bar and enjoyed ourselves...took selfies, got photobombed by the guy sitting next to me which was hilarious, and generally just enjoyed our own company. I ordered fried green tomatoes...they were not as they should be - they were just hard and fried - not sweet, as a green tomato usually becomes when fried. We have been coming here since the beginning. Special occasions have been celebrated here and some great memories...including menu items that we look forward to ordering because you can't get that flavor anywhere else in town. Not so much now? Not sure if the gutted and dimmed menu is a COVID-related issue, but it's now the same selection that is on every bar menu in town (or, really, anywhere)...and the taste isn't anything special. A down-home tavern with ample selection of American craft beers, serving Cajun-American-style menu. They also brew their own beers, which is very cool. Very popular hang-out place, so it gets crowded quickly, and gets really loud also, not a good place for business lunch/dinner but good place to hang out with your family/friends. Oskar Blues is definitely not for everyone, but as a beer-heavy restaurant, it's absolutely a lot of fun. They have a fantastic selection, so much so that it would be overwhelming for the uninitiated. The decor is unique, to say the least. Pictures, posters, and other interesting wall decorations pepper the walls, and the bar area has a vast collection of beer taps hanging from the ceiling, reminiscent of stalactites in a cave. I had the Meta Margarita to start, which combines some of my favorite flavors: an Oskar Blues IPA, Aussie hops, tequila, and grapefruit juice. I wasn't terribly impressed with the burger I tried, which featured pulled pork on top. It was just ok. That being said, the sweet potato fries were fantastic. Whether you're a casual beer drinker or an avid imbiber, I would definitely suggest a flight. It's a great way to sample some tasty beers, and it gives you an idea of what you might like to order in the future. (My favorite of the flight I chose has to be Du Ciel Peche Mortel, a tantalizing, smooth imperial stout that has a great coffee flavor that makes you wish you were having it for breakfast). Perhaps the best beer I tasted was the Southern Tier Brewing imperial stout: Choklat Oranj. It's so chocolatey, you can smell the notes of chocolate emanating from the glass. It reminds me of Hershey's syrup. The beer goes down smoothly, and the hint of Orange is noticeable without being overpowering. I think it would pair perfectly with a gooey brownie. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the bluegrass band playing tunes throughout our meal. They swelled in number as we ate, and their collection of banjos and guitars definitely completed the southern-esque atmosphere. read more
