Visiting from. Texas, I knew this area has a lot of breweries, so the name of this one intrigued me. What a great concept, and pairing (pun intended). I sampled the beers, I browsed the store. I only tried Roger's beers, since I'm in his store, but he has beers from other breweries too, so there is literally something for everybody. Running and beer go hand in hand, so having a microbrewery and running store combined makes perfect sense. You enter the store and in the back is the taproom. They emphasize the social experience with weekly events from group runs to open mic night. The staff is very friendly and they offer a nice selection of 20 rotating taps (from Northern Colorado) along with a few house beers. This was a never have I ever and that has now changed! After a couple miles bike ride and a very close stop from home we decided to taste a craft brew at Shoes & Brews! I ended up having the Citrabar mixed with Pear Apple Cider! I couldn't decide on which one because they we're both really good! So go get yourself one! Shoes & Brews stands out because the front of the store sells running/Athletic wear and in the back is the brewery. All "business in the front and party in the back!" Just like a mullet! Went to this place on a Sunday afternoon. A plus they are dog friendly which is awesome. We got there about 1145 and they didn't open until 12. But the bartenders saw us and told us we could still come in and have a beer. Really cool concept with a brewery and a shoe store. 2 great things in Colorado. Unfortunately when we went there they only had 1 house beer on tap. But multiple other beers from other breweries. There beer was good. It was a Berliner Weisse. I'll call ahead next time to see if they have more house beers on tap. Very friendly bartenders. Cheers. read more

Found this place because it's one of the stops on the "Brewhop Trolley" ...probably wouldn't have stopped in here otherwise. I'm glad we did though! They have a good selection of local Longmont brews featured in the back room of a running shoe store. Taproom wasn't huge by any means but there was enough space to spread out and games to play on all of the tables. Another great dog-friendly spot. They served pretzels and pizza as well although we didn't try them. TIP: If you run a 1/2 mile, your beer will be priced according to your time... 3 minutes = 3 dollars read more

My training partner and I traveled from Kentucky to Colorado to train over parts of the summer in 2018. We caught word of this store and had to come and see what they are all about. The service and help at this store is some of the best you'll ever find. As well as their knowledge needed to properly operate a running store and selling running equipment. They also went out of their way to help us participate in the 800m race challenge that they have, since we were unable to make their large event for it. We were both lucky enough to rank high in the top 800m time list! 10/10 would come here again to hang out and receive gear from this running company!! read more

Q: When should I come here? A: Want shoes and/or beer? This is the place to go. Really though, good selection with chill vibes and plenty of gear selection for all your running needs. Great idea, a lot of breweries have run clubs, but how many have a full on performance shoe store in house? Unfortunately my running days are on hold until my knees get replaced with some robot ones, but I wish this was around in Denver a few years ago. They don't have much in the way of house beer, but feature other locals on tap to round out the handles. If you want something a little more low key than left hand or some of the other big guys this is a good option, especially if you're a competitive or recreational runner. read more

When you walk in the front door you see a little store that sells shoes, workout wear of all kinds, muscle maintenance products, etc. Then you head to the right back corner and go through a door to the brewery and taproom! Business in the front, party in the back for real! They typically offer 4 of their own creations on tap and then have guest breweries that fill the rest of the many taps they have. Dogs are welcome and there are tons of fun games available to play, including a giant version of Connect 4! They also have social runs every Wednesday and Thursday from 6-8 with 1/2 price pints for the runners! If yo haven't been to Shoes & Brews you are missing out. Showed up for the shoes. Stayed for the brews. It says online that they're open until 8 but when we got there (at 7:30p), the shoe side was already closed. The salesperson came and opened the door to let us in. She may have seemed slightly annoyed and said clearly, "We often close down the shoe side before the other side." But why does it say open til 8? Anyway, we didn't find the shoes we were looking for so we went next door (we had a coupon for buy 1 beer, get 1 free). They had two Shoes & Brews beers on tap so we tried one of those and another from a guest brewery. I would say in total they probably had 10-12 brews (?) on tap which was a good selection. I think I saw other people with snacks so I would assume that they offer some sort of nosh selection, though we weren't there for that so I honestly didn't look/ask for a menu or pay much attention. I thought it was a pretty cool little place. It's not huge nor is there a particularly unique decor. The bar is neat and they have a small patio area outside when the weather is nice. I think we'll be back - it's always nice to find a new brewery that we like. read more

This place is the coolest! In what could be considered a match made in heaven, this establishment has split their space and idea down the middle: a shoe store and a beer bar. When you first walk in, you'll notice a fully stocked running shoe store, complete with staff that can help fit you and walk you through (no pun intended) everything you need to know about finding the right shoe, as well as some other similar merchandise. However, if you look towards the glass window to the back, you'll see a beer bar! Not only can you make a fine selection on a great new pair of shoes, but you can even have a beer to prep you for that run later... S&B is also very linked in with the local community, and has several running/walking events a month, aimed at bringing locals together, over fondness of both running and beer. Brilliant. read more

The young couple who opened this place have done a great job of creating a nice place to have some tasty local beers at very reasonable prices. They have specials, like $1 off pints on Mondays. They also host fun runs for runners (and sell running shoes there, too, thus the name Shoes & Brews :) ). They have done a beautiful job with the space - there's a great story behind the gorgeous wood bar. They have pretzels & chips for purchase. Only tip I would give would be to dim the lighting a bit. It was a bit bright in there the night we were there last. Also, they seem to close early - we stopped by to have a beer 45 minutes before closing time and they were already closed for the night. Overall, a great job for some fresh new beer tasting room owners. It's a neat spot. Can't wait to get back to try some more great local brews. read more

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but their selection fell short. They didn't have my size in either shoe! Luckily my hubs found a pair he now loves. I heard about Shoes & Brews in a Runners mag years ago, so while visiting friends in Denver for Thanksgiving I had to be sure and swing by. Me and the hubs made a day out it. Too bad we were too lazy to get a run in. We tested out some shoes on the treadmill there, so I guess that sorta counts. We enjoyed the beer scene, not so sure about the homebrews. They were a bit too wheaty for my taste. We walked the trail down to left hand brewery so all in all the whole trip was very memorable. Too bad we don't live in CO, yet... read more

Nice place to stop and have a beer. Very good selection of beers whether you are into malty beers, IPA's or sours. No kitchen but they offer some snacks such as pretzel puffs. Good stop for a barley pop while biking the St Vrain greenway seeing as it is right next to it! As for the shoes, did not make it past the bar area. read more

Not sure if it's a shoe store with a brewery, or a brewery with a shoe store. But it doesn't matter this place is great. Friendly bar service, great crowd, good beer, and food looks decent but didn't try it. Relaxed atmosphere with a nice patio, plenty of parking... and a shoe store! I like lighter beers so the bar help steered me toward their Negative Spirit IPA which was light yet flavorful. Would like to see a nice blond (beer) or light lager. Review for the Shoe Store side. The knowledgeable staff has assisted me several times over the past couple of years, both with trail runners and road runners. They have stride analysis available and are ready to talk about the plus and minus for each shoe. Most recently, I bought a pair of Altras for my road running. After a few runs, it was clear that my toes were banging into the front of the toe box, so I returned to the store. Service was fast and friendly and they carried lots of microbrews that are on our regular rotation anyway (Grimm Brothers, City Star, Wibby, etc.) It was just the atmosphere that didn't do it for us. I haven't been a runner for years and I'm pretty sure hubby doesn't even know what running is. Plus the entire building was cold... Especially the bathroom. Brrrr....! Great for beers and shoes. The staff on both sides are so friendly and helpful. On the running side, they have a great selection of cool running apparel and a ton of shoes. If you have any questions, they'll chat to you about anything shoe-related with great depth and interest. Zero pressure on the sale side, so it's a great location to try on a few shoes and think about it for a day or two. On the beer side, super friendly.
