Quarters is definitely worth stopping in if you're looking for an easy casual place with a self serve tap wall and classic arcade games that entertain while not making you feel like you're spending a small fortune for a fun outing with a partner, friends or family. The beer selection is decent and you get a wristband that you can tap to either pour yourself a drink or play any of the games. The only thing to look out for is one of our pours had quite a bit of foam even with proper tap pour technique. The gentleman working the front desk was super friendly and helpful. I'm giving it two stars because it could have been good, but it's really disappointing and I hope they improve a lot. First, the good stuff. The concept with the wrist band is nice, it makes things real easy. The prices are very cheap, so it's a good value. The plays on the games are priced fairly from what I could gather, which is nice. Now for the areas that need improvement... The arcade cabinets. For some reason they have a collection of bizarre LCD conversion cabinets running MAME, with cheesy cheap sticks and buttons, and even cheesier cardboard cutout makeshift bezels to obscure the fact that they slapped an unsuitable screen in there. 1945 had a totally skewed and incorrect aspect ratio and at least 4-6 frames of lag, if not more. The angle of the screen was somewhere in between a regular arcade cabinet and a pinball machine. It was jarring I actually started laughing out loud in disbelief over how scuffed this machine was. The spray painted black cardboard cutout for a bezel was so insanely cheesy. I didn't want to be rude but I was very tempted to take a picture to submit to the /r/crapmame subreddit it was so tacky. The buttons were also incorrectly placed on it, 1st and 2nd player had a different positional layout, which is bizarre. The Simpsons arcade game had a balltop on the stick that came loose while I was playing. I tried to screw it back in, but that didn't work, the thread must have been stripped. I talked to the nice person that worked there and he said I just have to screw it back in, tried it himself, didn't work, he left it there and then he shrugged. It was a super cheesy cheap setup. It felt like it was AliExpress hardware, sanwa-knockoff stuff. The worst was frogger. This poor frogger machine was sitting by itself with a bizarrely off-center bezel. The lag was not as bad on this one as on 1945 thankfully. But the joystick was seriously a real nasty piece of work. It was mushy, bizarre, off center, inputs not registering randomly. A game I usually have no problem playing on my MiSTer FPGA at home, suddenly turned into my greatest challenge. If you are looking for a cheap dive to just get drunk and lazily reminisce with some people and not care about the quality of the arcade experience, have at it! The staff is nice enough. But if you are looking to play arcade games, this place does not serve your best interests unfortunately. read more

I absolutely LOVE Quarters! This was my favorite entertainment place to visit when I lived in Longmont. When I came back last year to visit my son we came here twice. They let us bring a cake and presents and have our own little birthday party in there. The owners Luke and Emily are the nicest most down to earth people I've ever met in my life. I have lots of wonderful memories here. I used to walk down from my apartment and have a few drinks and play some fun games, kept me from being cooped up. Their wristband system makes it so easy to drink and hop from game to game. My wallet has never been hit like crazy when I come here. After every single visit after I pay my tab I can't believe how much bang for my buck I got. What a cool little place! The games were so cheap, we could just keep playing and playing and not think about spending too much. Plus the wristbands with scanners made everything so easy. And the self serve bar?? The best. You can taste, do half pours, no waiting, reading about them up close. The actual selection of beers wasn't my absolute fave that day, but there had to be over a dozen beer options, plus it was very cool that they also had a couple coders and a couple wines on tap too! I really wish more places had self serve bars!! Skee ball, electronic air hockey, pac man... lots of fun. Also they were cleaning regularly and that was much appreciated! We will be back! read more

This place is pretty small, only a handful of games but a good place to stop for a beer and some fun. I really like their wristband system. No need to get coins or swipe a card at each machine. I appreciate the implementation of RFID bands for the games and the tap. As long as you know how to self serve, this place is great. And a good way to meet people is pouring for them. Great time. A few competitive games, some of the best arcade classics, and a wide variety of beer along with some wine options too! When you are walking down Main Street in Longmont, Colorado, you may miss this gem. It is a garden level business so you have to look down through the windows to see that there are young people and adults playing their favorite video games and adults enjoying local adult beverages. Their tap system enables you to try at your own pace and helps to keep their labor costs down. Look for glassware below the tap! Servers are circulating to keep things clean and help if you get stuck. You can bring in your own food so I strongly recommend Rosalee's, the best Longmont pizza place, right down the block! My family was visiting with four kids ranging from age 8 to 19 and we all had a blast. The pong game is very retro, it is almost less a "video" game because it is an actual block which is passed between paddles that you spin. Really fun for all of us! I recommend it, even as a destination if you do not live in Longmont. Excellent concept. Adults only after 9 pm! read more

EDIT: RESPONSE TO OWNER COMMENT The establishment has replied to my review, disingenuously claiming gender inclusivity and insinuating that I have lied about attending the establishment at all. Not that I have any incentive to prove otherwise, I came into your establishment early one afternoon for a pre-packaged wrap, as I was curious about the new barcade that opened up and wanted to scope your cabinet selection before I committed to bringing friends by. I am, however, no stranger to bars, arcades, and barcades specifically, and I have a background in facilities, so this is information that could be deduced from simply observing the space, even if I haven't gone there for drinking and gaming during prime-time. And more to the point, your restroom signage immediately registered as problematic and exclusive. Whether or not you "allow" people to use whichever restroom they want is a different issue than what your signage portrays (and I'm speaking to the standardized restroom signage, not to any decals added later). Guys, it's not hard. "We listened to your feedback regarding our restroom signage, and we're looking into possible solutions to make our establishment one that is inclusive to all." Honestly, you could lie at this point. But your response proves you're all snakes, willing to make baseless claims to discredit my critique of your poorly-conceived establishment. Just own it and move on. Or better yet, make the signage change and be like "Hey! You spoke and we listened, now our signage reflects our policy towards inclusive restrooms." Because even more than being able to use whichever restroom you want, it matters equally that people walk into a space and immediately feel welcome to use whichever restroom they want. No need to ask a manager. No need to feel like you're needing to be sneaky by occupying a restroom that is signed for the gender they don't identify with. Now that I've given you all this knowledge and didn't even charge you for it, would you like to try your response again? ORIGINAL REVIEW: Initially, their beer-on-the-wall self-service setup is novel, but it doesn't replace the experience of interacting with a bartender. Whatever benefit you get from expediency, you lose in comfort; the space is poorly thought out and there was major congestion around the self-service area. Best thing I can say is that the beer selection is decent. Limited and lacking arcade selection, even for a barcade. Again, the narrow and poorly planned layout of this bar They do not have an operating kitchen, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the snack food they do have is subpar and overpriced. This establishment has gender-specific single-occupancy restrooms. Separate conversations with management revealed them to be uninterested and even contemptuous of the idea of adjusting their signage to be welcoming and inclusive to everybody. This has led me to believe this establishment is /not/ LGBT-friendly. I am looking forward to the owners reconsidering this stance in the future. Dope place where u get a wristband to pour your own drinks and use for machines. They take quarters too of course, but the wristband makes it easy. It's like half underground which is super cool and chill in the summer. Also if u have the minchies they have the snacks! Very nice staff that are super helpful. read more

Longmont's only real arcade bar is worth the visit, I absolutely love the self serve beer and cider- not to mention it's pretty cool that you can use your wristband they give you to track all of your alcohol and play tokens together. Overall this place was cool to check out and experience. Had a variety of brews and ciders available, and the wristband is a cold feature.
