What has happened to Busey Brews? I recall a fun spot where wait staff would discuss and encourage you to try different beers and talk with you about specials, etc. I recall meeting the friendliest staff in Ned. Yesterday we went in for an early dinner, and the host could not have been more rude. Tall guy with the bird on his neck (tat). We wanted to discuss beers and the special. Bird guy said, "what, you can't use the QR code?" Actually, in this day and age, a restaurant that still uses QR codes to order is a sign that they simply want to save money and not employ polite staff. Finally, a pleasant enough woman took our order. Because really their attitude was, "we are doing you a favor by waiting on you". The food and beer was as good as usual but the staff were as rude and unhappy as I've ever seen. And I've worked in the restaurant industry a while. We will be frequenting the pizza place next door from now on and avoiding the unfriendly Busey Brews atmosphere. thank you very much. read more

We are here on vacation and drove to this town. Our friends with us said this was a good lunch. They were right it's fantastic. They smoke all their own meats. They make green and red chili. The sides are perfect for what ever you order. I had the potato salad and it was better than my homemade. Our server Sara was very attentive to us and made great suggestions. We had chips with green chili and salsa. We had green chili, red chili, smoked turkey Ruben and I had the daily special The Meatloaf Sandwich. The meatloaf sandwich was smoked, with caramelized onions on a potato bun, extremely delicious. Great service, great food, what more can you ask for. Oh yeah ask for Sara read more

Today we had Thany as our designated deliverer of all things delicious. We selected the Rack of Ribs and the Mac-n-Cheese and Coleslaw as the sides. Again the Service is over the top and the Food and Beverage are so Delicious. For desert Thany suggested we get the Chocolate Brownie and it was still warm when delivered to our table. Between the Service, Food and Beverage and setting overlooking the mountains it doesn't get much better than this. Make it to Busey Brews, you'll be glad you did. read more

I've been to Busey Brews multiple times since 2024 and I've always left satisfied. I've given a couple of 5-star reviews on Yelp but my experience last night was sub-par. To note, I've only ever been here for lunch, never dinner until last night. We drove over from Boulder to have kombucha and awesome BBQ, like we have in the past. When we arrived for dinner, there was a DJ and trivia going on inside, so we decided to sit outside on the front porch and it was beautiful out! Perfect weather. Our first disappointment started with the service. One thing I enjoy about going out is being waited on and customer service but the hostess said I had to scan the QR code and order my own food and pay the bill from my phone, the server just brings out the items as they're ordered. I've enjoyed interacting with staff and Kyle in the past and I'm very social, so I was not happy about missing out on the customer service experience. We ordered the kombucha, which hasn't changed and was delicious as always. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with a side of cole slaw and cornbread and my husband ordered the Smoked Beef Dip with a side of cole slaw. Both of our sandwiches were lacking meat, it was mostly bread. And my sandwich was very dry; I added sauce but the sauce outside on our table was very soupy (not sure if that's normal or if the consistency changed from the temperature outside). After tax and tip for 2 kombuchas and 2 sandwiches, our bill was $67. Overall, I was really disappointed by my dinner experience. Total bummer. read more

Love, love, love Busey Brews! You can choose to eat inside, out on the back porch, or downstairs on the dog-friendly patio next to a rushing stream. Nederland is a cool mountain and Busey's is an institution here in Ned, and it's easy to see why! The creekside location and Mountain View's are spectacular. I would love to come back during the winter when the fire pits are roaring. Service is so friendly and chill, that you'll want to stay for hours. Really nice craft beer selection and a good menu that's built around some pretty tasty barbecue! I loved that I could add giardiniera to my sandwich . . . Perfection! This is a great place to drink good beer and relax in the mountains. Highly recommend! read more

Wow, ok Busey Brews, you've made some big improvements on flavors and delicious sides and tasty ribs! I was here a while back and remember it being just ok, this time around hubs and I kept going this is really goood!! Ribs were Smokey, tender and just sweet enough! Cornbread was sweet and corny just the way I like and potato salad was perfectly mustardy and creamy! The cole slaw was fresh and crunchy too! read more

Awesome ribs and a very nice deck, we really had a great time here. The coleslaw was delicious and there were so many other items on the menu that I want to try. The wings look delicious, I'll order them next time. The Mexican lager was good but I prefer when it has a little more corn flavor like the Kernel beer for example. It was still very light and refreshing. I love restaurants that let you scan to pay. This is the way! Here you can also order on your phone but I live that they still give you a real menu. Trust a long time bbq smoker here - they know what they are doing here! read more

We are visiting on a week day during high peak tourist season, so a busy wait is to be expected. We saw lots of family enjoying the lovely patio and enjoying family meals. We waited with no acknowledgement for some time at the host station before being seated. The staff were very friendly, order from the QR code. Service is quick. The food is just ok. My companion did not enjoy their ribs, we did not enjoy the nachos. read more

Great spot to check out post hike! Their smoked wings are big and juicy. Do not sleep on the wings. Smoked then finished on the grill, def something worth coming back for. The green chili had great flavor, comes with chips or tortilla. Wonderful service, came with great recommendations. They smoke their meat inhouse and brew their own beer. For non beer drinkers, they have wine and a bar too. read more

Wow! This place is a true hidden gem in the mountains. The craft beers here are seriously impressive, and the BBQ even more so. I don't think I've ever had a better French dip sandwich in my life. Everything was seasoned perfectly, and THOSE BEANS! Unbelievably good. I would walk up the canyon from Boulder if it meant getting a seat at the bar with company as good as the bartender, Dylan. He was informative and friendly without ever being overbearing, which is a rare balance. This restaurant runs like a well-oiled machine. Beautiful mountain views, great beer, good company, and fantastic BBQ. What else could you ask for in life? read more

Great BBQ and sandwiches and beer, with multiple seating areas and a panoramic indoor/outdoor vibe. Everyone working there was friendly, and the service was solid. I stopped in on a slow Friday, but I'd absolutely wait for this place. Hands down the best food I've found in Nederland so far. The BBQ was legitimately good and that's coming from someone who just got back from Kansas. This will be my go-to spot whenever I'm in the area. Definitely worth checking out. We have stopped here numerous times over the last several years. What I once thought was a great restaurant and outdoor seating area near the river has turned more into a McDonald's like delivery service. The menu is great and we ordered off the barcode so are food could be brought to us at our table. Once we started to get our delivery we noticed we were missing one lemonade, which was actually our mistake we didn't order. However, we brought it up to the waiter very rudely and abruptly said you only ordered one see there. It is right there on the receipt and walked away. It was our mistake but he made no offer to get an additional one nor did he ask if we needed anything else, he just disappeared. The rest of the servers were a little more. Customer service oriented the area outback near the river was dirty The brush and the surrounding area were overgrown, and the area just seemed to be generally forgotten about, to include the customers. While I do say all of this, the food was actually really good next visit we will definitely be trying a different restaurant due to the lack of customer service. read more

This place was way better than I expected. It is small and quaint but well decorated. The staff all had a great vibe and energy. The food was even better. Have visited busey brews a few times during our month long visit to Nederland. The staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We have enjoyed the Reuben, nachos, beet salad, hot link, mac & cheese, beers and their seltzer. Kyle the owner couldn't be more personable and we always enjoyed speaking with him. We visited for live music on a Sunday and it was great. It's nice and cozy indoors, they have a wonderful back patio with heaters and a high top fire pit surrounded by bar stores as well as an outdoor area for people who bring in their dogs. Amazing food, amazing staff, and hands down the BEST smoked wings in Colorado! These are true smoked wings -- not the kind that get smoked and then fried. The meat is incredibly tender and juicy, literally falling right off the bone. You can taste the quality and flavor in every bite. The brisket sandwich was absolutely outstanding too -- smoky, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Pair it all with a cold beer, and it completely tops off the experience. Great atmosphere, great service, and definitely a place we'll keep coming back to! read more

We stopped here for lunch after a long morning hike. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and the food was terrific. I ordered the reuben -- absolutely excellent. I added the brisket chili as a side as well as cornbread. In the photo you can see part of the sandwich is missing; my wife took part of the sandwich before I could take a photo. :-) She ordered the wings, half with the bourbon bacon and half with the garlic parm. Both excellent and we had enough left over for dinner tonight. I had a ginger hard seltzer and we bought 2 pints of ginger beer to go. We ate on the patio; they said we would need to order online but they came out and took our order anyway...I guess it wasn't all that busy. I am from Kansas City and am a bbq snob. I gotta say that the smokehouse reuben with corned beef was delicious. They know how to smoke meat. I highly recommend this place. read more

The BBQ looked so good, we tried as much as we could: ribs, brisket, wings, and pulled pork. The flavors were great, smoky meat and delicious rubs. They didn't overcook to mush like some BBQ restaurants do, everything had a perfect texture of tender yet firm. Sauce was available, but use it sparingly so you don't cover up the meaty artistry. Quite a range of beers on tap made in house. Many intriguing offerings, with well sourced ingredients. I'm pretty sure I had been in this building years ago in some previous incarnation and liked it then...in any case, it's a great fit for the town, like a welcoming cabin. read more

After a recent mountain bike ride we popped in for a beer to enjoy before heading home. I had a winner winner das Berliner a 4% kettle sour Berliner Weiss, which was light, refreshing and the perfect post ride hydration. We enjoyed a beautiful garden view, laughed at the adorable pups and left happy. Parking was a bit of a challenge, even on Sunday evening, but it was worth the trouble. read more

We stopped by around lunchtime after enjoying a fall hike. It was super busy that day so we put our names on the waitlist. After waiting 45 minutes or so, we were finally notified a table was ready for us. We were prepared for the wait, what frustrated us was that the host didn't tell us that the tables on the front porch are first come first serve and that we could have just sat there rather than hop on the waitlist (they were open the whole time we waited). Anyway, we sat on the covered patio area which was nice and even had a little fire as the air started to turn cold. Everything is ordered via QR code which made ordering easy, but service in general was kind of slow the whole day. The beer was fine but my husband thought his Mexican lager was quite watery. The BBQ platter was more than enough food for two adults. Our kids loved the Mac and cheese. Our friends ordered the sliders and food envy was had by all on our side of the table (especially me- the lone celiac) speaking of celiac, the menu gives you a clear picture of what is gluten free! First meal in Nederland over the weekend brought us to Busey Brews. I knew they were a pub but the aroma of BBQ that hit our noses when we walked in was overwhelming. They smoke all their own meats in house! The taproom is extremely cozy and something you'd expect in a small mountain town. They recently remodeled their back deck that boasts a fire pit and mountain views. Inside has a rustic feel that makes you feel right at home. Beer and BBQ is one of the greatest pairings of all time. I landed on their pale ale to start and this got my palette warmed up for smoky flavors. I ordered a big ole platter with St. Louis ribs, smoked buffalo wings, mac and cheese and baked beans. Woah. Right off the bat you get that smoke. You can tell it's all done in house and not an inferior product heated up in the microwave. Honestly everything was solid, with the ribs and mac being my clear winners. The ribs were extremely tender, while the cheese sauce coating the mac was stellar. Wings were smokey with a tiny bit of heat. I do wish they made their own ranch instead of the accompanying sauce packet with the wings. Plus the carrots and celery had seen better days. The best part of the entire experience were the few staff members we encountered. They each asked us if we had been in before, and explained their concept and signature items prior to us ordering. We even had some confusion on our bill and they apologized profusely. These little mountain towns can be hit or miss with food and service, it's refreshing when a staff is passionate and well trained! I ordered a crowler for the road and although it wasn't my favorite beer, this will be a must stop for us in Ned. Love these kind of places that are equally comfortable during all seasons! read more

This place is a must go when visiting Ned. The outdoor patio has completely transformed the atmosphere and is one of my favorite spots to grab a beer and bite to eat. There's a big fireplace center and bar seating over the river. They have big pull down screens that block out some of that famous wind and keeps the patio usable into the later months.
