    Date night burger
    Marissa F.

First major thing you need to know - CASH ONLY! They do have an ATM at the back, but just come prepared. We stopped in Saturday night for dinner. This place is always packed. Luckily we got in on a sweet spot where the didn't have a line. I had the raspberry beer and date night burger. The date night burger is just the best in my opinion. Everything about it is perfection, from the date puree, to the bacon and melted goat cheese. Mmmmmmm mmmmm. Service was eh. They seemed too busy to like more attentive I guess. Chips are good but a little over seasoned in my opinion

    highly recommend the date burger!!

I think this is the best burger I have EVER had (date burger)! Lots of outside seating options, plus the bar area is super cute. **Important to note that it is cash only!!**

Service 10/10 Food 10/10 Ambience 10/10 on the Groovy scale. Piped in music- wants to make your body groove! Note: they only accept cash or check, but they do have an ATM onsite. We didn't know but worked out. From the time you enter you feel the friendly vibe. We felt very welcomed and at ease. I didn't take a photo of the tortillas soup because I was starving and it came out first, but OH MY GOODNESS! I wanted to order a bigger portion and forget the rest of the meal. Don't sleep on that soup- LARGE chunks of tasty, gently cooked beef. I was amazed at the flavor and gobbled it up before I even thought to take a photo. We both got the Basic Burger with cheese and fries. The fries are crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Just how I like them! The burger was SO JUICY! what a great place to visit when we come back to Colorado.

    Speakeasy Steak Sandwich with fries

Came here for lunch on a Sunday and had a nice meal!We were able to find a parking spot in a paid lot and walk around. We chose this restaurant to eat at because of the wide variety of foods! The 5 of us were able to be seated immediately. Inside was cute with a decent amount of seating and some seating outside too. The service was good. They had vegetarian and vegan options which was nice. They had unique bowls, grilled cheeses, sandwiches, and salads. We didn't realize they only took cash and check. I ordered the speakeasy steak and really enjoyed it! Bread was crispy and the sandwich was packed! I upgraded for $3 for fries and was happy I got them, they were very crispy! ~$!6.50 for the sandwich which i thought was a fair price. My friends also enjoyed their meals! I left very full and happy! Yum!

    Cool art on all walls.

This place has great food, but the wait staff is even better! All of these people are on the ball and help each other serve. I don't think I ever ran out of a drink!! The Gochujang Chili Steak Fries are awesome!

Great first time at mountain sun! I've heard about it for awhile and finally got to go. It's been around since 1993 so definitely a boulder must visit. The service was amazing everyone was super helpful and friendly. The steak speakeasy sandwich was sooo good I would definitely get that again. It's spicy though so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to that. The tofu sandwich was perfectly crispy and sweet with the honey added. The Greek fries weren't as crispy as I would have wanted but the combination of flavors was great with the Pom seeds and hot honey and tzatziki. Can't wait to go back!

Nice Sunday afternoon lunch after a hike nearby. 4 of us came in and decided to sit outside on the sidewalk/patio setup. Service was great, came by to give us waters, take our orders etc. We were offered a free basket of fries, and while I don't like to complain about free things, they were a bit salty for our tastings (although it didn't stop us from finishing the basket). I really enjoyed my tomato bisque soup, and the black bean burger was okay. My friend did check about gluten free options and ordered the BLT because it was on gluten free bread, but then when it came out she double checked and they had to re-make because it wasn't on gluten free bread. Overall lovely lunch on Pearl Street.

Tried 3 different IPA's landing on the hazy as my favorite. The nachos tasted very good, I do love some salsa on my nachos, but so much liquid on the bottom the chips were like noodles, but hey, it was still good. Service was top notch, they all take care of you so very little waiting at all. Comfortable atmosphere with some chill tunes playing. Definitely worth the stop.

Delicious food, cool vibes, great location! My friend and I stopped here on our way through Boulder after a local recommended it to us. So glad we did! It's located off Pearl Street, Boulder's most hopping area. We were able to find street parking close by, and it was cheap! First things first, it is CASH ONLY, so plan accordingly! There is an ATM on site, not sure of the fees, etc. When we arrived, it was pretty busy, but we were able to sit on the patio. The nice thing about the patio is that it's heavily shaded with umbrellas (which, admittedly, made snapping photos a tad tough for this foodie gal!) This place is quite interesting inside. The wall decor is cool but it has carpet and older looking tables, so that was different. It looked more like a diner/old fancy restaurant had a baby vs a brewery. This might be part of the vibe they're trying to achieve, but I'd probably go for patio seating every time! Our waitress was wonderful. She was super busy but checked on us often and we never wanted for a thing. We tried beer and it wasn't our fave, but we had been in the hot sun that morning so water hit the spot. We started with the nachos and they were BOMB! They're HUGE and the cheese pulls are outta this world. So good! For mains, my friend ordered the Date Night burger sub chicken and she really liked it. The chicken was a little small, but it was tender and the flavors were delicious. I had the Junk Burger (no mushrooms sub in caramelized onions). It was phenomenal! Highly recommend. So cheesy and tasty. I loved the roasted garlic mayo. I also love their fries and the availability of malt vinegar. Overall, Mountain Sun is a great spot for lunch and a beer. Honestly, if the inside decor switched it up a little/carpet was removed, I'd give it a full 5 stars, this was just super odd to us. Don't let that deter you, though, definitely stop by!

No! Unless you count tying your dog up OUTSIDE of the patio as dog friendly. You can't bring your dog into any patio that has food service without it violating health code.

I had the tin man HH cocktail because my server said it would be the most floral (has elderflower in it) and I quite liked it! Was very refreshing, not too strong. Aside notes: the bathrooms were quite clean. Parking was a little chaotic, some is paid parking and some is free 2 hour. There are only a couple spots right in front, I had to park a few blocks down but it was in 2hr free park by another small business that was closed for the day. I didn't have any issues there. Overall thought this was a fun little bar in Boulder with good happy hour drinks, I would def come back :)

For food, we each got a side Caesar salad. Large and with lots of flavor, they were very good. We each then got the Mediterranean pizza. I added chicken to mine. I've enjoyed having my birthday party here for the last handful of years (they have amazing event space). As it's family friendly my crew always feels happy to bring their well behaved little one along. While my friends are sure to bring activities for their kiddos (books, toys, educational iPad devices) some folks aren't as considerate. I've definitely had the unfortunate experience of kids running amuck while their parents are fully attentive only to their brewskis. This was particularly disturbing as I've been recovering from a knee injury for several months and my partner has often been with me and on crutches. Would love to see people take more responsibility for their children's behavior when taking them out in public for everyone's safety. While it's Boulder afterall I hold hope that parents will look after their kids if they decide to bring them in or drop them to the nearby kiddos climbing facility if they wanna play. Looking forward to many more good times with friends at this awesome locally owned gem.

One of our favorite things during the pandemic when restaurants could reopen was picking up their in house chicken pot pie. It's my husband's absolute favorite chicken recipe which I used to make myself. Though I am unable to make it now that l have lost a lot of vision and not a single one we have bought elsewhere was sufficient until we ordered from The Post Boulder. After a short time it became too labor intensive for the Post to make in house back then with limited staff so they contracted with a pie facility in Denver.
